Abstract:
The readymade garments (RMG) sector in Bangladesh is an important sector of the
nation's economy that gives employment to about 1.5 million workers and earns
about 86% of total foreign exchange. Considering the vital contribution of the
garment industry. There are about 4500 garments & 1000 Buying house in
Bangladesh. Bangladeshi garments needs thousands of technically competent human
resources. RMG search qualified person & BUFT & SMUCT ready to provide
qualified person. BUFT & SMUCT trainers are successful in their professional life
and many of the holding important position in the RMG sector; many are pursuing
their career abroad. To provide good quality Fashion education. To develop the
student ability to apply multi-disciplinary concepts, tools and techniques to solve
organizational problems.
Introduction:
 The Fashion Designer profession, has recently emerged as one of the most sort out careers
among the youths . Fashion Designer create designs for almost anything which is part of the
garment of men, women, and children. A good institute will ensure that along with the
requisite theoretical inputs, Recently several Institutes have started giving training of several
kinds, like Merchandising ,Knitwear Design & Technology, Apparel Manufacturing, Marketing
and Merchandizing. There are lots of Fashion university in Bangladesh BGMEA University of
Fashion & Technology (BUFT) and Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology
(SMUCT) is one of them. These Institutes are using world standard curriculum and
lethodology to build up sharp designers in the demanding Garments & Textile Sector home and
abroad
BGMEA University of Fashion &
Technology
Considering the vital contribution of the garment industry,the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers
& Exporters Association (BGMEA) has set up the BGMEA Institute of Fashion & Technology
(BIFT) in 1999. It started functioning in 2000 and was affiliated to the National University,
Bangladesh in 2001. BUFT, in collaboration with international organizations such as United
Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

Facilities
BUFT is situated in Uttara Model Town of Dhaka Metropolitan City. It occupies about 50,000
square foot of floor space of classrooms, laboratory, library, faculty rooms, auditorium,
students' common room, and office rooms. The laboratories include computer lab, CAD lab,
sewing lab, knit lab, textile testing lab, pattern lab, and product development lab.
There are 4000 books and journals in BUFT library. Students have the broadband internet
facilities free of cost. All classroom, library, laboratory, faculty rooms, office, auditorium are
air conditioned. Classrooms are fitted with overhead projectors, multimedia and other teaching
aids. BUFT has rented another building for campus 2 in Azampur where classes are being
taken. It occupies 8000 square feet.
Activities
BUFT students activity participate extracurricular and co curricular activities like:
•Organize and participate fashion shows
•Contribute BATEXPO fashion show by
•organizing and provide designed & dresses.

The aim of BUFT is to produce versatile and resourceful practitioners with scientific,
technological and social knowledge and equip them to overcome the challenge of the
21st Century
Vision Statement
BUFT proposed to establish itself as a "Center of Excellence" to produce technically
competent human resources for the RMG, Apparel and allied sector of home and aboard
emphasizing on innovation and creativity.

(Bengali: শান্ত-মরিয়ম সৃজনশীল প্রযুরি রিশ্বরিদ্যালয়) is a private
university established in 2003 under the 1992 Private University
Act. The university is located at Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was
named after Md. Imamul Kabir Shanto (founder and Chairman)
and his wife Tahmina Chowdhury Kabir (Mariam) (founder and
Vice Chairman).

Statement of problem
The BUFT & SMUCT is the leading fashion university in Bangladesh. Every year they are
produce lot of expert youth power for our RMG sector & contribute the global. Also they are
participant different international function. But they have steel lots of problem are as below.
 Both have no permanent campus.
 Lab facilities are not good.
 The performances of both university students in job sector are not good.
 Class rooms are not good.
Aim of the Research
 The research has the following objectives:
 To compare fashion education between BUFT & SMUCT.
 To find out whom will the best fashion university.
 To evaluate the measure for enforcement of these university.
Review of literature:
Some of the conversation and book are Article published different are review below-
 Face to face conversation of the both university students.
 To ask why student choice these university.
This research is very helpful for the students because it has clear explanation, comment and note
of the section.
Scope and Limitation:
This research is on the compare fashion education between BUFT & SMUCT. This research will
define the Student and will describe the importance and necessity of the Fashion education in
Bangladesh. However it has limitation that is it will concentrate only on the BUFT & SMUCT
student, not for other university.
Methodology
I collect the data for these researches which is both primary and secondary.
Primary Data:
 Face to face conversation of both university students.
 Register office of BUFT.
 Register office of SMUCT.
 Conversation to the public.
Secondary Data:
 Difference reference public document.
 Internet (WWW).
 Encyclopedia.
Significance
This research is very helpful both university students. To become a successful fashion designer,
you should know about the latest trends and tastes in this field. This field is highly competitive
and you need to be not just talented, but also very determined, ambitious and hardworking with
a good business sense. This research is help to all the student who studied in fashion education
in Bangladesh.
