This document provides a summary of key findings from a survey of over 2,400 IT professionals and 73 companies in Vietnam about salaries, benefits, and relevant tech skills in 2017. Some of the main findings include: - Demand for IT jobs in Vietnam has doubled over the past 3 years and is expected to continue growing significantly. - The highest paying tech skills are Objective-C, Ruby, Swift, Django and Scala. - Most IT professionals received an extra month's salary as a Tet bonus from their employers.

Our  report   IT  market  is  changing  very  fast,  our  survey   asked  IT  professionals  and  companies   beyond  salaries  in  order  to  gather  further   insights  about  benefits  and  tech  skills   relevant  in  today’s  scenario.   1 2,400+   IT  PROFESSIONALS   During  25th  November  to  2nd  December  2016,  we  conducted  a  survey  among   thousands  of  IT  professionals  and  companies.  We  have  also  analyzed  a  large   data  set  collected  from  IT  jobs  posted  at  VietnamWorks  during  the  last  5  years.   Where  does  the  data  come  from?   73   COMPANIES   50,000+   JOB  POSTS  ANALYZED

Benefits   Given  the  high  compeSSon  in  the  IT   market,  benefits  are  becoming  an   important  factor  to  aXract  and  retain  the   best  IT  professionals.  Companies  are   focusing  on  improving  office  spaces  to   make  employees  feeling  like  at  “home”.   But  employees  demand  more  career   opportuniSes  and  bonuses.   3 TRAVEL  ABROAD   Career  growth  opportuniSes   with  training  and  business   travel  to  USA,  Europe,  Japan   and  Australia.   FACILITIES   Open-­‐space  working   places  with  trees,   private  cafeteria,  huge   library,  yoga  class,  and   even  massage  area  to   give  relaxing  and   enjoyable  Sme  to   staff.   BONUS   Besides  13th  and  14th   payment,  IT  companies   offer  profit-­‐sharing,   stock  opSons  and  huge   referral  bonuses.   IT  professionals  feel  cared  and  appreciated  when  geang  relevant  benefits  from  their   employers.  Employee  Benefit  programs  focus  on  moSvaSon  and  recogniSon.  Popular   programs  include  flexible/remote  work  opSons,  mobile  devices,  wellness  &  fitness   programs  and  great  bonuses  opportuniSes.    But  what  are  great  companies  offering?   Why  Benefits  are  important?   FLEXIBLE  POLICY   Work-­‐life  balance  is   considered  as  the   most  important  value   to  minimal  overSme   working.  Flexible   working  hours  and   working  from  home   are  used  as  effecSve   engagement  method   in  IT  companies.
