Advantages
It promotes analytical thinking and develops a persons problem solving ability. It encourages open mind and serves as a means of integrating the knowledge obtained from different disciplines. As the cases are based on real life situation they are interesting to the trainees. It helps trainees become aware of observation. Contradictions and uncertainties they encounter in their business careers and need the remedial action.
Disadvantages
The cases are that happened already which may differ from future situations. Use of already prepared , fictional cases may limit the realism of case sitiation. Cases become permanent predicates in the minds of trainees who might use them indiscriminately. The preparation of case involves a deal of time and money.
