DUE: On the Friday EVERY fortnight (beginning Term 3, Week 2)
EXPECTATIONS
● Choose to complete 1-2 activities per fortnight.
● Activities that are shaded are expected to take longer to complete, therefore students
are only expected to do only ONE activity.
● The expectation set is that the work you hand in will be your ​BEST​ work. Whether it
is constructed, on paper or presented digitally, ensure it is quality work - the best that
you are capable of doing!
● You may hand work in by: personal delivery to your teacher, submit via Edmodo OR
emailing Miss Delany at ​juliad@thegardens.school.nz​ (please put “Homework” in the
subject line)
● Each student is also expected to:
○ read atleast 20 minutes, 5 times per week and keep a record by completing
their Reading Log on ​www.reading-rewards.com
○ participate regularly in Mathletics ensuring they earn a minimum of 1000
points each week. Aim for 2000 points!!
○ complete 8 activities (2 per day, Monday to Thursday) using the
www.SpellingCity.com​ app with words from their spelling list
● Keep a track of what you’ve completed by typing the date in the box.

from supermarket brochures what
you would buy and what you would
pack for your lunch for 5 days.
Remember to be healthy.

Look at the prices and find the most

sort by price if you can’t make it to
the supermarket.

It’s time to start saving and buying

bargain you can buy. Record the

PUBLIC TRANSPORT
One way to save money is using public
transport regularly, rather than
running a car. This is possible for
some people and not for others.
Create a PMI for using Public
Transport, e.g., bus, train

select 5 items. Cut them out and glue
them in (or take a photo). What is
their original price? What is their
discounted price? Work out how much
money you would save (the difference
for each)?
ACTING IT OUT
Act out a transaction between a
customer and a sales assistant,
checkout operator etc. Write a
script (play). Think carefully about
the language used.
Video it or act it out in front of
your class.
