EARLY YEARS
Jobs met Steve Wozniak shortly after they both left school while working for HewlettPackard
Woz was an incredibly talented engineer, especially in electronic gadgets Jobs then traveled to India to visit Neem Karoli Baba at his Kainchi Ashram in search of spiritual enlightenment

The Beginnings of Apple


After spending time in India in 1974, Jobs returned to America He visited with Woz the computer club, but was not content with just the creation of electronics. Jobs convinced Woz to help him create a personal computer, the Apple I

Apple
Jobs and Woz sold the Apple I in 1976 for $666, making over $776,000 from sales In 1977, the two released the Apple II, a single board computer with onboard ROM and a color video interface.

The Macintosh
In 1984, Apple released the Macintosh, the first personal computer with a graphical user interface. Along with the mouse, the Macintosh was the most revolutionary computer made up to that point.

The Downfall
Sales began to plunge Wozniak quit Apple in 1985 Board members of Apple met on May 28th, 1985 and each voted on the removal of Steve from the company

NeXT
After leaving Apple, Jobs founded NeXT Computer in 1985, with $7 million. A new computer company based on an object oriented software platform, NeXT failed first as a hardware company, then evolved as a software company The NeXT workstation was known for its technical strengths, chief among them its objectoriented software development system

The revised, second-generation NeXTcube was released in 1990 NeXTcube could share voice, image, graphics, and video in email for the first time NeXT was acquired by Apple Inc. in 1997

In 1986, Jobs bought The Graphics Group (later renamed Pixar) from Lucasfilm's computer graphics division for the price of $10 million It contracted with Disney to produce a number of computer-animated feature films that Disney would co-finance and distribute The first film produced by the partnership, Toy Story, brought fame and critical acclaim to the studio when it was released in 1995

In 1996, Apple bought NeXT, and with it came Steve Jobs. In 2000, Jobs became the full CEO of Apple, after the success of the iMac, the first computer mainly marketed for its looks.

Jobs continues to innovate the computer industry, spearheading projects like the iPod, iTunes.

Wealth Jobs earned only $1 a year as CEO of Apple, he held 5.426 million Apple shares, as well as 138 million shares in Disney (which he received in exchange for Disney's acquisition of Pixar) Forbes estimated his net wealth at $8.3 billion in 2010, making him the 42nd wealthiest American

Management style Jobs was a demanding perfectionist[ who always aspired to position his businesses and their products at the forefront of the information technology industry by foreseeing and setting trends. Fortune wrote that he was "considered one of Silicon Valley's leading egomaniacs

HONOURS
National Medal of Technology from President Ronald Reagan in 1985 with Steve Wozniak (the first people to ever receive the honor). Jefferson Award for Public Service in the category "Greatest Public Service by an Individual 35 Years or Under" in 1987.

Things to take from him


The only way to do great work is to love what you do.
If you havent found it yet, keep looking. Dont settle. Im the only person I know thats lost a quarter of a billion dollars in one year. Its very characterbuilding. Live everyday as if you were to die tomorrow
