MIGRATION?
• Global migration a situation in which people go to live in
foreign countries, especially in order to find work.
• However, the reasons why people migrate differ depending
on an individuals situation.{ cambrige dictionary}
• How people migrate depends greatly on its nations current
immigration laws on the safety of the route itself. While
some people are able to travel by airplane or train, others
have do not have same luxury.
EMIGRANT
• when a person freely chooses to move another
places. It might be temporary or permanent. Often
move to resettle as a family, to fulfill a job
placement, or as a reprieve from situation of
injustice and war.
TRANSPORTATION
• Is one of the example of how migration can take
drastically different forms.
WHY DO PEOPLE MOVE?
• global migration can be understood as a cause and effect relationship,
though the causes are just as numerous as their effect. People move across
international borders for a variety of reasons, including { though not limited
to}:

2.NATURAL DISASTERS
3.POLITICAL CONFLICT
4.EDUCATION
5.FAMILY
6.CAREER
7.ECONOMIC BETTERMENT
THE PUSH-PULL FACTOR
 it is a factor in the destination country that attract people to a new place
largely because of the opportunities presented in the new location were
not available to theme previously.
 Example : a family moving from a country with minimal job opportunities
for a successful career.
 The BENEFICIAL ELEMENTS that the new country presents encourages
people to migrate there in order to seek a better life their families.
 A PUSH FACTOR refers to condition which force people to leave their
homes.
A person who would typically move because of distress (safety , natural
disasters , or political conflict).
Place that experience drought and famine, war conflict , and/or high
unemployment would contribute to the push FACTOR THAT TRIGGER for that
country's residents.
DOES MIGRATION IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE?

Some BENEFITS are simply fun and exciting:

 Learning a new culture and


 Experiencing new opportunities , such as testing new
foods and getting to know a different approach to
communication , or immersing yourself in the new
cultural activities, can be exciting and enriching.
TWO TYPES OF MIGRATION

INTERNAL MIGRATION - people moving from one


area to another within one country

INTERNATIONAL MIGRATION - people cross borders


of one country to another
FOUR MODEL OF MIGRATION

CLASSIC MODEL : immigration is encouraged by the


countries of destination like USA, Canada and Australia.
The only restrictions is annual quotas.
COLONIAL MODEL : Countries are more tolerant to
immigration coming from their ex-colonies than others
countries of orgin. (i.e. immigration to England from the
former British colonies)
WORKER MODEL : Immigration are accepted
temporarily as guests without citizenship.
ILLEGAL MODEL : Entering an industrialized country
secretly and work without legal permission.
