What is an Adjective?

• What does it do?


1. Adjectives
• An adjective is a word that
is used to describe a noun or
pronoun.
It describes a noun or pronoun by telling
•what kind (big, small, wet, long, beautiful)
•which one (this, that, last, first…)
•how much (little, much, enough, no)
•how many (five, many, several, ten,
enough ,no )
1. To find the adjectives, look for the nouns or
pronouns first. Then ask what kind, which one,
how many or how much

• Examples:
– The green grapes are amazing.
– The seventh grade reads that book.
– I got five tickets for the last show.
– Happy teachers announced the good
results.
– I have enough salt in these dishes.

directions.

– The choices are few but difficult.
