Repair Preparations

1. Remove power cord and connections and place the TV down onto a protected surface.

2. Remove the stands with pulling straight out.

3. Insert the Open Jig completely into the tab (slot) of the rear cover’s left side bottom corner to release
4. Insert second tool on bottom left side while angling tool and proceeding to open cover up left side to top
5. Insert Open Tool in bottom right corner tab (slot) to release
6. Insert second tool on bottom right side while angling tool and proceeding to open cover up right and across the top.

※ Cautions to prevent severe damage to the Panel.

Insert the Open Jig① in tab 1.5inches away from bottom.
Do not go across the bottom of the panel with the
Open Jig②.

7. Gently lift up the rear cover from the top middle while wiggling to release inside clips and prevent damaged.

8. Stands can be re-inserted for troubleshooting

Removing SMPS board – Discharge Large Capacitors


- You first have to discharge the SMPS by using service JIG across leads of Large Capacitors as pictured below.
- If LED ON -> LED OFF, Discharge is completed. Then verify voltage is less than 10Vdc across leads with Volt Meter.

Removing SMPS board – Discharge Large Capacitors


- First discharge the SMPS by using service JIG across leads of Large Capacitors as pictured below.
- If LED ON -> LED OFF, Discharge is completed. Then verify voltage is less than 10Vdc across leads with Volt Meter.

Removing SMPS board


Lift up
1) Push and hold down BLU connector tab to release
it’s panel lock connection.

2) Lift to release the lock tab on upper left side of


Board. (Step 4 will assist)

3) Locate a notch in insulation sheet. (not all models)


Slide to the right to release the board
4) Use Open Jig in notch to help release & smoothly
slide SMPS to the Right.
(While pushing BLU Tab & Releasing Lock Tab)

1) Gently lift up (Top Right corner) to release the lock.
2) Use both hands to hold the board and slide to the left
to release the board.

properly positioned in all 4 mounting slots.

Troubleshooting
- Flashing Symptom Codes

After TV is "COLD BOOTED" (AC Power Re-Cycled), Flashing symptom codes will operate
and show the defect block with number of LED flash

Place a mirror or phone directly under Standby LED to observe flashing.

1. Verify Standby Light 4. If Standby LED Flashes and TV won’t power on
If missing perform Standby Test / Function Test  Disconnect Panel Cables from Main Board
2. Power the TV On  Power the TV On
 Check Standby LED changes and TV Powers On  Check TV Powers On (Audio OK / Backlight OK / No video)
• If TV now Powers On replace Panel
3. If Standby light won’t change (doesn’t turn off or flash) • If TV still won’t Power On replace Main Board
 Check with both Remote & Function Control Power commands

1. Activate Backlights Test: – Disconnect Lead Cable from Main to BACKLIGHT DIMMING PROBLEMS:

• If CH1 (+) is very low or missing replace SMPS Board • If it varies and back lights won’t dim, replace SMPS.
• If CH1 (+) is OK & CH1 (-) is near 0 Volts replace Panel

Factory Mode – Serial Number

Writing Serial Number


When replacing the main board, the replacement mainboard may have a serial number already entered. This
serial number is invalid and must be replaced with the serial number from the label on the back of the TV.

After replacing the main board, turn on the TV and go to Settings > Support > About This TV. If a serial
number exists,
It must first be erased, follow the instructions below to enter the correct serial number.
1. Take a picture of the serial number on the label on the back of TV.
2. Enter the Factory Menu using a factory remote.
3. Select SVC > S/N > Writing S/N.

4. When the soft keypad is displayed, if a serial number already exists, select “Delete All” to erase the
existing serial number.
5. Use the soft keypad to enter the correct serial number from the Back Cover label. Carefully Check
each digit to make sure all digits are entered correctly. You must enter all 15 digits.
