Dr. Tapan Barui is presently working as an Assistant Professor of the Department of Library and Information Science, University of North Bengal since 2012. He has completed his B.Sc.(H) in Botany under the University of Calcutta. After that he has passed B.L.I.Sc and M.L.I.Sc. from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. He has achieved MPhil and awarded PhD in Library and Information Science degrees from University of Kalyani, Nadia and Jadavpur University, Kolkata.
Dr. Barui has written more than 15 articles and book chapters on various topics of Library and Information Science in reputed journals and edited books.
