01
ORIGIN
INTRODUCTION
A legend from the fourth Homeric
hymn describes the invention of the
first plucked-string instrument and
associates it with a magical power,
capable to captivate even a god
PICTURES OF FIRST FEW GUITARS
Guitar consists of these basic things

STRINGS BODY HEADSTOCK

They are the vibrating The biggest individual This is where you tune
element that produces part of a guitar is its your guitar, using the
sound in guitar body tuning pegs
02
VARIOUS
FORMS
How was guitar made in past
From a morphological standpoint, the guitar would have evolved from the earlier single-
neck stringed instruments. In its initial stage, these instruments would have a long
neck attached to some type of resonator that could be made from a variety of
materials, from skulls to vegetable gourds that would be partially covered with
animal skin.Later the gourd gave place to a solid wood box, and the animal skin was
replaced by a soundboard also made from wood….
THE VIHUELA (15th-century)

During the Renaissance, outside of

Spain and Italy, the term vihuela
was used in conjunction with other
guitar-related terms as a general
way to indicate instruments
displaying fingerboards and necks
The Lute (16th-century)

A lute is any plucked string instrument with

a neck and a deep round back enclosing a
hollow cavity, usually with a sound hole or
opening in the body. It may be either
fretted or unfretted
It was developed in European regions
THE SPANISH GUITAR (18th-century)

The evolution of
Spanish guitars settled
by the 1790s.
These had the standard
body types and six
course of strings that
resembles the modern
guitar
TIMELINE OF GUITAR

CURRENT
SCENARIO
THE MODERN GUITAR (19th-century)

The Spanish guitar was

further improved and
this gave birth to the
guitar which we know
now
Main changes-Fret board was made
narrow, had a cut design for better
playing
THE ELECTRIC GUITAR

Invented in 1932, the

electric guitar was
adopted by jazz guitar
players, who wanted to
play single-note guitar
solos in large big band
ensembles

Later on it became the main guitar for every big band

GUITARS IN UPCOMING YEARS
In the upcoming days the guitar is going a little change in its shape and size but
the main principle behind the working of guitar remains the same..

HERE IS AN IDEA OF HOW AN

ACOUSTIC GUITAR CAN BE
MODIFIED

The body and the fret board of the guitar

is made of carbon fiber .This helps in
reducing the usage of wood
FURTHER IMPROVEMENT

As everything is getting digitalized,I thought of

why not guitar
The idea here is
The guitar is completely made of hard plastics
Has got no strings and a fretless fretboard
I have made the fret board in a touch sensitive
approach
Even included a touch pad on the board by
which anyone can play the guitar
This guitar does not need any practice to be
played as all the musical techniques are pre
installed, just need a proper timing sense to be
played…
