Initial Plans

Initial Reaction
• I’m going to make a car magazine based on a range of reliable makes and models (E.g:
Ford Fiesta). To make the front cover, I will use photoshop as it allows me to edit images
and create the graphics I need. I will use a design font from flaming text to create the
masthead. When the front cover is complete I will screenshot it into In-Design.
• To make the double page spread, I will use In-Design to write the articles as it has more
writing styles and features than Photoshop. Although I have little experience with it, it
will give the chance to learn how to use it and gain more skills.
• On the front cover, I will have the title of the magazine, subheadings, images and
graphics which will tell the readers what will be in the magazine.
• On the double page spread, the layout will be columns. This will be to make it look
organised and professional. On these pages, there will be a range of different
subjects/articles to do with cars (e.g: Makes and models, Insurance & tax). I will include
images, graphics and text.
• I’m good at using Photoshop to edit images and create graphics. I have great knowledge
of what the tools are and what they do.

Mood Board
Mood Board Analysis
Is there any repetition in the images you have collected? Repeated
colours/images styles/fonts/tone/mood
There is a lot of white in the backgrounds of the images, which is why I
edited the image of the white car by putting a darker colour/themed
background behind it. Also, I edited it to give me inspiration for my
front cover. Two images have the same silver colour, but they are
completely different objects.
The design font I picked I will actually use in my magazine because it
looks very interesting, it will attract the audience’s attention and it will
stand out against the other features I’m putting in it.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
The graphics I put in my mood board will help me to draw my own in
Photoshop. The images will help me to make the photos I take look
shiny and very professional.
