About VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS
Folders on DVD Disc
• DVD disc (not Blu-ray) may contain these
folders:
– VIDEO_TS
– AUDIO_TS
34
Video DVD Disc
• Must contain a VIDEO_TS folder in the topmost directory
on the disc
i.e., VIDEO_TS cannot be in a subfoler
• VIDEO_TS contains all the files of the video DVD disc
• Your DVD authoring program creates the VIDEO_TS folder
and all the files inside for you
• May also contain an empty AUDIO_TS on disc
• Older set-top DVD players may not play a DVD disc without
an AUDIO_TS folder
• If your DVD authoring program does not create an empty
AUDIO_TS folder, you may want to create one

Audio DVD Disc
• Must contain an AUDIO_TS folder in the
topmost directory on the disc
i.e., AUDIO_TS cannot be in a subfoler
