Working Title:
What is it called? Super Star Bros
Audience:
Who is your audience? My audience is boys aged 16-19 who like Star Wars and Mario Games.
My game wouldn’t be suitable for younger people because it will involve some scenes that might
be violent. It will be a C2DE game because some people can’t afford it.
The use and gratification my game will use are enjoyment and entertainment. it will be more tense
than relaxing because of the challenges it will have.
The psychographics the game will involve are emulator, achiever, needs driven and type A
because of the actions and challenges it will involve.
Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc. Use the Audience Classifications
PowerPoint on Blackboard to help you develop this section.
Why would your project appeal to this person? My game will appeal to the audience because it will
have lots of challenges, which will be hard, but fun to do. Although it will be a pixel game, I will try
to make look as modern as I can because most people this age like games to look new and a high
quality. Discuss each audience element in relation to content (why would your product appeal to
the age group? Why would your product appeal to the gender? Etc.)
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
Review your progress throughout the year- what video game and Photoshop skills and knowledge
have you acquired? How will you use those skills? I made an advergame in Photoshop and
learned how to make a frame animation. I learned how to use premiere pro to edit videos and add
music and sound effects, and I learnt how to make sounds/music sound different using the reverb
tool.
I will use the reverb tool to make the sound effects echo, with the game being set in space. This
will make the sound effects more effective.
What was your advergame and how will it have a direct impact upon your project? It was a game
where two players played against each other. An Irn-Bru man and coca-cola man had to run
through a disco room collect their cans and get to the finish. Whoever was first was the winner. If
they ran into a bomb or were hit by an explosive, they died and had to start again. They had three
lives to complete the game in.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make? The game will have a Super
Mario Bros and Star Wars theme where a character has to run from start to finish. There will be a
number of paths they have to take to win. They will need to avoid storm troopers which will be
shooting from anywhere on the level, and it needs to avoid flying vehicles (millennium falcon &
spaceships). If these hit the character, they will die and need to restart the level. They will have 5
lives. If they lose all their lives, they will need to restart from the beginning if there is more than one
level.
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project/
I will look at both Super Mario Bros games to see what challenges they involve. I will try to make
mine different to these so the games aren’t too alike. I will do the same when I look at Star Wars
games as well.
I will watch clips of the real star wars and Lego Star Wars films, and listen to the music and sound
effects they use. I will make the sound effects I use sound effective, but different to what they use
in the film so they don’t sound too similar.

Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
How do you plan to evaluate the work?
I will write about what I did for my experiments and how they helped me to make the real game. I’ll
write about what I did for my research and how that helped me to make the game. I will write about
how I managed the time and whether I follow the schedule.
I will write about the strengths and weaknesses of the game and if it’s suitable for the audience.
Finally, I will write about what could be improved and what to do next time I make a game.
Reference conducting on-going evaluation (Production Reflections) and your final self-reflection
(Evaluation), analysing your work and its outcomes.
How will this process help developing your working practices as you continue with your
study/media career?
