South Coast is owned and operated by its parent company Spruce Grove Inc. Which
owns over 25 other businesses including apartment complexes, several other resorts,
storage facilities, a construction company and property management companies across
the nation. I support them all. In the last two years we have planned, designed, and
implemented a very robust centralized VM environment creating a single end user
platform which greatly reduced the need for IT personnel and which can be scaled for
ten years. We have also built two brand new resorts from the ground up and are about
to start building a new resort in Florida and in Texas this year as we continue to migrate
the rest of the enterprise onto the new VM infrastructure.

• Recommended and implemented new technologies including Solar Winds Orion
Network and Application performance monitors as well as redundant connectivity
solutions between sites that fulfilled business needs through increasing reliability
and decreasing down time to .01% in the last three years.
• Grew fledgling NT4 domain of three servers including Exchange 5.5 and no
firewall, into a resilient, powerful, and robust Windows 2003 Enterprise Server
domain in native mode with over 30 servers, four branch offices, and 42 remote
home users as the company grew three times over in just under a seven year
span.

for servers and other racked systems.

• Prepared, planned and implemented new network infrastructure for new building
acquisition including all telephone and data drops to ensure logical and straight
forward data and phone drop organization of location, labeling and
documentation.
• Designed and built new data centers, IDF’s and Server room environments that
accommodated growth in a logical way.
• Implemented first use of any helpdesk solution by the company there by
accelerating response time for end-user issues as well as provided the start of a
great knowledge base and also tracked all movements of IT personnel. Still used
in-house today, the solution has migrated its use to several departments ramping
up productivity over the entire enterprise.

PC Technician
End-user support, mostly with Microsoft Office or printer problems. Pulled CAT5 cable
to network drop locations and IDF’s according to network diagrams created by the
Network Administrator.
• Completely re-cabled entire campus with CAT5 from the former COAX 10Base-T
network infrastructure.
• Built Cisco Systems Lab from scratch. Deployed all new Dell PC’s in all
computer labs and resource centers over the entire campus requiring careful
imaging of all PC before deployment.
• Learned the art of designing and building an IDF, server room, or whole network
infrastructure from scratch including telephony and its standards.
