  • 2. For question 1a you need to read it like a graph and read figures off the axes and explain how the hurricanes have caused this change (waves and storm surge causing removal of the sand (erosion)).
  • 3. Question 1b involves using different examples of hazards (it doesn’t specify a type so you can use any) to show why it is often other things that make the difference (prediction, landuse, management, etc). It would be a good idea to mention the risk formula! Good examples to use would be the different earthquakes, volcanoes and hurricanes.
  • 4. Question 2a calls for you to talk about why more companies are in the developed countries, less in NICs and none in poor countries. It’s all about being connected to the global economy and history. It would be a good idea to count up how many are in the different countries.
  • 5. Question 2b is all about how TNCs make money and have spread globalisation. Use examples like Primark and Tesco.Figure 1Study figure 1 which shows how Coconut Beach in Dominica was affected by hurricanes in 1995.
