Teacher’s Note
This PowerPoint includes three 999 scenarios. Please check these before role
playing them with your class, and be aware of any sensitivities that may arise.
These role plays include the beginning of a conversation, and students can be
really creative in terms of how they continue the conversation. You could
encourage use of certain phrases, or see which pair can keep talking the longest.
The slides also include further prompts so that students can get extra ideas about
what to talk about.
Consider sitting students back to back to replicate a real phone conversation
without body language help!
