Schools, skills, and learning: The impact of COVID-19 on
education
Simon Burgess, Hans Henrik Sievertsen 01 April 2020
The global lockdown of education institutions is going to cause major (and likely unequal) interruption in students’ learning; disruptions
in internal assessments; and the cancellation of public assessments for qualifications or their replacement by an inferior alternative.
This column discusses what can be done to mitigate these negative impacts. Read Here

COVID-19: Managing the human and business impact of coronavirus
COVID-19 is pushing companies to rapidly operate in new ways, and systems resilience is being tested as never before. As
businesses juggle a range of new systems priorities and challenges― business continuity risks, sudden changes in volume, real-

issues and lay a foundation for the future. Read Here
The Problem Statement
Report credit - Accenture
When the social distancing will end?
The Problem Statement
WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus strongly warns
against lifting social distancing measures too soon.
"The last thing any country needs is to open schools and businesses, only to be forced to close them again because of a resurgence."
https:// abcn.ws/39idJK8
Relaxing social distancing measures while the virus is still circulating in the community would be a bit like having a
wine-and-cheese party in the middle of battling a mouse infestation.
Now, the good news!
Covid-19 impact: Ed-tech companies reap dividend as schools,
universities go online
Online users who have enrolled with online learning courses on cyber security, Cloud, DevOps, AI and data

The company has seen a 10x growth in the number of users signing up ever since the outbreak. The spike has been
witnessed across all school grades, with the highest spike seen for JEE, NEET courses.

The
Bloom’s Taxonomy of
Learning
Remember
Understand
Apply
Analyze
Evaluate
Create
Bloom's taxonomy is a set of three hierarchical
models used to classify educational learning
objectives into levels of complexity and specificity.
The three lists cover the learning objectives in
cognitive, affective and sensory domains.
The cognitive domain list has been the primary focus
of most traditional education and is frequently used
to structure curriculum learning objectives,
assessments and activities.
