 OYO ROOMS was founded by RITESH
AGARWAL in 2013.
 It is India’s largest hotel network spread across 230
cities with over 8500+ hotels offering standardized
and hassle free stay experience at an unmatched
price.
 They focus on three main points :
• Standardization
• Affordability
• Technology driven
GROWTH OF OYO
 From a single hotel in May 2013 to over 8500+
hotels at present, OYO aims to become the world’s
most loved hotel brand.
OYO’S PRESENCE
 OYO is headquartered in Gurgaon. It has spread all
across India and even abroad over a short span of 5
years.
 It has it’s Customer Care office in Marol, Andheri
in Mumbai.
 It has tied up with 300+ hotels in Mumbai
 It appeals to all classes of people as it offers a wide
variety of room categories to choose from.
FUNCTIONING OF OYO ROOMS

 OYO ROOMS books a part of the hotel which are


put to match the standardized quality.
 These rooms are offered to the customers at OYO
ROOMS WEBSITE/APP from where the users
book them at a predetermined price.
 Unlike makemytrip, Goibibo and other aggregators
who take commission; OYO ROOMS re-sell and
co-brand the model.

OYO APPS
 OYO APP FOR EMPLOYEES: gives access to
employees and interns to promote Oyo Rooms.
 OYO APP FOR OWNER: to view sales and
bookings and check earnings and payments on the
go.
 OYO APP FOR CUSTOMERS: to book hotels at
affordable price with standardized quality.
HOW DO THEY EARN ?
 They book hotel rooms on certain discount and re-sell it
to the customers at predetermined price; profitable to
both the customer and OYO ROOMS.

 They have certain cancellation policy stating 100%


refund if the room is cancelled before 24 hours and if
not so some charges are taken.

OYO has acquired 7 organizations.


 1. Danamica: Danamica offers the market's best and most user-friendly pricing
tool to vacation rental agencies. Acquired on Sept 2, 2019 for $10M.
 2.Leisure Group: The Leisure Group is one of the largest players in the European
online market for accommodation rentals, such as holiday homes, holiday parks and
hotels. Acquired on May 1, 2019 for $415M.
 3.Qianyu Islands: Qianyu Islands is the flagship brand of Beijing Beike Youjia
Technology Co., Ltd., which is positioned in the “Urban Shared Accommodation
Space”. It is committed to providing users with different traditional hotels and B&Bs,
younger, more free, more possibilities and higher value for money accommodation
options. Acquired on Mar 26, 2019.

 4. Innov8 Coworking:Innov8 Coworking is a Y- Combinator backed
workspaces and community startup based in India. They provide premium workspaces
(managed private offices and coworking spaces).Innov8 Coworking is the first of its
kind Thought space in India. Acquired on Mar 15,2019 for $30M.
 5. Weddingz: Weddingz.in - India's largest Wedding Company. Acquired on Aug
18,2018 for $45M.
 6. Ableplus Solution Pvt. Ltd:AblePlus specialise in developing Internet of
Things (IoT) solutions to bring intelligence into every aspect of a business. Acquired on
Jul 10,2018.
 7. Novascotia Boutique Homes: Novascotia Boutique Homes is a Chennai-
based service apartment operator. Novascotia Boutique Homes was founded by G
Madhu Manohar and Girja Madhu. Acquired on Mar 18,2018.
GUEST TERMS AND CONDITIONS

 Primary guests must be 18+ to check in.


 Guests must carry their identification proof during
check in like Aadhar Card, Voter ID, Passport or
Driving License.
 Pets are not allowed in the hotel premises.

SUGGESTIONS AND CONCLUSIONS

 OYO has payment issues as stated by many hotels.


They can improve their business if they rectify this.
 OYO changes its modules every few months and
hotels are unaware of this. Hotels will be more
willing to tie-up with OYO if they sign a written
agreement about policies and their payments.
 During initial stages, OYO focuses and responds
quickly to the new tie-ups and over time they give
them lesser importance. They should be consistent
in their services.
