I would like to present everybody the best places when I was
living in Colombia. And there’s a summary of the best from the

•Carnival.
FIRST PART
 It’s a place where travelers get close to the Atlantic coast

roots from Colombia, The Caribbean Museum. It’s placed in
the Cultural Caribbean Park in the very historical center of
Barranquilla, Colombia. When I was here I spent lots of my
afternoons reading and admiring the whole place
 This is the first regional museum of the country, its central
theme is the colombian Caribbean offering to his visitors an
space for the strenghen of the identity. This cultural and
educational complex presents the cultural demonstrations and
the historical memories of their citizens through the six
romos in which do enphasis in the double belonging of the
región, as much as Colombia like the greater caribbean basin
ANCIENT ADUANA BUILDING
 Walking through the main avenues we saw this

building. Built in 1919 by the english architect
Leslie Arbouin, the Aduana Building was the
epicenter of the economy in the era of the rise of the
transportation system and the river port activities
• Metropolitan Cathedral Maria Reina
 The temple is placed in the center
of Barranquilla, Colombia and as a
missionary my companion and I
met a lot of people
 It is placed in the middle of
Barranquilla, Colombia, western
side of the Plaza de la Paz, where
the zero point of the city is located.
The Cathedral is the main temple
of the archdiocese of Barranquilla,
seat of the archbishop, as well as
the parish of the Cathedral.
BARRANQUILLA ZOO
I was amazed by the zoo because it’s so different

from our culture and the caring in there is so much
better. It is a small but beautiful zoo, the animals have
good spaces and they look well cared for, the climate
is very pleasant because it has several trees that give
sun. It is located in the city, so it is easy to get there,
there is parking if you go in your own vehicle.
MALECON DEL RIO
 If you want a place to rest and relax

you’re looking for Malecón del Río
is the best place to spend the
afternoon, as well as visit the
monuments to Junior and the
window to the world, the nearby
municipalities such as Puerto
Colombia and Usiacuri, are a very
good option, as well as a very good
offer of shopping centers. And no
worries it’s a very safe place to
spent our time
PASEO BOLIVAR
 I was mugged in here. The Bolívar promenade is the
most important avenue in Barranquilla, Colombia,
around which the city arose and expanded. It is located
in the historic center of the city and on it are the
mayor's office, the church of San Nicolás and
numerous commercial and financial buildings. At its
northern end is the Plaza de Bolívar with the
equestrian statue of Simón Bolívar. So remember, be
careful if you walk around
CARNIVAL
 I talk about the Carnival of Barranquilla is

a folkloric and cultural event celebrated in
Colombia and is one of the largest and most
recognized in the world. It is held annually
in mid-February or early March.
Corresponds to the Colombian version of
Carnival, but it’s so different from
Arequipa’s parade.
 In order to finish my speech I would like to share som important issues about this beautiful
place. The city of Barranquilla, capital of the department of Atlántico, is one of the five most
important cities in Colombia. It has a cosmopolitan air that invites the traveler, national or
foreign, to enjoy it, to explore it and, above all, to admire it.
 Its famous "barranquillera breeze", unique in the world, is an almost perfect mix between the
fresh water of the Magdalena River, and the salt water of the Caribbean Sea that you cannot
miss.
