Excitation & Propulsion

Control
 Excitation control
 Generates modulated PWM signal based on traction
requirement.
 Engine & Loco Propulsion control
 Control engine based on drivers request.
 Controls loco movement based on drivers request.
 MCBG communication
 Receives data from MCBG for display and control.
 Loco Configuration
 Configure the MEP software to suit the type of loco.
 Digital input Vs output function
 Controls the output devices based on input signals as per
the software logic.

Control
 EP analog input measurements
 Monitor Excitation related analog input signals and take
appropriate action.
 Engine speed calculation and monitoring
 Receive engine speed signal from MWSCC card and control
GHP proportionately to speed based on type of loco.
 EP related faults diagnosis
 Generates EP related faults based on the fault conditions.

Control
 Communicates with other control cards
1. WS related faults are sent to MEPCC card to get time
stamp from MAUCC card.
2. MEPCC card send these WS related faults as well as
internal generated EP related faults to MAUCC card for
time stamp.
3. MAUCC card provide time stamp and send these faults
along with its internal AU related faults also to MEPCC
card and to display.
4. MEPCC card send this fault to MWSCC card once again for
recording.
