problem, don't hesitate to contact your pediatrician. DIRECT and REPORTED SPEECH Direct Speech • a sentence that gives a statement or thought in its original form according to how the original speaker said • they are enclosed with quotation marks (“”) Example:
Shiela asked, “ Where are you going.”
Renz replied, “ I’m going home.”
Reported Speech • puts the speaker’s words or ideas into a sentence without quotation marks.

is summed up without writing the speech out fully Example:
Shiela asked Renz where he was going.
Renz said he was going home.
