Advantages: The advantages of making this film is that most of the important scenes will be
done inside such as the scenes Alice and Alex meet the parents. The other advantage is that
it's a short film that's based around a christian topic and it’s very new because it’s never been
done before. The props will be easy to get and the shot’s will be easy to perform.
Disadvantage: Getting the actors will be hard because they can drop out unexpectedly. The
short film might be longer than 10 minutes. It will likely end up being roughly 20-45 minutes
because of the content the script will have; taking this to account this means that the production
may
take
over 3
months
leaving
little
time for
work in
product
ion.

Males and females aged 20-35. The geo demographic of the audience would be in large
cities and small towns. They would be finishing university and they would be working full time in
jobs as a way of making a living. The socio-economic grouping of this audience is D-C1. The
psychographics are aspires and successors as they have life goals and targets to achieve in
life.
Binary opposition:
The conventional binary opposition of drama is mainly hope and despair. In the beginning he
has lost all hope and is despair. The other binary opposition is successes and failure. The
brother is seen as the successful son in the family whilst James is seen as the failure causing
him to be an outcast of the family.
Mise en scene
Location: House, beach, Office, apartment, empty street.
Types of shot: Medium shot, Long shot, dolly zoom, low angle, high angle, establishing shot, 2
shot, close up, extreme closeup, panning and moving shot.
Props: pen, journal, mobile phone, scarf, glasses, watch, pocket watch.
Advantages: The story will be relatable as the audience will understand the character’s
environment and emotion. The majority of the props are easy to get and they will be cheap.
Given the time of the year natural light won’t be a problem because it isn’t as bright as it is in
summer.
Disadvantage: the problem is that the weather will be cold and that we will have to shoot the
majority of the scenes during afternoon. The sun goes down around 3 pm making it time
constraining. Some of the props like a pocketwatch may need to be ordered during pre
production because they might take weeks or the worst months to arrive and it maybe
expensive.
