2. Career Path For Certified Tumor Registrars
With a great passion for healthcare and helping others, I started my healthcare career by enrolling
in the Paramedic Certification Program through Johnston Community College after I graduated
high school. After six years of working as a Paramedic with the Johnston County Emergency
Medical Response System, I decided to go back to school to further my education in healthcare and
work toward obtaining a Master s Degree as a healthcare professional. I now occupy a position in
Patient Services Administration with Johnston UNC Healthcare as the CancerAccreditation Analyst
where I oversee all aspects of the cancer accreditation processes and procedures and work closely
with all oncologystaff and physicians to insure compliance with the Commission on Cancer (CoC)
Standards. With healthcare being so broad, even within the Oncology setting, I have researched the
Cancer Registrarprofession to get a better understanding of what a cancer registrar does. I work
closely with Johnston Health s cancer registrar but I still do not know what all is involved in her
chosen career path. Certified Tumor Registrars (CTR s) are data information specialists that
apprehend a complete history, diagnosis, treatment, and health status for every diagnosed cancer
patient in the United States, as well as some other countries. These professionals work closely with
all oncology related staff and hospitals to compile the data needed to provide indispensable

British Columbia is a rich and fertile land located next to the Northwest Territories. We believe

5. Presentation of Phaedra and Nurse in Hippolytus
Class Civ Discuss the presentation of Phaedra and nurse in Hippolytus. How sympathetically
does Euripides present these characters? Euripides presents the characters of Phaedra and Nurse
in Hippolytus as two ends on a moral spectrum; Nurse having a pragmatic approach to the tragedy
orchestrated by Cypris while Phaedra takes the idealistic view. It s Phaedra s idealistic morals
which make her such an interesting comparison to Hippolytus as they both conceive themselves
and are portrayed as virtuous people, yet the contrast is their different perceptions of being
virtuous. Yet sympathy wise Phaedra attracts a lot more sympathy than Nurse as Euripides portrays
as the start of the play how these events are completely out of mortal... Show more content on

This creates a feeling of sympathy as Nurse not only accepts Phaedra s problem (not straight
away) but seeks to solve it rather than just let Phaedra die. She says find way to control your
sickness implying that it can be controlled rather than just being lost in or denying completely.
Because of her pragmatic nature she in inclined to work around a problem rather than just seeing
it in black and white meaning that she is able to convince Phaedra that there is hope and that she
doesn t have to die and leave her children and husband. It s this that creates sympathy for Nurse
as she does everything out of a kindness for Phaedra that would be quite unusual for a slave to
harbour for a noble. Even when she does bring about Phaedra s tragedy by telling Hippolytus it
is not out of anything malicious but out of a kindness to try and resolve a difficult situation and
even Phaedra recognises this when she says It was a friend s act but not a noble one to try and
cure my sickness . Presenting Nurse as not evil at all but merely having an error of judgement
making the audience sympathise with her because of her meaning well and trying to do the right
thing. In conclusion Euripides does present both characters sympathetically but focuses more on
Phaedra as for the first half of the play she seem like the tragic heroine even though the play is
named Hippolytus. Phaedra is portrayed with sympathy

love. This case leads to a national disagreement on euthanasia. It is one of many cases about
euthanasia. Should it be a legitimate right? This paper is going to explain the reason why I think
euthanasia ought not to be legal. The first premise will argue that voluntary euthanasia is the start
of a slippery slope. Then, the position of Immanuel Kant towards euthanasia will be discussed in the

He is convinced that reason might be revealed in three principles of morality: goodwill, duty,
and categorical imperative. For Kant, good goes hand in hand with will. Nothing is good except
for a good will (Kant 9). For instance, courage is not good if it is used for evil purpose as hurting
someone and being proud of it. However, will, the capacity to act from principle, is also related
to duty. Moral worth can only be obtained if we act from duty. In other words, an action does not
have a moral worth if you do not act from your duty. But, What determines our duty? The
categorical imperative by Kant answer that questions and provides us with the response to What
makes a moral right? or, What makes euthanasia right? He states, in his first formulation of the
Categorical Imperative, that we are ought to act in a way that the maxim of our actions can
become a universal law of conduct. In his second formulation, Immanuel Kant asserts that we
should act in a way to behave with others, as we would like to be treated ( 229). Therefore, we
have no right to formulate a maxim such as: If I am in a really bad condition, I have the right of
being euthanized; since it cannot form a universal law. Furthermore, we should not to dehumanize

7. The Blues Eyes Analysis
The Blues Eyes is a story of a black girl named Pecola who dreams of having the ideal family
portrayed in the story of Dick and Jane the white American family: She comes to realize that this
life she dreams of is unattainable since she is black in a white society. She is enamored with
Shirley Temple, a beautiful blue eyed white girl. Pecola feels that if she has blue eyes she would
be beautiful and endearing to others. Morrison s novel describes how Pecola and her family
strive to live up to the white standards that are imposed on them by a white society but find this
goal to be unattainable. Pecola is made to feel that her blackness is ugly and not valued, only to
have her feeling validated by others. Despite what she experiences, Pecola never gives up on her
dream of beautiful blue eyes, only leading her into despair. The story begins with the description
of Pecola s family: they live in a storefront because they were poor and blackand they stayed there
because they believed they were ugly (Morrison 38). Unfortunately, Pecola s feelings of ugliness
are reinforced by her own parents; her father Cholly s ugliness came from his despair, dissipation,
and violence directed toward pretty things and weak people (Morrison 38). Pecola s Mother
Pauline states that But I knowed she was ugly. Head full of pretty hair, but Lord she was ugly

9. The Manipulation Of The Narrator In Wallace s Northanger...
To further paint Henry as an oppressive and antagonistic force, Wallace likens his reductive
generalizations to the narrator s reductive generalizations of readers. For example, Wallace
claims that at the beginning of Northanger Abbey, the narrator quickly posits two kinds of
readers, one the naive reader of romance who would expect a heroine to be an orphan and to
engage in the more heroic enjoyments of infancy, nursing a dormouse, feeding a canary bird, or
watering a rosebush, and the second a more sophisticated reader who rejects romance and who
knows a parody when he sees one (Wallace 262). According to Wallace, the narrator holds a black

According to Wallace, throughout the text the narrator has been trying to manipulate the reader s
expectations (Wallace 266). The idea of the narrator manipulating the reader s expectations
closely mirrors the idea of Henry manipulating Catherine s responses. Additionally, Wallace
claims that following these aggressive manipulations, both Catherine and the reader experience
doubts, instability, and lack of confidence (Wallace 266). Wallace even provides violent imagery
of both Henry and narrator as antagonistic oppressors, alleging that the language of struggle and
capitulation used in passages involving Henry and Catherine also demonstrates what the
authoritative narrator can do to an insecure reader, who may contend and resist but is eventually
made captive to the narrator s will (Wallace 268). Moreover, Wallace uses this language of
oppressor and oppressed engaged in a violent physical battle again when she describes the
relationship between narrator and reader as one in which the reader becomes an opponent who
struggles with the narrator for control over the text (Wallace 262). Through her diction, Wallace
illustrates images of both Henry and the narrator as violent and oppressive antagonists who force
Catherine and the reader into a position where they lose the ability to think for

To what extent was grass roots activism a significant reason to why the Civil Rights Movement

The civil rights movement grew for a number of reasons during the 1950 s and 1960s. Prior to
this select time period America were fighting in the Cold War and many black soldiers battled in
the name of freedom . This was ironic as these black soldiers were fighting for something that
they didn t even have back home. Often Black soldiers talked about the Double V Campaign ;
this was referring to victory in the war and victory for civil rights back home in the USA. Many

This organisation supported much more aggressive actions and believed in self defence and
retaliations against white mobs and policemen. Huey Newton s main aim was: An immediate end
to police brutality and the murder of black people. The Black panthers appealed to the new
generation of blacks and those who had generally a more aggressive view on the situation. The fact
that different parties existed meant that the CRM had more supporters as it has supporters from
both violent and non violent sides; this in the big picture benefited the cause for CRM and helped
it grow.
The change in president s actions and beliefs also helped the growth of the CRM. Presidents
such as Truman and Eisenhower began to take action overruling states inactions to ignore the

how president s attitudes were changing is the little rock nine cases in Arkansas, 1957. When

The integumentary system is a very important part of living. It consists of the skin and its

skin alone weighs more than six pounds and covers more than three thousand square inches. The
skin to me is considered customizable because you can alter it in many different ways. Many
people pierce the skinon the ears, face, navel, and genitalia. They also tattoo their skin with

This is because there are millions of nerve endings in the skin that act as sensory receptors. There
are many different sensations you can experience, including pain, hot, cold, pressure, traction, and
many more. Each nerve ending will give you a different sensational experience when the nerve
sends the individual impulse to the brain. When the impulse gets in to the cerebral cortex of the
brain, your body reacts in the appropriate way. If you experience pain, for example, you might cry.
The fourth function of the integumentary system is absorption. The most common use of the
absorption factor is through the use of a transdermal patch. A transdermal patch, not to be
confused with a dermal patch, is a medicated adhesive patch that is placed on the skin to deliver a
certain dose of medication through the skin and in to the bloodstream. An advantage of this
method of intake is the dosage intake is controlled by body heat melting away layers of medication
embedded in the adhesive bandage, which is a time advantage. A disadvantage is a very effective
barrier and sometimes the medication is not absorbed enough to be affective. Transdermal patches
are placed on several parts of the body, depending on what treatment you need. Many transdermal
medications include a type of birth control contraceptive and a medication that prevents motion
sickness. The fifth and final function of the nervous system is secretion. The skin contains millions

The results of the study concerning the ventilatory variables of ergoreflex may be attributed to the
expected changes caused by the application of an eight week program of low frequency
neuromuscular stimulation such as an alteration of skeletal muscle fiber distribution, a more oxygen
uptake kinetics and decreased sympathetic hyperactivity.
The results of the study were also consistent with the results reached by Piepoli et al., 1996 trying
to correct ergoreflex hyperactivity and bring it closer to normal by performing six weeks of
localized forearm training by patients with symptomatic chronic Heart Failure7.
Piepoli s study provided clinical support that such localized training did not only increase the
exercise capacity of the trained forearm but also partially corrected the exaggerated responses to
exercise via a reduction of this reflex contribution. Responses to the abnormal ergoreflex of CHF
patients were partially reduced regarding ventilation by 57.6% without causing significant
alterations in VO2 or VCO2 which was expected due to the limited nature of training as the study
only included the forearm muscles.
In addition, the changes following LF NMES in the current study were consistent with the results of
the systematic review stated by Sillen et al. 2013 which reported that submitting patients to LF

Throughout the 1960s there was a cultural phenomenon that started in the United States and spread
like wildfire to multiple other cultures in the world. This phenomenon was also known as
countercultures. This decade raised the 76.4 million Americans born during the baby boom
generation. The babies of this boom entered their teen years during the 1960s and they definitely
embraced a multitude new standards, dramatically different from the way their parents were raised.
While some encompassed new ideals in dress, music and movies others joined countercultures and
rebelled against the social norms with poetry, novels and art. Three of the most altering
countercultures were the Hippies, the Sexual Revolution and the Gay Liberation.
These three countercultures emerged around the same time, but had prominently different agendas
and played huge roles in shaping the American culture. What effects did the Hippies, Sexual
Revolution and the Gay Liberation countercultures have on American society, why did they emerge
and what were their objectives?
One of the most distinctive countercultures of the very colorful decade of the 1960s were the
hippies. The hippie s counterculture developed during the 1960s in the Haight Ashbury district of
San Francisco. The hippies adopted the language and counterculture values from the Beats

A Magritek NMR spectrometer along with MNOVA software was used to obtain the 1H NMR
spectrum by inserting an epi tube containing CDCl3 solvent with 60mg of dissolved 4 bromo N
4 (chlorophenyl)methylene] benzenamine from the purest sample obtained from the reaction
using molecular sieves into the spectrometer. Once the tube was inserted, proton protocol was
selected with parameters of CDCl3 as the solvent and it underwent a quickscan to acquire the
spectrum. When the scan was completed the spectrum was transferred to the MNOVA software
for process, label, integrate, and summarized the collected peaks. The IR spectrum was obtained
using a different machine since the Magritek NMR spectrometer used only produced 1H and
13C NMR spectrums from samples placed in an epi tube. The IR spectrum was recorded using a
Nicolet iS5 FT IR spectrometer and OMNIC software. A small about of sample was placed on
the ATR crystal and pressure was applied to allow for the clearest spectrum possible. Infrared light
was emitted by the pressure device to penetrate the sample and produced the necessary peaks to
identify the structure. First, the background without the crystal being in contact with any pressure
or sample was collected, but not saved to the spectrum; hence, only the spectrum of the sample
itself was displayed for the sample s spectrum. When the actual sample s spectrum was collected,
the peaks were found by the OMNIC software by choosing the button find peaks. The only IR

22. Maximum Phonational Frequency Range Case Studies
Maximum Phonational Frequency Range (MPFR) is described as the maximum range of
phonation between a client s lowest modal/chest register tone and highest loft tone/falsetto register.
The MPFR is typically determined by using a pitch matching procedure. Ms. Noid will be
instructed to sustain a vowel (i.e. /a/) matching the pitch of a presented tone (i.e. sine wave). She
will start phonation at a comfortable frequencylevel, and will incrementally increase her frequency
range production, until she can no longer sustain phonation. Then, Ms. Noid will be instructed to
incrementally decrease her frequency range until her modal phonation can no longer be sustained.
The rationale for using an MPFR measure is to explore the physical condition of the phonatory
mechanism. Furthermore, it is a way to quantify the client s frequency variability, measured through
an entire range of frequencies (i.e. highest to lowest), which are produced with maximal effort.

Ms. Noid will have a constrained phonational frequency range of approximately 1 2 octaves,
reflecting a physiological limitation and impaired vocal mechanism, due to a unilateral vocal fold
paralysis. She will be unable to transition between low to high frequency ranges, and exhibit a vocal
quality characterized as breathy and hoarse.
3.Frequency Perturbation (jitter) is an indicator of the stability of phonation. It is a measurement of
cycle to cycle variability in fundamental frequency. Typically, results are acquired from a three
second mid segment sample of a sustained phonation task, avoiding phonatory onset and offset.
Fundamental frequency and intensity values should be specified since they vary, affecting the
Frequency Perturbation (jitter) values.
The rationale for measuring jitter is that it provides objective measures for distinguishing a normal
from a disordered voice, and estimates vocal

Generations Series Book 1 Gray Hats By: Joseph Lieber and Zachary Hammerman Once, there
was a boy named Tom Tapia. He was about 10, almost 11. He loved to play games like
Stare_Woofs, or really any hacking game. When he grew up... he was a hacker, a black hat one.
He started out as just a script kiddy, in high school, changing his grades and charging other
students to change theirs. Then he grew more and more intelligent. He learned how to hack in
C++, then all forms of Java, then Lua, and eventually every programming language. By the time
he was 25, he was a very skilled hacker, even attempted the white house once, almost made it
when the daily system reboot threw em out. One day, he heard a knock on his apartment door
while he was playing Stare_Woofs 3. At this point he was 31 years old. This is the CIA. Open

Imagine... What it would be like to be to start again? What it would be like to spend weeks and

from the terrible conditions and diseases that they have been exposed to? When asked questions
about things we have never experienced before it is hard to give a proper answer, all you can do
is assume and imagine but you can never give an exact precise response. So when asked if
Australia was a Fatal shore for everyone or if it was a land of opportunity, all you can do is
assume and imagine based on the available information provided because you don t really know
the answer because you have not experienced it firsthand. From the information provided,
Australia was more of a Fatal Shore than it was a land of opportunity. For both convicts and free
settlers life in Australia was extremely harsh. The lifestyle of Australia was extremely different to
the environment that they were used to back home in England and it would have been hard for
them to adapt to. However life in Australia wasn t all that bad, for most of the convicts it was a
second chance at life and for the free settlers it was a great opportunity to make their fortune. The
working conditions that the convicts in early colonial Australia had to endure were incredibly
severe. The working environment that the convicts suffered is evidence of the brutality that existed.

26. Summary Of Virginia WoolfA Room Of One s Own
The creativity and ideas of women have been stifled and ignored since the beginning of time.
Seen as the weaker, less intelligent sex women were not believed to be able to create important
works, especially those of literary importance. In A Room of One s Own by Virginia Woolf, the
author expresses a simple ideathat women need at least a room of their own to produce the work
that they have been told they are unable to. Through stories of her thoughtprocess to reach this
conclusion, Virginia Woolf concludes the idea that people should think of things in themselves
(39) and in doing so presents a challenge to both sexes to understand what she argues are the
causes and problems stemming from lack of economic freedom for women and social paradigms
that hinder the act of truly thinking independently. Woolf s concept of free thinking stems from
her questioning of the instincts of men and their ability to do whatever they want to further
themselves and have their own opinions and possessions, and while she feels bad for them at
first she realizes the freedom they have. Her idea of free thinking grows from her new found
economic independence given to her by her aunt. Before receiving her inheritance Woolf could be
found doing odd jobs around town that she does not describe in any detail the hardness of the
work, for you know perhaps women who have done it; nor the difficulty of living on the money
when it was earned, for you may have tried (37). It s interesting that Woolf

were many ways to create a panorama such as using glass plates, prints, swing lens cameras,

tricked the eye to see a moving object. This article introduced me to John Banvard who was a man
that combined sketches and canvas into large scale moving panoramas. He worked as a scene

Banvard traveled through Europe to display his innovative exhibits. While on his travel he gave

Josephine s father abandoned them shortly after her birth and her mother married a kind but

until she got a job waitressing at The Old Chauffeur s Club when she was 13 years old. While

Josephine battled two other women for the title of the most photographed woman in the world,
and by 1927 she earned more than any entertainer in Europe. She starred in two movies in the
early 1930s and moved her family from St. Louis to Les Milandes, her estate in Castelnaud
Fayrac, France. A 1936 return to the United States to star in the Ziegfield Follies proved
disastrous, despite the fact that she was a major celebrity in Europe. American audiences
rejected the idea of a black woman with so much sophistication and power. Newspaper reviews
were equally cruel (The New York Times called her a quot;Negro wench quot;), and Josephine
returned to Europe heartbroken. She served France during World War II in many ways. She
performed for the troops, and was an honorable correspondent for the French Resistance
(undercover work included smuggling secret messages written on her music sheetsin invisible

Will Cty. Cmty. Action Agency, 847 F.2d 430 (1988); Henry v. First Nat. Bank of Clarksdale, 595
F.2d 291 (1979). An agency s claim to an interest in propertyafter the trustee has gone bankrupt or
lost the mortgage is recognized by the courts, but may vary based on the terms of the grant. The less
discretion the grantee has to spend the funds from a grant the stronger the Governments interest
claim. Courts will enforce a federal interest in a property, even when it is not recorded and if a
federal agency is found to hold a legitimate interest in the property than sovereign immunity is
applied and it is immune from attachments. See E.g., Wilcox v. Jackson ex dem. McConnel, 38

They said it fought against the discrimination so common in their society. They thought they could

34. Compare And Contrast The Writing Style Of John Steinbeck
Authors have very versatile writing styles that contribute to getting their messages and themes
across. An author always has a motive for writing a story and a point they are trying to get
across. John Steinbeck has written some very influential novels in his life. These books are read
in high schools, as well as in people s free time to try and expand their minds and change their
perspectives on life. Steinbeck has a very descriptive writing style that helps make his books
classic novels worth reading.
Steinbeck is a writer that does a great job of not just blatantly telling the reader what he wants
them to know, but making comparisons and inferences that get the reader to think and develop
their own opinions, which is he ultimate goal of the author. I read East of Eden this past summer.
In East of Eden, Steinbeck paints the picture of two families, the Hamilton s and the Trask s, and
he describes their lives and how they end up eventually meeting and co existing in the Salinas
Valley in California. East of Eden has many parallels with the story of Adam and Eve s sons, Cain
and Abel. This is an example of Steinbeck using parallels and comparisons of real life occurences to
help illustrate his story and message. But the two books I d like to focus on in this paper are Of
Mice and Men, and Grapes of Wrath.

Steinbeck and Olive Hamilton. His mother was formerly a

38. The Phenomenon Of Violent Political Islamism
3. Discuss the phenomenon of violent political Islamism. What are its origins, aims and grievances?
How ought we to deal with the phenomenon?
Political Islam, or Islamism, is the instrumental use of Islam to pursue socio political objectives.
Islam in this case is not merely a religious construct, but a political ideology. Individuals, groups,
and organisations pursue political ideas and programs based on Islamic principles and concepts.
They aim to implement Islamic law (Sharia) in both the public and private domain. Islamism is
often mobilised in existing political issues, and has become a vehicle and vocabulary for the
expression of many different agendas in the Muslim world . It is the most dominant ideology in the
Muslim world.
While not all political Islamism is violent, it is undeniable that violent extremism occurs in the
Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia. In this essay, I analyse the phenomenon of violent
political Islamism, focusing on the Middle East. I investigate its macro level historical and political
origins, and the micro level factors which influence the use of violence. I discuss its aims and
grievances, and provide suggestions on how to deal with this phenomenon.

39. The Impacts Of The 18th And 18th Amendments
The Eighteenth and Nineteenth Amendments The Eighteenth Amendment states that, one year
after the states ratified the article, the making, selling, and importing or exporting of alcohol is
illegal unless for medicinal or religious reasons. Congress can pass any laws it finds necessary to
uphold the Eighteenth Amendment. If Вѕ of the states did not ratify the article within seven years,
then the article would not take effect. (18th Amendment)
One impact of the Eighteenth Amendment was the end, in theory, of the sale and consumption of
alcohol. America had just returned from World War Iwhen Prohibition was started. The men had
gotten addicted to morphine and heroine and could no longer buy those drugs so they bought the
cheapest thing they could find alcohol. This started a wave of drunkenness across the country and
the women were not happy. The women had taken men s place in the workforce while they were
gone and, when the men came back, they lost all their jobs to the men. But, the men were not
working. Instead, they were getting drunk all day, trying to forget what they saw at war. This
angered women greatly. Because the women had gained power from working the men s jobs during
the war, the women used their power to promote Prohibition across the country.
Another impact of the Eighteenth Amendment is the rise of organized crime. It is the law of
supply and demand. When the supply of a product, alcohol, goes down, the demand for it goes up.

The False Memory Task begins by giving examples of how memory of events can be incorrect,
although we might not be aware of it. The goal of this task is to clearly show how easy it is for
our memories to have false information. We are often convinced that our memories are correct,
especially when they seem to be logical and contain a lot of detail. However, errors in memory
are easily made and far more frequent than the majority of people realize. This ZAPS experiment
approaches false memory errors in a way where it is easy to point out, and create, false memories.
The procedure is simple. On the computer screen, twelve words are revealed one word at a time in

In my theory, confusion was the key element. Transplant errors, explained by the Cognition text
book, were likely to take place. Transplant errors are the process of confusing elements from one
memory with elements from another. I was positive that this ZAPS task would have elements that
would purposely confuse participants, thus creating false memories.
After the first and second list appeared, I quickly realized that each list was categorized by
theme. This knowledge helped me to organize the words contained in each list. My articulatory
rehearsal loop captured words as they were presented, although I only had one chance to say
them before another word appeared. Instead of trying to store all twelve words in the
articulatory rehearsal loop, I kept track of the theme of the list and applied my prior knowledge
of the subject and my schema to the entire list. This allowed me to file away each word under
one subject, and therefore only one slot in my articulatory rehearsal loop was used. When it came
time to recall the words, I recognized words that had been relevant to that list. If a word fit the
context of the list, I selected it.
However, in selecting every word that was relevant, I grew increasingly unsure if I had actually
seen the word, or if the word was the category I had created in my working memory. For example,
one of the lists was concerned with the universe, so in the matrix I chose every word that was

This will not be one more lament for the sad state of contemporary American poetry. Yet to define

For poetry to achieve cultural currency, in both senses of that term, it may have to find ways of
reconciling the energies of romantic lyricism to overtly rhetorical ambitions and strategies.
It will take me a long time to get to those ambitions because I first have to clarify plausible ways
of using the concept of poetry s relations to a public world, and then I have to use that discussion
in order to dramatize the problems of mediated culture that demand those new strategies. Criticism
now seems divided between two basic understandings of how poets can evade romantic lyricism
and directly address public worlds. The first is fundamentally agenda based. Here poetry s relation
to the public world consists in its efforts to offer timely statement or testimony responding to
pressing social issues, usually as an effort to represent the interests of a specific community. The
second option forgoes this emphasis on specific thematic concerns in order to stress instead the
overall stances that poets develop. From this perspective it matters less what you say than how you

president under the Constitution, not the first president of the United States. From the very
beginning, he came into a job full of problems and a mile long to do list. He had to set up the
Judiciary Branch, deal with uprisings and conflicts between the natives and the western settlers,
and try to keep together a nation that was falling apart. He created a group of advisors (the
cabinet) to help him with certain issues. He had a few things on his mind at the time such as: stay
out of a war, build up revenue to pay off Revolutionary War debt, and try to make peace with

The Judiciary Act of 1789 established a six member supreme court. It was comprised of one Chief
Justice and five Associate Justices. It had jurisdiction over all civil actions between states, or
between a state and the United States. Also in the act it created thirteen Judicial Districts. Within
these Judicial Districts were circuit courts and district courts.
After finishing the Judicial Branch, Washington finally got time to create the Executive Branch. The
first offices created were the Secretary of the State, (headed by Thomas Jefferson) the Secretary of
the Treasury, (headed by Alexander Hamilton) the Secretary of War, (headed by Henry Knox) the
Postmaster General, (headed by Samuel Osgood) and the Attorney General (headed by Edmund
Randolph). These offices became the backbone for the Presidential Cabinet. On July 27, 1789,
Washington signed a bill into law reauthorizing an Executive Department of Foreign Affairs headed
by a Secretary of Foreign Affairs.
Washington was the major player to the creation of the United States Government under the
constitution. He did more in his first months in office than any other president so far. He was the
best man for the job and the only man. There is no way that anyone can do as much for the
government as Washington did so. He did a great job of setting up other courts around the
