Indikator
 Siswa dapat menentukan fungsi sosial, struktur
teks, dan unsur kebahasaan pada ungkapan
meminta, menyatakan pendapat serta meresponnya.
 Siswa menjelaskan unsur kebahasaan yang
menyatakan ungkapan pendapat
 Siswa dapat menggunakan ungkapan pendapat
dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
Tujuan Pembelajaran
Setelah mengikuti proses pembelajaran tentang
ungkapan menyatakan pendapat, peserta didik
diharapkan dapat :
 Menentukan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur
kebahasaan pada ungkapan menyatakan pendapat serta

responnya.
 Menjelaskan unsur kebahasaan yang menyatakan
ungkapan pendapat
 Menggunakan ungkapan pendapat dalam kehidupan
sehari-hari.

text given.
Conversation 1
Teacher : Udin, what do you think about your
classroomt?
Dwi : I think, it’s very dirty ma’am.
Teacher : Why is your classroom very dirty?
Dwi : Because some people don’t care
Conversation 2
John : Beni, what do you think of this picture?

Beni : I think it doesn’t look natural
John : and What do you think of this story?
Beni : it’s very interesting, sir.
John : Yes, I thinks so.
An opinion is the way you feel or think about something.
Our opinion about something or someone is based on
OPINION our perspective. Whenever we give or express our
opinion, it is important to give reasoning or an example
to support our opinion.
Some opinions:
A: What did you think of the new Terminator film?
B: In my opinion, the new Terminator film was not as good as
the older ones.

A: What do you think about marriage?
B: I don’t think it’s for everyone. To start with the cost of a
wedding these days is ridiculous!

A: Do you have any comment on the drama series from India
and Turkey?.
B: I assume they have various story

A: What do you feel about that Black Tea?
B: I feel it’s not good drink because the taste is too sweet.
Discuss these questions with your partner.
1. What kind of conversation are they having?

2. What is the purpose of the conversations?
3. Write down the expressions of asking for opinion based on
the conversations!
4. Write down the expressions of giving opinion based on the
conversations!
5. Write down the conclusion both of the conversations above!
Opinion can be expressed using
mental verbs like believe, think,
doubt, assume, feel, etc.

Delisa: These days, it seems like

everything is going digital. Even
shopping, hotel reservation, and
buy a ticket. What do you think of that?
Husna : You’re right. As I see it can be easier

and efficient.
Delisa :That’s true. We can do shopping while

doing another activity.
Husna : Exactly, only from your smartphone, you

can get everything you need.
Naya: Sifa, do you think that English is difficult
lesson?
Sifa : I don’t think so.
Naya: I totally disagree. it’s so
difficult because I hard to do every tasks that
are given by our teacher.
Sifa : From my point of view, it is because of you are
lack of vocabularies. So, try to enrich your
vocabulary then.
Naya: You could be right.
Sifa : Yes, what do you feel about it?
Naya: I’m not sure about that.
Sifa : I see your point, but to my mind there is no hard
in it if we learn seriously.
Naya: Yup, I couldn’t agree more.
Sifa : Ahahaha......
