OPPORTUNITIES AND THREATS
FACED BY McDONALD

 McDonald's has maintained an extensive advertising campaign for


popularity they use media (television, radio, and newspaper), the
company makes significant use of billboards
 Sponsors sporting events, and makes coolers of drink with their logo
available for local events of all kinds.
 They have the ability to add healthier lines of food
 Their staff are trained from specific Institutions.
 McDonald's operates more playgrounds - designed to attract children
(and their parents) to its restaurants - than any other private entity.
 McDonald's restaurants have been encouraged to participate in the
environmentally friendly movement by getting involve in the
community.
THREATS

 McDonald's face tough competitors, such as K.F.C, Burger


king, and Pizza Hut.
 Different cultures and traditions in different continents.
 Different currencies, more complexities.
 Political instabilities.
 Bird Flu can be a threat for McDonald.
WHAT ALTERNATIVE COULD
McDONALD HAVE CHOSEN?

McDonald can use following alternative to increase his value:


 McDonald should stop his product where it's not doing well and
take corrective action and check his quality.
 McDonald should open new restaurant in that area where fast
food has important part in the culture of that area.
 McDonald has to choose that management which can easily
understand the demand of all customer.
 McDonald should decrease its prices in that country where per
capita is very low.
 McDonalds should make his manuals which include traditional
dishes of that area.
EUROPEAN MARKET

McDonald’s is well-established in Europe. McDonald has got


very strong position in Europe because the people of Europe like
mostly fast food and McDonald providing fast food in Europe.
The McDonald menu mostly include traditional dishes of
Europe.The per capita of Europe is high as compare to Asia, so
prices are not problem in Europe. McDonald's succeeded
because in Europe there are people involved in many activities
that require a lot of time,so they must eat something on the run
so that they can go back to their jobs, where they can 'produce'
money that will be spent at a fast food.it's a vicious circle.We all
are too fast and too furious...so, logically, a fast food like
McDonald's was in need.
ASIAN MARKET

There is no any major different in McDonald strategy in


Europe and Asia In Asia McDonald menu is according to
Asian culture and traditional dishes and in Europe it’s
according to their culture. McDonald's has introduced new
items (Premium Chicken sandwiches and the Beef Burger) and
campaigns to create more healthy foods (Premium Salads).
McDonald’s has pursued two strategies. To keep up with
rapidly changing consumer preferences, demographics and
spending patterns.The net profit of McDonald in Europe is so
high as compare to Asia . The per capita of Asia is low as
compare to Europe is very low, so prices are a big problem in
Asia.
PHILOSOPHY

The basic philosophy of McDonalds is to develop a


collaborative approach with the suppliers.They committed
to sharing best practice with all suppliers which helps
improve quality and increase value. This philosophy of
McDonald is so important because if the relationship with
the supplier is not good they can’t provide food to customer
in time . McDonald basic philosophy include the good
relation with the supplier. McDonald have to apply this
philosophy in any environment without any discrimination
for better performance and provide fresh food to customer.
SHOULD McDONALD EXPAND ITS
MENU ?

Any large corporation needs to balance it's product line


against profits. Adding products costs money, but without an
adequate product line there will not be sufficient customer
interest. McDonalds and other companies are constantly
balancing their product lines against expenses and will do
what is best for THEIR "bottom line".
McDonald’s should expand its menu, since it will certainly
attract more people and cater to a wide market, of course they
should be a bit more diverse in their food products.

Breakfast sandwiches, Hotcakes.
WHY IS McDONALD's SUCCESSFUL
AROUND THE WORLD

 McDonald’s first priority is quality, service, cleanness and vale.


 McDonald serve traditional food with good taste.
 McDonald’s management concentrates on maintaining quality
of the food product.
 McDonald maintained it’s safe clean store image.
 McDonald is heaviest advertiser.
 McDonald has maintained it’s price value.
 McDonald has a very good market position.
 They tend to be the cheapest option when it comes to fast food.
