Did God the Father plan from

all eternity the crucifixion of


Jesus in order to save us?
Jesus’ death in relation to his ministry, his conviction and execution
and God’s plan of salvation.
God the Father did not plan from all
eternity the crucifixion of Jesus in
order to save us.
The death of Jesus was a consequence of His
fidelity to his mission.

Jesus was sent not to die on the cross, but


rather sent to proclaim the kingdom of God
among all people.
The Mission that entails the proclamation of the
kingdom of God to all people by Jesus embodying
the Father’s compassion, forgiveness, table
fellowship, hospitality, wholeness, liberation and
renewal among the lives of the people (poor,
public sinner, social outcast, the sick, the
possessed).
John 3:16 says, For God so loved the world that
he gave us his only son so that everyone who
believes in him might not perish but might have
eternal life.
1 John 4:9 says, God sent his only son into the
world so that we might have life through him.
1 Cor. 15:3 says, God died for our sins in
accordance with the scriptures.
Luke 4:18-19 says, the spirit of the Lord is
upon me (Jesus speaking), because he has
anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim liberty to
captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to
let the oppressed go free, and to proclaim a
year acceptable to the Lord.
Luke 4:43 also says, to the other towns also I
must proclaim the good news of the
kingdom of God, because for this purpose I
have been sent.
Luke 4:18-19 says, the spirit of the Lord is upon me

Through this revelation, therefore, the invisible God out of the
abundance of His love speaks (Jesus) to men as friends and lives among
them, so that He may invite and take them into fellowship with Himself.

By this revelation then, the deepest truth about God and the salvation
of man shines out for our sake in Christ, who is both the mediator and
the fullness of all revelation.
