WHAT IS WPS?
• Documented procedure (recipe) of how welding to be
made to achieve intended quality
• Pre WPS (Preliminary/Proposal of WPS) to be made
before starting to weld, checked and tested by qualified
personnel
• PQR – document based on pre WPS to be prepared to
record actual material, welding parameters used, and
results of tests
• Approved WPS – qualified WPS, supported by qualified
PQR, Welder Certificate, and Authentic Signatories
