socialBuy.cc (com.tw) socialShopper.cc (com.tw) It’s not a sales pitch. It’s an invitation to you. I want to work with a team whom believe this gonna works. Sincerley, Kimmy; chen.kimmy@gmail.com
My idea is.. Yes, I have this idea for a long time. A online shopping/entertainment website Aims at bring people out of home to enjoy their local activities in a big-saving way. It’s a win-win-win model. It encourages consuming in local, reducing the carbon emission by eliminating unnecessary goods shipped. It entertains consumers by offering the fun products/services instruction.
I’m not the first one There are couple entrepreneurs having make it work, and so well. See how they combine those ideas into a single platform – GROUPON.COM
You may hear about 百萬團購網 ( 地圖日記 ) Yes, it’s exactly a GROUPON.COM Taiwan version. It is just merged by GROUPON.COM See the news here: 台灣又一網路公司「地圖日記」,為美國最大團購網站 Groupon 網站併購。購案金額為三百萬美元,折合台幣近一億元 http://www.libertytimes.com.tw/2010/new/dec/2/today-e2.htm
AfterGORUPON.COM Through groupon.com is famous in North America, there are #2 and #3 named socialBuy.com and SocialShopper.com For me, it’s even more attractive, because it actually aims at leveraging the power of social media.
How “SocialBuy” works Pay attention on the key words “local activities”, “the deal is activated while the deal is good”, and its “methodology for merchants” .
I LOVE IT VERY MUCH becasuse: Group shopping x social media power = organically growing sales.
Group shopping x social media power = organically growing sales. A very simple formula. Group shopping brings products providers (hotels, restaurants, movie theatres, concerts etc..) a great volume of consumers. A great volume of consumers is borough by the great deal, spread out by Social media power. It’s a win-win-win for website owner (you), local shopper owners (restaurant, hotel, massage shop etc..), and consumers.
It’s not just group buying I love this model cuz it brings people out of computers, encourages people going out, not just buying things at home. We are selling services, promoting local services. We encourage people trying something new, in a big-saving price. For example, you want playing paintball with friends, you want to try sky diving, bungee jumping… Trying Laser Tag game
It’s resistant to CHEAP goods importing from developing countries 掏寶網來了 , 可以直接用支付寶買到超便宜的東西 , 那些只賣東西的網站便宜得過別人嗎 ? No.. Check out here http://taipei.kijiji.com.tw/f-Taobao-W0QQCatIdZ501681 WE WONT BE IMPACT CUZ WE SELL THINGS “LOCAL”, WE SELL “SERVICES”
Key expertise to make it successful? Appealing product/service introduction - no bullshit things, just cut to the point. AWESOME deals – something you wont find in any other online shopping mall. Exceeding-customers’-expectation experience – customers feel being pampered while shopping with us Friendly user interface / technology
I also need following expertise to make the business sustainable (1) Nice financial structure – I don’t have finance resource now, so I would rather start it by applying LEAN STARTUP. For the time being, I realize how important the “whom you are working with”. I would like to invite people who are passionate about entrepreneurship and willing to committee themselves giving 1 year to this project. And the return will be the shares of this company once it’s incorporated. Therefore, I will need someone who understand how to structure shares for a startup. It will reward people who contribute themselves in this first year. It will get involved incorporating companies across different regions, including Korea, Japan, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Frankly speaking, I need Corporate Finance guys or Accountants .
Potential customers’ profile Asian immigrants in North America They have different food or service preference from natives. Differentiation strategy: there are WalMart and SUPERSTORE, but there is still room for T&T and H-Mart They have different social media platform preference. While the most Chinese use renren.com and happymate.com, instead of facebook, and the most Koreans active on Cyworld. They love group buying.
Potential customers’ profile Can be tailored upon segmentations, because the “Private deal” function, which only allows people who are invited to join. VIP strategy. Penetrated a particular segmentation, for example, Bimmer lovers. Will try to paten “Private Deal” function.
