Control Center 17
When installing or upgrading to Control Center 17 from an earlier version, the following must be
considered:

• Databases from Control Center 16 or earlier must be upgraded using the SDS configuration
tool.
• There is no default ‘administrator’ account – this means the default account must be created
when setting up the system the first time.
• The following features are currently not supported:
• Segmented site databases
• Unattended installation of Control Center or Control Center Client

License Server
In this course we have been using the 45 day trial license. To have a full version
purchased, license needs to be applied to your License Server.

The correct installation sequence for a new install is as follows:

• License Server (Both Windows and Linux NVR-AS 4000 models can act as your
License Server).
• NVR-AS
• Site Database Server
• Control Center front-end application

Note: If an earlier version of the NVR-AS installation exists on your license server, you
may be prompted to uninstall before installation of the License Server.

License Manager (Windows)
If you require new or updated license, launch the License Manager from
the PC / NVR acting as a License Server: Requesting a updated or new license will create a
fingerprint file (C2V). This should be sent to the
Order Management team on
order.mgmt@indigovision.com along with your
order details

Order Management will provide an updated

license (V2C). Apply this to your License Server
using this option.

The transfer options are currently not supported.

Remember, you can confirm the updated license details have been
activated by visiting Help  About Control Center.

License Manager (Linux)
If you are using a Linux NVR-AS 4000 as your License Server, you can view
all information from the License section of the NVR web page:
Select if the NVR should point to an existing
License Server, or if it should act as the License
Server for your site.

Requesting a license is the same process as on

Windows, but carried out via the web page.

The NVR will display all License information from

the License Server at the bottom of the page.
This information can also be found in Control
Center: Help  About Control Center.

Device Count & Replacement Camera
If you add more devices than your license allows, then those devices will show as unlicensed.

• Help  About Control Center will show you available licenses.

• Setup  Device tab will show how many devices are in your site.

When replacing a camera, use the Replace Camera feature. In Setup

view, right click on the old camera, select Replace Camera, then
select the new camera to be used.

This will copy over Access Permissions, Hidden Zones, Local Name,
Salvos, Sequences, Speakers, Surrounding Cameras and Video
Sources saving reconfiguration time.

The old camera will remain under the new for playback of older © 2018 IndigoVision. All rights reserved. No license is granted with respect to any copyright,

footage. No additional device connection license is used. trademark, patent or other intellectual property rights of IndigoVision or its affiliates.
License Server Lease
To ensure no downtime, Control Center PCs and NVRs will use a 30 day lease when there’s an
issue contacting the License Server.

Running on a lease expiring 24th May Problem writing lease file to disk

License Server logs are

included when you run the
Support Information Tool. If a
direct copy of the logs are
requested they can be
accessed on the License
Server directly. Please include
the full Logs directory and
status.json file.

License Server Fingerprint
When using a License Server hosted on a physical machine, various components within the
machine are using to verify the finger print:
• CPU
• Ethernet Card
• Optical Drive
• PCI Card slot peripherals (e.g. Display, storage, network & multimedia)
• HDD serial number
• Motherboard ID
When using a Virtual machine to host the License Server, the components used to verify the
fingerprint include:
• Virtual MAC address
• CPU Characteristics
• Virtual Machine UUID.
If the fingerprint changes, then the License will need to be re-issued.
A license can only be reissued 4 times before the customer will need to re-purchase the license.

Site Database Server Failover
Control Center can be configured to work with a Failover Site Database Server when it is being
setup. This will ensure everything continues to function even if the primary Site Database Server is
offline.
The Failover Site Database Server needs to be configured when configuring the primary Site
Database Server.

Migration Considerations
When planning to upgrade Control Center from a previous version:

• Backup your Control Center site database and NVR-AS configuration.

• Install your License Server (NVR-AS 4000 recommended)
• Upgrade each NVR-AS
• Install your SDS
• Upgrade each Control Center PC.

Ensure steps have been taken to arrange a license from your IndigoVision Sales Account Manager
before starting the migration process.

All NVR-AS and Control Center PCs should be upgraded to the same version, otherwise you will have
limited functionality.

NVR-AS 4000 Range
Installing the NVR-AS 4000 Enterprise (Windows)
• After the first power up, Windows will perform the initial
configuration. During this process the NVR will reboot several
times.
• Refer to the NVR-AS 4000 Admin Guide while going through the
install wizard.
Configuring the NVR-AS 4000 Enterprise (Windows)

To complete setup of the NVR-AS 4000 Enterprise, configure the Date & Time, Network settings (DHCP
by default), and enable Remote Desktop Configuration (disabled by default).

Compact NVR-AS 4000 / NVR-AS 4000 Enterprise (Linux)

These models also use DHCP by default, so will pick up an IP address automatically when connected to
a network with a DHCP server. If the IP address is unknown, a keyboard and ©monitor

Troubleshooting
Capture logs BEFORE rebooting or reprogramming the unit:

For NVR-AS 3000 and Linux NVR_As 4000 send in

the ‘All Diagnostics’ report available from the
Diagnostics section of the web page.

Common Checks:
• Can the device be pinged?
• Is the units HTML config page viewable in a browser?
• Is the unit on the latest firmware?
• Has the network been isolated to test?
• Has another Ethernet cable and switch port been used to test?

Wireshark
Wireshark is a network protocol analyzer. It will capture network packets and display packet data with as
much detail as possible. We may occasionally ask for a Wireshark capture to help troubleshoot an issue –
use the video tutorial on https://learn .indigovision.com for guidance.
The video covers:
