Programs, Projects and Activities
The Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG or Seal), is a
progressive assessment system that gives distinction to
remarkable local government performance across
several areas, puts primacy on integrity and good
performance to institutionalize local governance
reforms in the continuing pursuit for meaningful local
autonomy and development.

Taking off from the introduction of the Seal of Good


Housekeeping in 2010, the SGLG reaffirms the whole-
(SGLG) of-government approach in bringing about meaningful
and lasting reforms by including key governance areas
since it started in 2014.

It is a performance assessment and recognition
system that aims to give distinction to barangays with
remarkable performances across various governance
areas. It also intends to encourage barangays to
continuously progress in delivering efficient,
equitable, and quality public services. It puts primacy
to integrity and good performance as pillars of
meaningful local autonomy and development (DILG
for Barangays MC 2023-103).

Aims to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of
ADACs in their efforts to address drug abuse and
related issues within their respective jurisdictions.

The POC Performance Audit is a yearly assessment
conducted by DILG that aims to measure the
effectiveness and efficiency of the POCs in
promoting and maintaining security and public
safety.

It is an online database and monitoring system
that simplifies the process of planning and
implementation in terms of monitoring and report

Public Safety Plan - Policy generations. The system was crafted to monitor

The LTIA is an annual search which recognizes the
outstanding lupong tagapamayapa that adequately
demonstrates the ability to judiciously and expeditiously
resolve cases referred to them and demonstrate exemplary
performance and commendable contribution in the
promotion and implementation of the Katarungang
Lupong Tagapamayapa
Incentive Awards (LTIA) Pambarangay (KP).
The LTIA looks into the following areas of assessment (DILG
MC 2023-022):

I. Efficiency in Operation
a. Observance of Settlement Procedure and Settlement

Incentive Awards (LTIA)
This is an initiative by the Department in support of the
government’s efforts in reducing hunger and ensuring food
security in the country, as it recognizes the important role
of the barangays in this endeavor.

barangays towards sustainable agriculture initiative as it

aims to revive the spirit of bayanihan or community thru
community gardening, which will produce fresh, healthy,
and affordable fruits and vegetables to the households and
communities (DILG MC 2023-001).
BIDA takes on the learning and experiences of the Department in its
previous anti-drug campaigns like the Ugnayan ng Barangay at
Simbahan (UBAS), Mamamayan Ayaw sa Anomalya, Mamamayan
Ayaw sa Iligal na Droga (MASA-MASID), and even in the Operation
Oplan Tokhang.
Buhay ay Ingatan,
Droga’y Ayawan It recognizes a multisectoral, collective campaign and commitment to
(BIDA) Program address the challenges brought by illegal drugs holistically (Paunan,
2023). Thus, BIDA is a nation-wide anti-illegal drugs advocacy
program involving local government units, national government
agencies, and other key sectors of the society that focuses on drug
demand reduction and rehabilitation (DILG MC 2023-130).
In 2006, the Philippine Councilors League(PCL), in
partnership with the Department of the Interior and
Local Government (DILG) launched the Local Legislative
Award (LLA).
LOCAL
LEGISLATIVE The Award recognizes the exemplary performance
of Sanggunians, particularly of cities and municipalities,
AWARD for legislative measures that help builds the foundation
of meaningful local administration and development.
The Award accords official recognition to city and
municipal sanggunians that excel in the enactment of
ordinances or resolutions that ultimately contribute to
the attainment of desirable socio-economic and
environmental outcomes, specifically to:
LOCAL
LEGISLATIVE • To bestow official recognition to innovations and
distinctive practices in local legislation;
AWARD • To institutionalize a system of recognition to the
Sangguniang Panlungsod and to the Sangguniang
Bayan for exemplary performance; and
• To inspire local legislatures to excel in the performance
of their functions.

It is an initiative under the Manila Bay Clean-up, Preservation
and Rehabilitation Program that grants economic incentives
and assesses the compliance of barangays to the pertinent
provisions of Republic Act 9003, otherwise known as
Ecological Solid Waste Management Act.
