Aptitude
Aptitude is that ability to deal with aspects of the
environment and to perform a particular behaviour. It is
that natural ability to acquire skill in some specific field
or general knowledge.
Tests can help you:
 To be fairly assessed in a competitive situation
 To find out more about your strengths and weaknesses
 To select a career path for which you are suited
 To be comprehensively assessed for selection, development
or counselling purposes
 To select people best suited to the demands of the job
 To identify areas of weakness for staff development
 To counsel staff appropriately
 To place personnel appropriately within an
organisation
The initials IQ stand for intelligence quotient. An IQ test
is one of many tools designed to measure someone's
educational abilities. Many people will take an IQ test
at least once in their lives. Academic testing has certain
benefits that can help individuals make choices about
their educational abilities and potential career path.
 Identification of Strengths
An intelligence test can help someone identify their
academic strengths. A person may discover a previous
unknown verbal fluency, or become more aware of
numeric abilities or spatial perception understanding
 Identification of Weaknesses
The result of an IQ test can also help you identify areas
where you may have academic or cognitive deficits.
 School Placement
Administrators can use IQ tests to help with academic
placement. Students who are gifted in language acquisition
may be placed in classes with other quick readers.
 Help Disabled Students
Students who are found to have specific cognitive deficits as a
result of intelligence testing can get the help they need to
succeed in school. Educators can design a course of study
that helps students who may struggle with reading, math
skills or spatial perception awareness learn better.
Thank you
