Monarchy
 Monarchy, Meaning ‘rule by one person’
 Monarchs usually inherit the throne from
their parents, so once the parents pass
away, usually the oldest son becomes a
monarch. So it practically passes from
generation to generation.

 The youngest ever monarch was Mary, Queen of scots
(1542-1587). She was just six days old when she
inherited the crown.
 King Bhumibol adulyadej of Thailand is the worlds
longest servimg current monarch. He came to the
throne on July 9, 1946
 But even he has some way to go to beat pharaoh

Theocracy
 Theocracy, meaning ‘rule by god’
 When a state uses the beliefs and scriptures
of a religion as the basis of its laws and
decision making.
 The leader works under the guidance and
authority of the religion.

Dictatorship.
 Dictatorship, Meaning ‘Rule by one person’
 When one person has complete control over
the state.
 A dictator holds all the power and set all
laws.

 Once in power, a dictator keeps strict
control in various ways.
 Even public organizations such as schools,
are under state control and give out
propaganda
 So citizens are only taught what the
dictator wants them to learn

Democracy
 Democracy, meaning “Rule by people”
 Democracy is different from all other forms
of government because people get to vote
for what is best.
 Governments and rulers need to be
accepted and supported by the people. If
people don’t like what the current
government is doing, they may vote for
someone else next time.

Anarchy
 Anarchy, meaning “without rule’
 Anarchists believe in a stateless society
where each individual has total
freedom.dfjkj
 There are no rules, no laws, and religion.
 Anarchy stands out from other political
ideologies because it has never actually
succeeded.
