The key takeaways are that sacraments are visible signs instituted by Christ to give divine life, and the document outlines the seven sacraments of the Catholic Church.

The three sacraments of Christian initiation are Baptism, Confirmation, and the Holy Eucharist.

The two sacraments of healing are Penance and Anointing of the Sick.

SACRAMENT OF
CHRISTIAN INITIATION
The sacraments of Christian initiation –
Baptism, Confirmation and the Holy
Eucharist – lay the foundations of every
Christian life. “The sharing in the divine
nature given to men through the grace
of Christ bears a certain likeness to the
origin, development, and nourishing of
natural life. The faithful are born anew
by Baptism, strengthened by the
sacrament of Confirmation, and receive
in the Eucharist the food of eternal life.
By means of these sacraments of
Christian initiation, they thus receive in
increasing measure the treasures of the
divine life and advance toward the
perfection of charity.” (CCC 1212)

SACRAMENT OF
HEALING
Through the sacraments of Christian initiation, man receives the
new life of Christ. Now we carry this life “in earthen vessels,” and
it remains “hidden with Christ in God.” We are still in our “earthly
tent,” subject to suffering, illness, and death. This new life as a
child of God can weakened and even lost by sin (CCC 1420)

The Lord Jesus Christ, physician of our souls and bodies, who
forgave the sins of the paralytic and restored him to bodily
health, has willed that his Church continue, in the power of the
Holy Spirit, his work of healing and salvation, even among her
own members.

SACRAMENT OF SERVICE
AND COMMANDMENT
Holy Orders is the sacrament through which the mission
entrusted by Christ to his apostles continues to be exercised in
the Church until the end of time: thus it is the sacrament of
apostolic ministry. It includes three degrees: episcopate,
presbyterate, and diaconate. (CCC 1536)

The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman

establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of
life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses
and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant
between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord
to the dignity of a sacrament (CCC 1601)

this, a man

We are constantly challenged to mature and grow in
our Christian life. Our faith experience must be
nurtured so that we can be transformed into the image
of Jesus.
Faith must translate into virtues that form the
foundation of Christian living. Every Christian is called
to respond and cooperate with God’s invitation of
salvation.
As a believes, we must seek to know God more
intimately and therefore more deeply and thus strive to
live a holy life. This means putting aside our personal
desires and letting God be the center of our life.
For this reason we do our best to add goodness to our
faith; to our goodness add knowledge; to our
knowledge add self-control, to our endurance ad
godliness, to our godliness add brotherly affection and
love (2 Peter 1:5-7)
