This book is a collaboration of over 200 Singaporeans and the Straits Times Press team. It was written to spark debates about Singapore's future among youths and adults. It addresses issues raised by younger, more critical populations and contains direct answers from Mr. Lee Kuan Yew himself. The book aims to uncover the hard truths and decisions Mr. Lee Kuan Yew faced that brought Singapore to where it is today through an in-depth look at his life and pressures as leader. Singaporeans should read this for a better understanding of how Singapore transitioned from a third world to first world country and Mr. Lee Kuan Yew's leadership in gaining freedom.

About the Book A notion set forth to uncover the hard truths our national “hero” has had to make in the past, bringing us what we have today. A in-depth look in the life of Mr Lee Kuan Yew, and the pressure he faced when making crucial decisions, or even making a statement. Reasons why Mr Lee Kuan Yew has been ever so hard on his political opponents, and the debate weather the People’s Action Party would ever lose it’s grip on power.
My Verdict Singaporeans should read this to have a better understanding about how Singapore is what it is today, how transitioned and developed from a third world country to a first world country. A book really worth reading, should you be Singaporean or not, care about it’s history or not, it’s compelling to hear directly from the man that brought freedom to a country through his leadership. Brings new perspective of not just Singapore, but also people, society as a whole. (Why I want the world to read this)
My Verdict Direct comments and words from Mr Lee Kuan Yew without much editing, retaining the genuine tone and way of speech of Mr Lee Kuan Yew, showing that he is just like anyone of us, human, but with great wisdom. It’s a Biography like none other, with questions asked from the press, with questions he himself addressed to, inviting the public to debate and judge for themselves through his perspectives (Why I want the world to read this) It is, for the first time, the private life of the Prime Minister is publicized openly, by Mr Lee Kuan Yew himself.
I would like the world take a look at the ‘little red dot on the map’, and see how we evolved as a nation, from the very man that fought for the nation’s freedom with his life, and how the world has been affected, be affected and would affect this ‘little red dot on the map’. This book is in it’s entity the uncut, uncensored perspectives and thoughts of Mr Lee Kuan Yew about Singapore, it’s past, present and future.
