ABSTRACT
To understand and overcome the problems facing by people in
rural areas and to come up with solutions for those problems, I
performed my rural internship with the co-operation of NGO
named MAA PREMA ORGANIZATION I have experienced 21
days of my vacation in the rural areas and gathered precious
information to the problems of the people living there. This
organization has a wonderful role in serving the need of the
people, education for the students who don’t have mere facilities
and safety of the people. I came to know the problems faced by
the people in the rural areas and how to be survived in these
conditions. By this internship, I became aware to the problems
in rural areas and social prospects.

1.INTRODUCTION
With the growing demand and high prices leading to the
under-development of the people in the rural areas, our NGO
mainly concentrates on serving the needy and the poor mainly
in the rural areas. With a group of nearly 30 members we
have started our journey to some of the villages situated
outside of Visakhapatnam. Our main aspect is to bring out the
humanity from the people residing in the remote villages and
give them a better knowledge about the things going in the

4.BACKGROUND
4.1. FORMATION:-
This NGO named “MAA PREMA ORGANIZATION” was
formed by MUKUND THOTA in 2011. He is pursuing
B.tech from NIT BILASPUR. He got the idea of starting a
NGO in his childhood. He can’t resist seeing the people in
rural areas without any facilities and he thought to serve
them when he grew up. When he entered his under
graduation level, he came up forward along with some
friends and elders to start a NGO to serve the needy. So his
ambition was succeeded after starting this NGO. He got the
chance to go to remote villages and serve the needy person
with what he was blessed. Under his management some
departments work to achieve the organization main aspects.
4.2. LEGAL STATUS:-
This NGO has branches in Visakhapatnam and Bilaspur.
It is registered under Societies Registration Act

5.2. PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN:-
During the 21 days internship in rural areas of
Visakhapatnam, I had visited 6 villages in my entire
journey. I was mainly concerned with some of the activities
like
Amrutha Kalasyam: Distribution of general items
to all the people in need of them.
Project Vikas: Providing qualitative and quantitative
Education for all.
Plantation Drive: Plantation of trees to reduce Global-
Warming.
Blood Donation: supply of blood to health victims.

5.3. IMPLEMENTATION:-
Amrutha Kalasyam Distribution:
This activity deals with the distribution of the necessary
daily wage items like food, raw materials, soap, paste and
some other daily accessories needed to live were supplied
to everyone in the village who can’t afford to buy. They
were all called to meet at the sarpanch’s house and were
distributed to everyone and they were fed up with some
tiffin’s and lunch etc.
AMRUTHA KALASYAM DISTRIBUTION

Plantation Drive:
This activity is the best of all. Due to the recent
“HUDHUD” cyclone, many of the plants and trees were
washed and blown away due to the high wind speed in the
east coast. This has done a major damage to the environment
and all the villages outside Visakhapatnam were affected a
lot. So we have planted many new plants and made the
villagers to take part in this activity and we succeeded.
Plantation by our organization members.

Project Vikas:
“Education is the key for development”. This is the main aim
of this project. This activity has been conducted in two
villages and by this we can enrich the knowledge of the
children in the rural areas who aren’t able to get a well
knowledge based education. They have learnt writing the
alphabets and numbers and spellings of some basic words. We
also gave tips for 10th
class students who are going to attempt
their board exams.

Blood Donation Camp:
There is no greater service than donating blood. This part of
the activity supplies blood to unhealthy and accident victims.
Whenever there is need of blood to any person, this collected
will be supplied to the victim for free of cost.

5.4. PROBLEMS DURING INTERNSHIP:-
(A) Transportation:
Due to the recent cyclone, all the roads leading to
the villages have been excessively damaged and
they were not repaired by the government. So
going to these villages made us difficult.
(B) Communication:
It became a big problem during our visit to
villages. Many of the people were not able to
understand what we are telling and some are like
they don’t listen to the outsiders. This made us a
bit difficult to cope up with them.
(C) Selfishness/Greediness:
We identified that most of the people are
somewhat greedy when we are supplying amrutha
kalasyam they were just quarrelling each other that
only some people have been given.

6. ACHIEVEMENTS
A total of 21 days were spent in the villages outside the
Visakhapatnam out of which we had visited 5 villages
and spent the respective days with the village people.
I had learnt the cultural diversity of rural areas and
Learnt how to spend time without modern accessories.
In every village, any of 10 members helped us to navigate
and they gave support to our NGO for its activites.
So many people were motivated by our speeches and
they tend to group with us and help with us.
