6
FIELD EXPERIENCE IN A LIQUID TREATMENT FACILITY (LTF)
A LTF is a plant used to separate water, gas and solids from crude oil. Also, treat produced water before disposal or
injection.

RELETIONSHIP OF LEARNINGS TO CHEMICAL ENGINEERING COURSES
COMPLETED COURSES
CHG 202- Chemical engineering operations : Unit operations e.g. separators in the LTF
CHG 201 and CHG 301- Transport phenomena I&II: Fluid flow e.g. Pipes, pumps and valves are used in the LTF
CHG 303- Separation I: Cyclonic separation e.g. V-dryer used to solids control
CHG 310- Chemical engineering laboratory II: Non-Newtonian fluids e.g. Drilling mud
CHG 405- Principles of plant design I: P&ID e.g. different P&ID that I worked on in Seplat
CHG 401- Industrial chemistry I: Oil and gas industry e.g. Seplat
COURSES TO BE COMPLETED IN THE FUTURE
CHG 501- Process dynamics & control: Control valves e.g. Level control valve on the separator in the LTF
CHG 505- Principles of plant design II: process design methodology e.g. FEED and DED of the any project.
CHG 519: Environmental pollution engineering: Atmospheric pollution e.g. Flaring of AG to the atmosphere in the LTF

CONCLUSION
This training has been able to bridge the gap between theory knowledge and practical experience in the industry
thereby preparing me for the outside world and industrial environment.
I can say that I have gained reasonable competence in upstream oil and gas operations and in the use of software’s like
Microsoft Visio & AutoCAD to design
