As members of the body of Christ, what is our role in fostering collaboration to increase patient access and higher quality care? Barbara Campbell, RPh, CCN, Executive Director, ReLink Global Health-The Dalton Foundation explores the experiences of establishing the Haiti Health Network, a collaboration of more than 500 healthcare providers.

As an organization following the teachings of Jesus Christ, The Dalton Foundation exists to bring the message of Grace and Salvation to everyone we encounter in our work.
We Believe… …you have to understand and know the market before you can implement sustainable change: • Many large-scale health systems strengthening solutions can be successfully and efficiently implemented. • Clinical programs can be connected to existing infrastructure and rolled out efficiently and effectively This Allows you to Implement:
Our Approach Support Empower Engage STEP TWO Educate, Connect, and Collaborate • Host regional and national conferences to bring players in the marketplace together • We do this in Haiti via Haiti Health Network • Via these forums we can: • Develop best practices • Offer trainings • Discuss practical solutions to problems • Reduce siloing and create community • Identify key leaders/ providers STEP THREE Develop and Implement Solutions • Using data collected and knowledge of key leaders in marketplace design programs that will have the most impact and effectiveness STEP ONE Understand the marketplace • Gather data on all organizations currently providing services and areas they serve including data on capacity to deliver services • Utilize relinkglobalhealth.org as tool • Analyze the data and use it to identify key problems and gaps in the marketplace

Creating connectivity and fostering collaboration increases access to care, improves quality of care, and enhances sustainability of services to benefit the people of Haiti This model and technology can be reused in many countries and in many contexts The strong backbone provides a network by which... Many large-scale health systems strengthening solutions can be successfully and efficiently implemented. Clinical programs can be connected to existing infrastructure and rolled out efficiently and effectively Help can be distributed quickly in times of disaster or crisis
Examples of projects that could be implemented through this model Bio-medical equipment management, repair, and training program Disaster preparedness and Emergency Response Electronic Medical Records Program Medication and Supply Distribution Program Community focused Dental Care and Hygiene Clinical Trainings ... potential for many more!
Use the data to Design a program that Will Identify best geographies to start Identify strategic pre-qualified partners • Take those doing good work to the next level of excellence • Take those struggling and bring them to a capacity level so they can serve more people with higher levels of care. • Standardized equipment and introduce it to the marketplace to dramatically increase quality of care. • Be comprehensive and include training and timely repair *Source- relinkglobalhealth.org 2019 Nord Est Haiti Department data Analyze Data* • Population of nearly 400,00 people • 43 facilities providing healthcare • 56% of facilities only have one full time physician or less on staff • One Bio-med working in the department • Six x- ray machines in entire department • 20% of clinics have no electricity at all
Medical Equipment Management Program Key Program Components • Develop local relationships and partnerships (steps one and two) • Develop import/customs plan • Develop distribution plan from port to partner • Standardize and centralize equipment donations • Target devices with the most impact on patient care given resource and environmental constraints (Partner surveys) • Manage installation plan • Provide clinical staff training • Scheduled bio-medical repair training and preventative maintenance to local market • Ensure there are in- country spare parts, accessories, and tech support to increase equipment up- time Goal: Multi year Program to Modernize and Standardize medical equipment in Haitien Health Care environment to improve access to care and quality of care
