Some people call it a donation.
We call it hope.
Thank you for being part of our family of
donors. Your commitment to Children’s
enables us to provide outstanding medical
care, pursue research breakthroughs and
serve the sickest children in our region.

When a family comes to Seattle Children’s, we
ask ourselves: ‘Can we give the family hope?
Do we have what we need to care for the
child? Can we find the cure?’ Because of you,
we can offer the very best to the children we
serve. Donors give us the tools to say yes to
hope, say yes to care, and say yes to cure.”
— Jeff Sperring, MD, Chief Executive Officer
“Thanks to you.

Look out world! Arabelle is on the move, thanks to a complex surgical procedure that has
helped her body’s rigid muscles relax. The 3-year-old was born with spastic cerebral palsy —
and her mom, Christine, participates in therapy sessions and eagerly awaits the day when
Arabelle will run for the first time.
Get more involved.
Meet one of your fellow
donors! Logan is an
11-year-old cancer
survivor who, along
with his younger
brother, brings holiday
gifts to kids who are
battling neuroblastoma.
His own fight with the
disease included eight
months of treatment at
Children’s and five more
months in a clinical trial
— but he and his family
are all smiles today.
When you make a gift…
You give families hope. Our doors
are always open for families in crisis
because of people like you, who
sustain our promise to care for
every child in our region who needs
us, regardless of their family’s ability
to pay. Patients travel from the
farthest reaches of Washington,
Alaska, Montana and Idaho — the
largest geographic area of any
children’s hospital in the country.
But we couldn’t help them without
you. Your commitment inspires our
team to bring the greatest effort to
children every day.
You speed the search for cures.
Investments in research open up a
world of possibilities — and bring
children closer to lifesaving cures.
Our scientists are pioneering
research on a multitude of issues,
including concussion prevention for
young athletes, gene therapy to
“turn off” deadly diseases and an
epilepsy drug that offers hope to
seizure-plagued patients. With your
help, we can introduce new medical
treatments and revolutionize
pediatric care — so children can
thrive, not just survive.
You help advance care. Whether a
child is coping with an emergency
or managing a chronic illness, your
giving ensures they have the best
shot at a long and healthy life. We
are the definitive resource for the
most complex medical situations
facing infants, children and teens in
our region. And we don’t stop with
making their bodies healthy — we
bring music, pets and play into the
equation, because laughter and fun
help heal the mind. When the whole
child is healthy, we know we’re
doing our job.
These things matter, and
they matter most to
families who are making
life-altering decisions
about their child’s health.
Thank you for helping
make Seattle Children’s the
right choice for them.
Your giving makes every milestone possible.
Our immunotherapy trial is using
T-cells to kill cancer — and curing
kids who were out of options. The
Strong Against Cancer initiative, led
by team captain Russell Wilson, is
raising dollars and awareness to put
this treatment over the goal line.
In 2015, U.S. News & World Report
ranked us among the nation’s best
children’s hospitals — and # 1 on
the West Coast. This gives families
peace of mind that their child will
have the best chance for recovery.
We never turn a patient from our
region away because of money.
Every year, we provide more than
$100 million in financial assistance
for families, because the last thing
that should stand in the way of a
child’s care is a bill in the mailbox.
Our state-of-the-art emergency
department accommodates more
than 40,000 visits each year, and
additional urgent care facilities
give families an “after 5” option
at a lower cost.

employee giving campaign — and also let them know about your gifts
to us, in case they have a matching program.

in action. It’s a mind-blowing experience!
• Become a monthly giver. Making a monthly automatic contribution is one
