INTRODUCTION TO DRAWING
Drawing is the simplest and most efficient way to communicate visual
ideas, and for centuries charcoal, chalk, graphite and paper have been
adequate tools to launch some of the most profound images in art.
Drawing is one of the oldest forms of human expression, with evidence
for its existence preceding that of written communication. Drawing is
used to express one's creativity, and therefore has been prominent in the
world of art.
The traditional role of drawing was to make sketches for larger
compositions to be manifested as paintings, sculpture or even
architecture. This process of drawing can instantly transfer the sense of
character to an image.
The artform in its own right as well as a foundation for other two and
three-dimensional works of art, even being incorporated with digital
media that expands the idea of its formal expression.
TYPES OF DRAWING
Just as there are different types of painting, there are also
different types of drawing, ranging from more
representational to more abstract. They can be broken down
into three different types: realistic, symbolic, and
expressive modes of drawing.
REALISTIC DRAWING :- Realistic drawing is the accurate depiction of
nature, objects, and general life, drawn in a photographic style.Drawing
realistically requires a keen eye and a super steady hand, along with the
ability to concentrate and focus entirely on the subject matter.
SYMBOLIC DRAWING :- symbolic art focuses on feelings, sentiment,
concepts and individuality rather than reality is what links the numerous
painters and forms connected with the symbolist movement.
EXPRESSIVE MODE OF DRAWING :- Expressive mode of drawing
experiencing life from many points of view all contained in the same
drawing. It often communicates ideas or emotions that are not visible or
tangible.expressive drawing captures movements and energy, feelings,
memories or even the spiritual realm.
FUNDAMENTALS OF DRAWING

etching, sculpting, and more. Students who develop a strong
