The Hunger Games Research Essay
In The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins expresses two themes. The first one is that we can t let the
government use their power to treat, and use people like they want, they are oppressing them. At one o
clock, we head of the square. Attendance is mandatory unless you are on deaths door. This evening,
officials will come around and check to see if this is the case. If not you will be imprisoned. (Collins,
16) we can see that the Capitol forces the people to participate in the reaping by threatening them.
When I was younger, I scared my mother to death, the things I would blurt out about District 12, about
the people who rule our country, Panem, from the far off city called the Capitol. Eventually I
understood this would only lead us to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the game Katniss have to pretend that she loves Peeta, but inside she knows that her real love
was Gale and that he was waiting for her. It was hard for all of them because Gale was outside seeing
how Peeta kiss his girlfriend, and for Peeta because he knows that Katniss was in love with another
boy and not of him, and to Katniss because maybe she was with Gale, but passing time with Peeta and
look how he tries to saved her life make her get confused about her feelings so she focused in what is
good for her, and not of what she real want.
The author communicates the important message by using some literary devices, for example she used
verbal irony when Peeta say, Always worried about our safety. (Collins, 81) It was sarcastic because
he was talking with Katniss about what happens if they try to suicide from the top of the building, but
they can t because the Capitol want them to be alive for the game.
The Hunger Games deal with oppression by many ways. It s time for the drawing. Effie Trinket says
as she always does, Ladies first! and crosses to the glass ball with the girls names. She reaches in, digs
her hand deep into the ball, and pulls out a slip of paper. (Collins, 28) The government oppresses the
people of the Seam because they were condemned to play the Hunger Games every year to get some
food to live. People suffer because

Hip Hop Music And African American Oral Traditions
In order to understand hip hop dance, it is important to recognize hip hop music and where it came
from. Many scholars of rap music relate the founding of rap to African and African American oral and
musical traditions, specifically African griots and storytellers. They link the rhythm of rap to the use
of drums in Africa and to African American music in the United States, from slave songs and spirituals
to jazz and R B. Scholars have found very interesting connections between rap music and Black
nationalist traditions (traditions historically practiced by black people that serve as part of their racial
identity). Rap is similar to the call and response of the black church, the joy and pain of the blues, the
jive talk and slang of the hipsters and jazz musicians, the boasting of street talk, the sidesplitting
humor of comedians, and the articulateness of black activists. All of these African American oral
traditions, including rap, can be traced back to West African oral traditions. In traditional African
societies, the spoken word and oral culture included poetry, storytelling, and speaking to drumbeats.
The links between rap music and African American oral and musical traditions demonstrate that hip
hop music represents more than just sound. It represents history. This aspect of it, in my opinion,
makes this type of music very unique and makes it carry more value.
Rap music officially started in 1978 in the Bronx, New York. According to the author, most Americans

Structure and Functions of Different Classes of Neurons...
Structure and Function of Various Body Parts: Structure and Functions of Different Classes of
Neurons: Neurons are nerve cells within the nervous system that allow it to communicate with body
cells. Neurons are important part of the nervous system, which has the responsibility for transmitting
electrical and chemical signals in the entire body (Stufflebeam, 2008). Neurons are required to
demonstrate qualities of ability to respond to stimuli, being conductive, and ability of secreting
chemicals. Some of the most common classes of neurons include ¦ Motor Neurons: These neurons are
also known as multipolar or efferent neurons and are responsible for carrying signals from the central
nervous system to the glands and muscles ( Brain Cells , n.d.). While they account for 9 percent of all
neurons in the human body, they have numerous processes emanating from the cell body.
Consequently, these neurons are capable of stimulating muscle cells in the entire body such as bladder,
heart, diaphragm, glands, and intestines (Boeree, 2009). Motor neurons are made up of short and
divided dendrites and very long axons that don t branch freely ( Nervous Tissues , n.d.). Sensory
Neurons: They are also called afferent or unipolar neurons whose initial function is to obtain initial
stimuli from sense organs like ears, eyes, and nose and the impulses generated from the body in
reaction to changes that are necessary for maintenance of homeostasis. These neurons have a single

Free Radical Chain Reaction Lab
Free Radical Chain Reactions: Bromination of Arenes Post Lab Report Reference: Experimental
Organic Chemistry: A Miniscale and Microscale Approach 6th ed., by Gilbert and Martin, Chapter 9
Discussion: The purpose of the experiment as to explore how different hydrogen functional groups in
hydrocarbons react with bromine through free radical chain substitution. The product is dependent on
the type of hydrogen that is being subjected to the bromination, whether that be aliphatic, allylic,
benzylic, vinylic, acetylenic, or aromatic. By comparing the relative reactivity rates between the
different hydrogens to bromine, a hypothesized ranking of reactivity was made of the provided
hydrocarbons: toluene, ethyl benzene, tert butylbenzene, cyclohexane, and methylcyclohexane. This
hypothesis was then tested during the actual lab period by preparing two sets of reactions for each
hydrocarbon: one in light and one in dark. Observations were noted throughout a thirty minute period
in order to determine the experimental order of reactivity. Free radical chain reactions are one of the
few mechanisms that allow for functional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ethylbenzene was predicted to react first due to the secondary benzylic hydrogens present, the most
reactive hydrogen for the three main hydrogen functional group classifications. Toluene contains
primary benzylic hydrogens, the second most reactive hydrogen. Tert butylbenzene contains primary
aliphatic hydrogens but also an arene ring, allowing for aromatic hydrogens to also be present. This is
why it was ranked above methylcyclohexane in the original proposed ranking. Methylcyclohexane
contains tertiary, secondary and primary aliphatic hydrogens. Cyclohexane contains just secondary
aliphatic hydrogens, justifying its place as the slowest of the hypothesized ranking

The Sabbath Of The Jewish Holidays
When people think of holidays they would think Christmas or Thanksgiving. But with the Jewish
religion they celebrate the holidays a little bit different than most people. With the Jewish cultural they
celebrate Shabbat, Passover, You Kippur, Sukkot, and Hanukkah.
The Shabbat is considered the most important of all Jewish holidays. It is the day of rest and weekly
observance of God s completion of creation. Shabbat starts on a Friday night an hour before sunset, it
lasts for 25 hours until sunset on Saturday night. This holiday is one of the way the Jewish people
connect with Yahweh because these people will make some of the tuitional meal that comes with this
holiday. Also, they will make the setting special because they are celebrating their god and what to
make it wonderful. In the book God in search of man there was a quote that said Perhaps Sabbath is
the idea that expresses what is most characteristic of Judaism. What is the Sabbath? A reminder of
every man s royalty; and abolition of the distinction of master and slave, rich and poor, success and
failure. To celebrate the Sabbath is to experience one s ultimate independence of civilization and
society, of achievement and anxiety. The Sabbath is an embodiment of the belief that all men are equal
and that equality of men means the nobility of men. (pg.417) The author is showing that the men of
the household it leading their family and that is holiday can become a family tradition.
Next would be the Passover. This

Napoleon Bonaparte s Big Dictator In Small Packaging
Big Dictator in Small Packaging Tall, dark, and handsome are not the adjectives one might use to
describe Napoleon Bonaparte. Vulgar, ruthless, and conniving are the ones some would if they were so
inclined... Despite the controversy over the shockingly short man s rule, his road to success and his
untimely downfall undeniably played a large role in shaping modern France. However, what is more
interesting is what shaped this historic dictator. And, it all began with his birth. Napoleon Bonaparte s
early life turned from bitter sadness to unexpected accomplishment. Born August 15, 1769 into a
large, impoverished family during a war between his homeland Corsica and the mighty France, it
seemed that, even then, his livelihood and well being were being challenged. His parents, Letizia and
Carlo, wrestled to keep food on the table after the French war, and chose to move to France to pursue
a better life. To Napoleon s distaste, his father was quick to submit to French customs and began to
dress and behave just like a Frenchman ( To Destiny ). Furthermore, when Bonaparte turned nine, his
father gave him his first stepping stone by procuring him a scholarship to a French school. It was at
this school that Bonaparte began to truly feel set apart. With his yellow, Corsican skin, prideful
ambience, and the fact that he hardly spoke French, Napoleon did not even try to fit in. At the age of
fifteen, he attended the Royal Military Academy of France. One teacher described him as, quiet and
solitary. Frightfully egotistical. Proud, ambitious, aspiring to everything ( To Destiny ). He would go
far, his school report read, in favorable circumstances ( To Destiny ).
However, in 1785 at the age of 16, he finished school and secured the title of Second Lieutenant. It
was during this time that he became a genius at sighting a gun, deploying soldiers, and handling
rammer and shot. Yet, he felt useless. For a man who sensed he was destined for greatness, Second
Lieutenant was not a satisfactory vocation. He believed the regime would not grant him the high title
he yearned for because he was a no name. For that reason, he worked to be an author instead. He
wrote a quick history of Corsica and attempted writing a

Donald Trump s Debate Analysis
Sunday October 9th, the second Presidential debate aired generating approximately 66.5 million
viewers to watch the Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump debate the issues. Moderated by Martha
Raddatz and Anderson Cooper the debate was a town hall style with questions coming from undecided
voters, as well as facebook and the moderators. The television programs following the debate tend to
spin the debate in favor of their candiate. I tuned in to Hannity on Fox News on Monday following the
debate. I watched the Rachel Maddow show on MSNBC also on Monsay. Lastly, I watched the sunday
news program Meet the Press with Chuck Todd.
Hannity consisted of clips of Sean Hannity interviewing an array of people at the debate immediately
following the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It began with Mike Pence guest interview. This was the best interview I have seen, because it was the
least bias but not perfect. Chuck brought up trump statements and Michelle thougths. Not be swept
under rug . Pence begins and shows respect to Michelle, by saying trump feels bad. Pence says move
past. Focus of issues. But, chuck Todd follows up by saying trump not moving on and brings up clips
of Trump at rally, along with saying nine accusers came out and asks does mike really think it s all
talk. This difficult question Pence spins to Clinton corruption with the foundation amd says national
media is rigging election. Todd asks why pence hasn t called trump a good man this week? This a
bizzarw and specific claim, trying to start something. Pence says he has and talks about trump love
family. Trump aspiration to help US? Pence brings up France pres. criticizes obama and hill policy,
Todd continues to interrupt a sign of a bias not allowing Pemce to express opinions that he disagree.
At the end, Todd brings up Bill Kristol tweet about Pence resigning from Trump ticket. Next was a Joe
Biden interview, it was filmed before debate. They dscussed the tape of Trump in the RV with Bill
Bush. Joe begins with trumo statemnet txtbook sexual assault. Also, says Trump abuses power and he
is not the guy to represent the United States. Chuck asks if this leads bad message to men and women.

Nao Symbolism
Time being means temporary action, which will definitely change. For example, life is time being. We
never know what will happen to us in the next seconds, hours, days, months, or even years. Or, a super
huge tsunami which is much bigger and powerful than the tsunami that crashed Japan on March 11,
2011 could destroy New York City in the next second. Besides, we are able to change our life and
become a billionaire by winning the New York Lottery. Furthermore, In A Tale of the Time Being,
during the summer vacation, Nao and Jiko really have fun that they go to the seaside and have a picnic
at the beach (P.189 195). Nevertheless, a few months after the summer vacation is over, Jiko is dying
and lying on her futon like a pathetic ancient child ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Besides that, the fish symbolizes Nao s spirt and desire of freedom like a swimming fish in the ocean.
Also, the fish implies the water that the author uses to establish interesting plots like tsunami in order
to enrich the whole story. The crow is the symbolism of death, darkness, and mystery. When Ruth is
looking for Pesto in the forest, the crows warn (P.331) Ruth to stay away, which connote the death of
Pesto. Likewise, the author, Ozeki, uses the crows appearance to imply that Jiko s death day is near
future. The cat, Pesto, is a trouble maker. He is always doing bad things like leaving the squirrel
organs on the sidewalk of Ruth and Oliver s bed room (P.9). The author uses Pesto s behavior to imply
that Oliver is also a naughty person. Because Pesto and Oliver are a team, wherever Oliver dose or go,
Pesto follows (P.9).
The owner, Haruki #2, of these belongings, the diary, the letters, and the watch, died in suicidal action
that he chose to crash his plane into the ocean (P.386). Nao packs her diary and the diary, the letters,
the watch that belonged to her great uncle, Haruki # 2, for she wants to share this great honor with her
great uncle that she has just finished recording her first book which with the title of A la recherche

Native American Beliefs In Native America And Sir Walter...
Long before the first Europeans arrived Native Americans, had their own religions, lifestyles, and
customs. While these cultures were similar in some ways to the civilized nations, they were also very
different. Upon arrival in the New World some people, such as Thomas Hariot, set out to document
these new peoples, and their ways of life and, as was important in those days, their religion. By
informing people in England of the New World, more settlers would be likely to come. If possible
travelers are informed of their destination, there will be less apprehension about going. Thomas Hariot
was one such informer. An Englishman who accompanied Sir Walter Raleigh on his voyage to
establish a colony in the New World, he kept accounts of his explorations and later had them
published in his A Briefe and True Report of the New Found Land of Virginia. His book described the
land and people of Virginia as he traveled the country. One of the tribes he wrote about and described
was known as the Algonquin. Hariot described the people of the tribe as being [C]lothed in loose
mantles made of Deere skins and aprons of the same rounde about their middle; all els[e] naked...
allowing his English readers to realize the Algonquin were slightly unprogressive compared to
themselves in terms of clothing. Yet the author does not seem to look down upon the natives for their
rather primitive way of dressing. Mr. Hariot went on to describe their lack of advanced tools and
weapons: those

Injustice League In King Lear
Injustice League Many people believe in a balance between good and evil, the good being rewarded
and the horrible getting punished. But this is sadly not always the case. In the play King Lear, by
William Shakespeare, the titular character King Lear is betrayed by his daughters and begins to
embark on somewhat of a mental reform. He begins to see things and people for who they really are.
Not only that, but he also takes on the philosophical view that the more powerful you are, the less
consequences you will face for your actions. Even during the late 1500s, Shakespeare was able to see
and write about a social injustice system that is still very real today. In the modern day, many
celebrities and people in power, whether it be socially or economically, are not held to the same
accountability as regular people. Their wealth and famousness act as a kind of shield that protects
them from the consequences that their actions would normally entail. One man who has escaped any
conviction for numerous accusations and proven crimes is the musician R. Kelly. He has been tried
with an abundance of pedophilia, rape, sexual misconduct, and abuse charges. His most recognized
trial being about an alleged sex tape with a 14 year old girl. According to an article by Variety, Over
the years Kelly has had multiple accusations of sexual misconduct leveled against him, including a
2008 case where he was acquitted on 14 charges of making child pornography; that

Sub Saharan African Countries Have Experienced Macro...
In recent years, sub Saharan African countries have experienced macro economic growth. The growth
rate per annum averaged 5.2% over the past decade between 2000 and 2011 (Kulundu, 2013). The
growth rate has outpaced Middle East, Latin America and Eastern Europe after being the slowest
growing region for many years. In Tanzania, the growth rate averaged 6.8% from 2005 to 2011. It was
ranked 1st in East Africa and 8th in sub Saharan Africa. In 2014 the GDP was expected to grow by
7.2% and continue growing at annual averaged rate of 7.7% in medium term (MOF, 2014). Ifzal et al
(2007) observed that, economic growth does not guarantee all people to benefit equally, because
growth itself is not sufficient for poverty reduction. If poor or marginalized people are left behind, it
will result in increase of income inequality (Ifzal et al 2007). Vijayakumar et al (2012) showed the
importance of economic growth by identifying its effect in the economy. It s observed that, if GDP
growth decreases by 1%, it might trap 20 million more people into poverty. Therefore, it is evident
that unstable growth will definitely have severe adverse impact on vulnerable groups of people in the
society. Furthermore high and increasing levels of inequality may reduce the effect on poverty
reduction resulting from a given rate of growth. Thus inequality has implications for social cohesion
and political stability required for growth sustainability. This has been studied in several research
works that have

America s Nutritional Standards
As early as the 19th century, there has been increased efforts to rebuild America s nutritional
standards. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) was organized to provide insights on
issues related to public policies such as agriculture, nutrition and food safety. In efforts to help guide
Americans in establishing healthier nutrition plans, the USDA has implicated various visual aids. As a
result of globalization, there has been various revisions done on nutrition visual aids, which was
fraught with different interpretations. These visual aids plays a significant role in the health education
of the general public in which it educates people how to eat and stay healthy. As a result of
globalization, there has been a gradual change ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
USDA s main concern during this time period, as it continuously is today, was to educate Americans
on food groups, serving sizes, and the balance between food intake and energy (Mudry 346).
Specifically in a memorable method on informing citizens on the importance of variety and
proportionality, the USDA published an illustration of a food pyramid that could communicate
quantitative information and concepts (Mudry 346). In 1991, the USDA announced the release of the
Eating Right Pyramid, an icon designed to illustrate the federal government s recommendation s for
eating healthy. It is emphasized that twentieth century development of the science of nutrition
contributes to the refiguring of public conceptions of good food and a proper diet. (Mudry 339).
Judgements are simplified as a result of the Eating Right Pyramid. Farther implicating the principle of
science of nutrition, the USDA s Eating Right Pyramid accentuates the principles of nutritionism. The
bases of nutrition include the assumptions that the hidden chemical elements, and the quantities of
those elements of a food are its most important feature and that understanding these hidden chemical
constituents will inevitably improve our health (Mudry

Urban agriculture
An urban farm in Chicago
Urban agriculture, urban farming or urban gardening is the practice of cultivating, processing, and
distributing food in or around a village, town, or city.[1] Urban agriculture can also involve animal
husbandry, aquaculture, agroforestry, urban beekeeping, and horticulture. These activities occur in peri
urban areas as well, and peri urban agriculture may have different characteristics.[2]
Urban agriculture can reflect varying levels of economic and social development. In the global north,
it often takes the form of a social movement for sustainable communities, where organic growers,

A very similar practice came into use during the Great Depression that provided a purpose, a job, and
food to those who would otherwise be without anything during such harsh times. In this case, these
efforts helped to raise spirits socially as well as to boost economic growth. Over 2.8 million dollars
worth of food was produced from the subsistence gardens during the Depression. By the time of the
Second World War, the War/Food Administration set up a National Victory Garden Program that set
out to systematically establish functioning agriculture within cities. With this new plan in action, as
many as 5.5 million Americans took part in the victory garden movement and over 9 million pounds
of fruit and vegetables were grown a year, accounting for 44% of U.S. grown produce throughout that
time.[citation needed]
In 2010, New York City saw the building and opening of the world s largest privately owned and
operated rooftop farm, followed by an even larger location in 2012.[6] Both were a result of municipal
programs such as The Green Roof Tax Abatement Program.[7] and Green Infrastructure Grant
Program[8]
With its past success in mind and with modern technology, urban agriculture today can be something
to help both developed and developing nations.

Informative Speech On Thyroid Gland
Did you know that every cell of the human body has thyroid hormone receptors? They re intricately
woven into the DNA. So, if you think about it, the thyroid gland basically has control of the entire
body. As part of the endocrine system, the thyroid secretes hormones directly into the bloodstream,
and these hormones are responsible for regulating many bodily functions. It controls the body s
metabolism, protein synthesizing, energy consumption, and the functions of other vital organs.

It uses iodine to produce T4 and T3, the thyroid hormones. Iodine is found in seafood, plants grown
on iodine rich soil, and iodized salt. The gland also gets its cue from the brain. The pituitary gland
secretes Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) and the thyroid responds to it.
The thyroid is sensitive to environmental toxins. Frequent exposure to toxins like plastic compounds,
pesticides, and heavy metal can cause goiter, a condition where the neck or larynx swells due to the
enlargement of the thyroid gland.
The thyroid also plays a hand in controlling the calcium level in your blood. The C cells, a small
group of cells located in the thyroid gland, secrete the hormone called calcitonin, which controls
calcium level.
The thyroid s health is dependent on a number of vitamins and minerals. Including iodine, the thyroid
needs Vitamin A, Vitamin D, B Vitamins, selenium, and zinc. A well balanced diet is necessary to
supply the thyroid with these vitamins and minerals.
Hyperthyroidism is a condition where the thyroid gland is overactive. It s often caused by Graves
Disease, an autoimmune disorder that stimulates the thyroid to overproduce hormones.

The Issue Of Illegal Immigration
Illegal immigration has become an explosive issue in the U.S. Many people have debated fervently in
their disapproval of illegal immigration, whereas others defend it just as ardently. The church and
Christian religion/theology has been drawn into the fray over illegal aliens as well, with Christians on
both sides seeking to validate their positions based on their own individual beliefs. I interviewed many
different people with equally varying opinions on the matter. Over the past few months, many people,
old and young, have been educated on the ethical dilemma that immigration has caused; especially
due to the Syrian refugee crisis. Every person I interviewed had valid statements about the issue that is
affecting the United States and the World. The majority of people I interviewed were Christian;
however, one person was an Atheist and another was Agnostic. I found their opinions extremely
interesting for the fact that their opinions were morally based and not spiritually. I did ask in depth of
the Christian interviewees about how their religious and spiritual view affects the view of this
controversial issue. Some used the law of the land as an important aspect. They believe that those who
illegally enter any country violate that nation s laws as well as the laws of God. Believers are torn
between showing compassion and mercy to the illegal immigrants who seek help and not wanting to
disrupt God s word. The government expects private citizens to act as law enforcement.

Why should schools summer vacation stay the same? Some educators believe that summer break is

With all these hot summer days, it lets us have time to sit down and watch a movie. Relaxation is one

Cheesecake Factory Structure
Intro
The organizational structures within a company can be the determining factor if a business can run
efficiently or run chaotically into ruin. The organizational structure is the different hierarchy s and
arrangement of authority, roles and duties in an organization. The Cheesecake factory has a very
effective organizational structure which allows for its operations to run smoothly and enables the
Cheesecake factory to be one of the highest earning restaurant chains. The structure contains three
main levels. The first and highest level is the board of directors which contains 7 members, including
the CEO David Overton and 6 directors. The next level of hierarchy called N 1 contains 7 levels
including the CFO, President, Area Operations, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is a centralized system, where decisions and recommendations come from the top down. However it
is also flexible giving any employee the freedom to reach out to an upper level director. This
succession of power lets Cheesecake Factory operate smoothly and competently. Each location
manager has to go through extensive training to be able to be in that position and is well qualified to
look over the whole restaurant. Given the success of Cheesecake factory, I would say they should keep
their hierarchal structure the same and if anything they should add higher monitoring of lower levels.
The upper levels seem to operate efficiently, but upon reading employee reviews of working at
Cheesecake factory, there were several that were unhappy with their general managers. Many of them
claimed that the management was unapproachable, and did not pay attention to the hard work of the
employees. It was also said that the managers tend to be overbearing and lack communication skills
with employees. Another overarching theme was the inconsistent breaks because they are up to the
discretion of the manager. My recommendation would be to invest more in the employees and the
directors that are above the general managers to make sure that the employees are satisfied. Promote
company values more and participative leadership and more incentive for employees to go above and
beyond and focus on team building as opposed to individual competition. In one of the reports they
even said themselves that the success of the business is due to happy employees. Our future growth
and financial success will be highly dependent on our ability to attract, develop and retain qualified
staff members who are capable of successfully managing upscale, high volume casual dining
restaurants, and consistently executing our extensive and complex

Essay On Teach For America
I seek to join Teach for America to give back to low income communities I have always had a passion
to serve my community, rather if it was by volunteering at the local Boys and Girls Club, visiting the

America I would be able to not only serve a local community but also teach the future leaders of
America. I believe that a quality education should not be upon the basis of race or family income, but
from the quality of the educator that comes in contact with each child. It is as if the quality of the

The Organizational Management Report ( Omr ) Or Omr...
Introduction
The purpose of this assignment is to help me make a decision in my workplace on whether we should
provide the Organizational Management Report (OMR) or OMR summary or both version reports to
each organization who eligible to receive a report. There are two factors that we need to consider
before we make the decision. The first factor is time. How long will it take us to populate five hundred
and twenty full versions OMR and OMR summary? Our office has promised to provide the report by
the second week of October. The second factor is the ability to understand the report. The majority of
the managers and leaders find an OMR is a little overwhelming since the OMR has a total of forty
pages. The majority of the manager and leaders do not have much time to spend on the report. On the
other hand, there are organizations that want to have an OMR which allow them to manipulate the
data and create their own survey report.

Economic Systems Essay
Introduction
Economic systems are organized way in which a state or nation allocates its resources and apportions
goods and services in the national community. An economic system is slackly defined as country s
plan for its services, goods produced, and the exact way in which its economic plan is carried out.
There are three types of economic systems exist, they are command economy, market economy, and
mixed economy. Command economy is also sometimes called planned economy. The expectations of
this type of economy is that all major decisions that related to the construction or production,
distribution, commodity and service prices are all made by the government. However, in market

Businesses can decide which goods to produce and in what quantity and consumers can decide what
they want to purchase and at what price. The role of the state is limited to ensure right precision in the
prices charged by the sellers. Prices also have the function to allocate and distribute a country s
resources. Market leads to complete effectiveness bringing about the best possible distribution of a
country s resources in a perfect world. This would only happen in a state of equilibrium and there is a
unique price for every commodity. But in a realistic world which is imperfect by nature, prices are
never at equilibrium and very unstable depending upon the vagaries of the market forces. This
generally harms people living below the poverty line. It is impossible for them to pay high prices in
cases of demand shortage. Thus, the free market model is not a viable option in developing countries
which has a large number of poor. Besides, producers are aim to minimize profit and maximize rent of
production. Examples of countries that are using this economy system are Hong Kong, USA, and UK.
Many developing countries like India and China are moving towards totally free market economy. The
command economy is government directed. The market forces have very little say in such an
economy. There is no private property. On the other hand, a command economy aims at using all
available resources for developing either

The retail company which has been selected is Next, due to the long successful leadership skills from
CEO Simon Wolfson. This essay is going to look at how Simon has managed to keep Next running
and how he successfully leads his management team.
Looking at the history of Next it is seen that the previous CEO David Jones saw potential in Simon,
from when he was working for them as a buyer back in the early nineties, helping them to rebuild their
shares as they had fallen to around ten pence. Simon has also been on the board since 1997 helping to

How Simon has managed to take over from David Jones and how has he kept the business running
successfully.
Simon Wolfson was appointed the role Chief Executive Officer in 2001, the role was passed down
from David Jones who was the previous Chief Executive Officer from 1988. It mentions in a report
from the Telegraph (20th May 2001) it helped even more that Jones spotted his talents early on and
promoted him into ever more senior, precarious positions. If Wolfson s promotion had been blind
nepotism, the whole company would have suffered the consequences by now. Instead it has flourished.

Persuasive Essay On Birth Tourism
1 Layth Rawan Layth Sherry Sharifian Federal Government 2305 30 June 2017 Birth Tourism Birth
tourism is when a foreigner travels to a country for the sole purpose of giving birth to gain citizenship.
This is becoming an increasing problem in the United States. The 14th amendment allows for
American born babies to gain citizenship in the country. Many immigrants are taking advantage of this
amendment to gain citizenship for their child and then flee. Despite the benefits that the 14th
amendment presents, I believe that it should be altered to reflect its true meaning and awarding
citizenship to people who greatly deserve it The 14th amendment guarantees citizenship to every child

It brings different minds together that can create something big. It would improve social services and
help free up funds since countries would no longer have to provide benefits for their children (Pros
and Cons of Birthright Citizenship). This would allow the funds to be freed up and help other people.
Birth tourism also limits the rights that children with citizenship have as well as the costs, which
allows them to be used elsewhere (Pros and Cons of Birthright Citizenship). 4 Another benefit would
be that it would allow local dollars to be spent locally. Rather than sending money overseas, it keeps
the money in the country for children born through illegal practices. 4 By keeping the money local, the
value of one dollar can be doubled if it is spent within the same community (Lombardo). However,
some cons include illegal immigration. Since the 14th amendment allows for foreigners to gain
citizenship for their children, it increases the incentive for families outside of the U.S. to enter and
give birth. Since many of the government funds go to illegal mothers giving birth, the U.S. would save
more money as fewer immigrants wanted to come to the country for citizenship (Apecsecadmin). The
14th amendment is very controversial with its true meaning. Many argue that it does not cover illegal
immigrants and only people here with proper documentation. By allowing foreigners to enter and gain
rights for their children, it is taking away from the country s

Historically, workers migrate to cities in search of employment and upward mobility, as demonstrated

Srebrenca Genocide Essay
In 1997, the world witnessed the second most horrific crime in eastern Europe since the Holocaust:
The Srebrenica massacre. Throughout the course of 11 days, over 8,000 Bosniak Bosnian Muslim
males, specifically those who were of age to join the military, were rounded up, and killed by the
Bosnian Serb army. The army s defense for their actions was that they were trying to reunite Serb
territory after the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina became its own state. Despite this claim, the
ICTY still charged Radovan Karadzic and Ratko Mladic, two of the men who spearheaded the ethnic
cleansing campaign in Bosnia, with war crimes including genocide. However, scholars debate whether

As defined by the UN, a genocide is the intentional destruction of a whole or part of a racial, ethnical,

the crime. According to William Schabas, author of Genocide in International Law: The Crime of
Crimes, prosecutors had to stretch the definition of genocide in order to prove that Bosnia Serb leaders
had intentions to eliminate Bosniaks. (M.S, Genocide) Although this may be true, since their reason
was to unify Serb land, we cannot disregard the fact that they used ethnic cleansing to make this
happen, which in turn eliminated Bosniaks from Srebrenica. Is it then morally, and legally right to say
that the ends justify the means in this case, in the sense that it would not be considered a genocide? I
would like to think not, especially with a crime that took the lives of more than 8,000 people and

he just thought that it would be what is best for that community. As Bellis said in the interview, I am

several distinguished points about potential issues in the standards of the military for transgenders. As
most people know, the military has a strict discipline policy for every soldier, regardless of race,

This means that every soldier must be able to pass a physical fitness test, and must follow ordinance
with the uniform policy. This becomes problematic with transgenders when trying to decide which

Bellis said in the interview:

Supporting Interactive System Testing with
Interaction Sequences
Jessica Turner
Faculty of Computing and Mathematical Sciences, University of Waikato
August 13, 2015
1 Research Topic
An interactive system is a piece of software or a device which requires human input. It consists of a
user interface which the user interacts with to access the underlying functions, described formally in
code. This allows the user to easily manipulate the system in order to complete some task. An
important subset of interactive systems is safety critical interactive systems (a system in which errors
can lead to injury or even death to the user). Unfortunately, the testing of these systems is currently
inadequate, resulting in serious harm or even fatalities (see [1] [2]).
A test is de ned in the Oxford Dictionary as: A procedure intended to establish the quality,
performance, or reliability of something, especially before it is taken into widespread use ; [3]. The
purpose of interactive system testing is not only to ensure that the system does what it is expected to,
but also to identify problems within the current version of the system. The resolution of these
problems will help to establish the quality, performance and/or reliability [3] of the system and help to
avoid future incidents.
In this research we propose using interaction sequences as an abstraction of the system under test to
support the testing process. An interaction sequence is the series of steps a user can take to perform a

Mold And Grout Argument Essay
If you have ever stepped into your bath or shower only to realize that you have build up on your tiles
and grout, you may have wondered what is the best way to clean your tiles and grout. Cleaning your
tile and grout can be a long process, trying to scrub everything clean can take time and it can be costly
as you buy cleaning product after cleaning product, just trying to find the one that works the best. It is
important to regularly clean the tile and grout in your bathrooms and kitchens. Soap scum, dirt, and
even mold and mildew can build up in these areas. When mold and mildew do start to build up in your
tiles and grout it can spread quickly and become a big problem. A build up of mold and mildew can

Their Eyes Were Watching God Coming Of Age Examples
Various novels can be classified as coming of age texts, this means that these are stories about a
protagonist s transition from childhood to adulthood or just growing up even as an adult. These novels
show their growth and change in character over the length of the text. Novels such as The Catcher in
the Rye by J.D Salinger, The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky, and Their Eyes Were
Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston are all examples of coming of age novels. In Zora Neale
Hurston s Their Eyes Were Watching God the story is focused on Janie Crawford and her growth over
the course of the book. Their Eyes Were Watching God is a story that follows protagonist Janie
Crawford, through many hardships, relationships, and adventures. As Janie Returns to her hometown
in Florida after a long absence the novel is a recollection of her experiences and adventures to her
friend Pheoby Watson. Janie struggles throughout the entirety of the novel to find freedom and peace
with herself. She experiences relationships with a few different kinds of people all of which help her
to eventually find that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Praise Song for the Day
Praise Song For The Day
November 26, 2012
This poem, Praise Song for the Day by Elizabeth Alexander, is one of the most memorable poems that
have been recited within the last 20 years. Immediately after President Obama was sworn into office,
Elizabeth Alexander recited her poem to the masses that had gathered on that cold winter day in
January. The piece is full of symbolism, with the tone being hopeful, inspiring and thankful. The poem
begins with a description of daily life which is filled with the daily grind of hard working individuals,
often doing the work that drives this great nation of ours...small businesses, blue collar laborers,
honorable professions such as teaching.
The possibility of coming together as a people in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The religious belief systems of different peoples that allow us to get along with other peoples differ in
degree. The poem presents an even stronger concept of love that goes beyond Love thy neighbor as
thy self , and even beyond marital, filial, national. Some believe the way to unity is to avoid being
selfish, not hurting others, and treating others as you would your compatriots, your kin, or yourself.
This poem suggests there is a love that extends beyond those whom we are familiar with to include a
widening pool of light.
Finally, in relation to the present day, there is a sense of the immense possibilities ( anything can be
made, any sentence begun ). This is contained in the words that may inspire others to action that may
bring such a love closer toward reality. From disunity ( walking past each other ) to blindly walk[ing]
into that which we cannot yet see, this poem now suggests the alternative of walking forward in that
light guided by a new vision of a love that may unite us.
I focused on the symbolic element of the poem, because I liked the presentation and how it flowed. It
made me think about how far we ve come in this country. I believe that Elizabeth draws the reader
into the poem just I was drawn, by suggesting that we as a nation that was literally built off the labor

Movie Co Written And Directed By South Korean Director,...
Snowpiercer is a 2013 science fiction thriller movie co written and directed by South Korean director,
Bong Joon ho. With all the battles and intense scenes, the movie is a thriller marvel in itself. However,
the movie also has a lot of hidden political messages which are surreptitiously inscribed in the movie.
The movie is about class conflict and economic inequality, using the train as an analogy. It has
different cabins and each one represents a social class in the real world. The people at the very back
are the poorest and live in inhumane conditions. As you move up the train, the quality of life gets
better and better; until you reach the very front of the train, the engine, where the leader resides. The

However, this is not reflected in the prices of their products, which are very expensive.
Between the front and the back cabins exist different classes. As we move through different carts, we
see the working class, for example, there is a school with students and a teacher, a chef who makes
food for the upper class people. Then, there is a violinist who serves as an entertainer to different
sections of the train. Another section grows plants and vegetation. Everyone has a function and a job
on the train and the society. This is a representation of the working class in the real world. They live
better lives than the poorest people but they still work for the capitalists. The working class is as
essential to the capitalist class as any other class.
Then there is the wealthy class which only parties and does not add to anything in the society. They
just happen to waste the resources of the train. This wealthy class live lavish lives and don t have to
worry about the basic necessities live food, clothes or shelter. Then at the absolute front is the leader
who lives lavishly and controls all other people in the train. He is a capitalist and has invested on this
train and in return, gets to rule the train. In the real world, Wilford represents the top 1% of the
population that we hear about. Those are the people who control half of the world s wealth and are the
ones who basically decide how

The Goal Is Clear And The Stakes Are High
THE REVERSE presents with an interesting idea. The goal is clear and the stakes are high. The script
is driven by solid themes about freedom, justice, and destiny. The tone is mainly dark and it presents
with as a very disturbing and violent story. While the concept feels thought provoking, the overall
script would benefit from more development. First, there s a solid inciting event when Justin is fired
and called a derogatory name. His decision to buy the plantation is the catalyst that moves the story
forward. His goal to reverse the power system, which he believes is controlled and run by the White
Man drives act two. However, there s a very awkward transition in the structure. Justin buys the
plantation and then suddenly he seems to go Rambo and gets violent looking for Cash and Cocaine.
This change in his behavior from a rather passive man to a very violent man feels very jarring and
inconsistent with the setup previously. In act two, Justin enacts his plan to abduct certain people.
However, the plan goes too well. There s no conflict in his plan. Every person they decide to kidnap is
easily abducted. Justin and his men are never almost caught. The idea of Rachel, Justin s former
girlfriend, being in charge of the investigation is too much of a coincidence. It feels too contrived and
this questions the credibility of the plot. The third act feels too passive with the idea of the courtroom
trial. The third act should actually contain the strongest tension

Hamlet s Frailty, Thy Name Is Woman
From the beginning of the play, Hamlet views woman in a very negative way. It began when his
mother remarried to Claudius, his uncle, only a month after his father had passed. He completely
disagreed with the decision, he believed that what his mother did was a sin. He knew that his father
deserved more than a month of mourning by his mom remarrying so soon, with his uncle! After his
father s ghost appears, he tells him not to worry about his mom but to get revenge for his death.
Hamlet s inability to forget about his mom s sins, like his father asked of him, eventually affect how
he treats other woman involved in his life. Whenever Hamlet says Frailty, thy name is woman!

  • 3. Hip Hop Music And African American Oral Traditions In order to understand hip hop dance, it is important to recognize hip hop music and where it came from. Many scholars of rap music relate the founding of rap to African and African American oral and musical traditions, specifically African griots and storytellers. They link the rhythm of rap to the use of drums in Africa and to African American music in the United States, from slave songs and spirituals to jazz and R B. Scholars have found very interesting connections between rap music and Black nationalist traditions (traditions historically practiced by black people that serve as part of their racial identity). Rap is similar to the call and response of the black church, the joy and pain of the blues, the jive talk and slang of the hipsters and jazz musicians, the boasting of street talk, the sidesplitting humor of comedians, and the articulateness of black activists. All of these African American oral traditions, including rap, can be traced back to West African oral traditions. In traditional African societies, the spoken word and oral culture included poetry, storytelling, and speaking to drumbeats. The links between rap music and African American oral and musical traditions demonstrate that hip hop music represents more than just sound. It represents history. This aspect of it, in my opinion, makes this type of music very unique and makes it carry more value. Rap music officially started in 1978 in the Bronx, New York. Structure and Function of Various Body Parts: Structure and Functions of Different Classes of Neurons: Neurons are nerve cells within the nervous system that allow it to communicate with body cells. Neurons are important part of the nervous system, which has the responsibility for transmitting electrical and chemical signals in the entire body (Stufflebeam, 2008). Neurons are required to demonstrate qualities of ability to respond to stimuli, being conductive, and ability of secreting chemicals. Some of the most common classes of neurons include ¦ Motor Neurons: These neurons are also known as multipolar or efferent neurons and are responsible for carrying signals from the central nervous system to the glands and muscles ( Brain Cells , n.d.). While they account for 9 percent of all neurons in the human body, they have numerous processes emanating from the cell body. Consequently, these neurons are capable of stimulating muscle cells in the entire body such as bladder, heart, diaphragm, glands, and intestines (Boeree, 2009). Motor neurons are made up of short and divided dendrites and very long axons that don t branch freely ( Nervous Tissues , n.d.). Sensory Neurons: They are also called afferent or unipolar neurons whose initial function is to obtain initial stimuli from sense organs like ears, eyes, and nose and the impulses generated from the body in reaction to changes that are necessary for maintenance of homeostasis. Free Radical Chain Reaction Lab Free Radical Chain Reactions: Bromination of Arenes Post Lab Report Reference: Experimental Organic Chemistry: A Miniscale and Microscale Approach 6th ed., by Gilbert and Martin, Chapter 9 Discussion: The purpose of the experiment as to explore how different hydrogen functional groups in hydrocarbons react with bromine through free radical chain substitution. The product is dependent on the type of hydrogen that is being subjected to the bromination, whether that be aliphatic, allylic, benzylic, vinylic, acetylenic, or aromatic. By comparing the relative reactivity rates between the different hydrogens to bromine, a hypothesized ranking of reactivity was made of the provided hydrocarbons: toluene, ethyl benzene, tert butylbenzene, cyclohexane, and methylcyclohexane. This hypothesis was then tested during the actual lab period by preparing two sets of reactions for each hydrocarbon: one in light and one in dark. Observations were noted throughout a thirty minute period in order to determine the experimental order of reactivity. • 7. Napoleon Bonaparte s Big Dictator In Small Packaging Big Dictator in Small Packaging Tall, dark, and handsome are not the adjectives one might use to describe Napoleon Bonaparte. Vulgar, ruthless, and conniving are the ones some would if they were so inclined... Despite the controversy over the shockingly short man s rule, his road to success and his untimely downfall undeniably played a large role in shaping modern France. However, what is more interesting is what shaped this historic dictator. And, it all began with his birth. Napoleon Bonaparte s early life turned from bitter sadness to unexpected accomplishment. Born August 15, 1769 into a large, impoverished family during a war between his homeland Corsica and the mighty France, it seemed that, even then, his livelihood and well being were being challenged. His parents, Letizia and Carlo, wrestled to keep food on the table after the French war, and chose to move to France to pursue a better life. To Napoleon s distaste, his father was quick to submit to French customs and began to dress and behave just like a Frenchman ( To Destiny ). Furthermore, when Bonaparte turned nine, his father gave him his first stepping stone by procuring him a scholarship to a French school. It was at this school that Bonaparte began to truly feel set apart. With his yellow, Corsican skin, prideful ambience, and the fact that he hardly spoke French, Napoleon did not even try to fit in. At the age of fifteen, he attended the Royal Military Academy of France. One teacher described him as, quiet and solitary. Frightfully egotistical. Proud, ambitious, aspiring to everything ( To Destiny ). He would go far, his school report read, in favorable circumstances ( To Destiny ). However, in 1785 at the age of 16, he finished school and secured the title of Second Lieutenant. It was during this time that he became a genius at sighting a gun, deploying soldiers, and handling rammer and shot. Yet, he felt useless. For a man who sensed he was destined for greatness, Second Lieutenant was not a satisfactory vocation. He believed the regime would not grant him the high title he yearned for because he was a no name. For that reason, he worked to be an author instead. He wrote a quick history of Corsica and attempted writing a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Native American Beliefs In Native America And Sir Walter... Long before the first Europeans arrived Native Americans, had their own religions, lifestyles, and customs. While these cultures were similar in some ways to the civilized nations, they were also very different. Upon arrival in the New World some people, such as Thomas Hariot, set out to document these new peoples, and their ways of life and, as was important in those days, their religion. By informing people in England of the New World, more settlers would be likely to come. If possible travelers are informed of their destination, there will be less apprehension about going. Thomas Hariot was one such informer. An Englishman who accompanied Sir Walter Raleigh on his voyage to establish a colony in the New World, he kept accounts of his explorations and later had them published in his A Briefe and True Report of the New Found Land of Virginia. His book described the land and people of Virginia as he traveled the country. One of the tribes he wrote about and described was known as the Algonquin. Hariot described the people of the tribe as being [C]lothed in loose mantles made of Deere skins and aprons of the same rounde about their middle; all els[e] naked... allowing his English readers to realize the Algonquin were slightly unprogressive compared to themselves in terms of clothing. But this is sadly not always the case. In the play King Lear, by William Shakespeare, the titular character King Lear is betrayed by his daughters and begins to embark on somewhat of a mental reform. He begins to see things and people for who they really are. Not only that, but he also takes on the philosophical view that the more powerful you are, the less consequences you will face for your actions. Even during the late 1500s, Shakespeare was able to see and write about a social injustice system that is still very real today. In the modern day, many celebrities and people in power, whether it be socially or economically, are not held to the same accountability as regular people. The growth rate per annum averaged 5.2% over the past decade between 2000 and 2011 (Kulundu, 2013). The growth rate has outpaced Middle East, Latin America and Eastern Europe after being the slowest growing region for many years. In Tanzania, the growth rate averaged 6.8% from 2005 to 2011. It was ranked 1st in East Africa and 8th in sub Saharan Africa. In 2014 the GDP was expected to grow by 7.2% and continue growing at annual averaged rate of 7.7% in medium term (MOF, 2014). Ifzal et al (2007) observed that, economic growth does not guarantee all people to benefit equally, because growth itself is not sufficient for poverty reduction. If poor or marginalized people are left behind, it will result in increase of income inequality (Ifzal et al 2007). Vijayakumar et al (2012) showed the importance of economic growth by identifying its effect in the economy. It s observed that, if GDP growth decreases by 1%, it might trap 20 million more people into poverty. Therefore, it is evident that unstable growth will definitely have severe adverse impact on vulnerable groups of people in the society. Furthermore high and increasing levels of inequality may reduce the effect on poverty reduction resulting from a given rate of growth. Thus inequality has implications for social cohesion and political stability required for growth sustainability. This has been studied in several research works that have ... Over 2.8 million dollars worth of food was produced from the subsistence gardens during the Depression. By the time of the Second World War, the War/Food Administration set up a National Victory Garden Program that set out to systematically establish functioning agriculture within cities. With this new plan in action, as many as 5.5 million Americans took part in the victory garden movement and over 9 million pounds of fruit and vegetables were grown a year, accounting for 44% of U.S. grown produce throughout that time.[citation needed] In 2010, New York City saw the building and opening of the world s largest privately owned and operated rooftop farm, followed by an even larger location in 2012.[6] Both were a result of municipal programs such as The Green Roof Tax Abatement Program.[7] and Green Infrastructure Grant Program[8] With its past success in mind and with modern technology, urban agriculture today can be something to help both developed and developing nations. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During the interview, he made several substantial, and exceptional, points. He, like everyone else who has experience in and understands the military, agreed with Trump s ban on transgenders. I think Trump did what others were afraid to do... I believe it is a utopian view to say let them serve. It is not that simplistic (Bellis). It is important to note that he does not hate or despise transgenders, however he just thought that it would be what is best for that community. As Bellis said in the interview, I am not against homosexuals [or anyone in the LGBT community] in the military. They have served for years honorably, and will continue to serve honorably regardless of politics. Yet, he brings about several distinguished points about potential issues in the standards of the military for transgenders. As most people know, the military has a strict discipline policy for every soldier, regardless of race, gender, or orientation. Part of this discipline policy are both dress code and physical fitness standards. This means that every soldier must be able to pass a physical fitness test, and must follow ordinance with the uniform policy. This becomes problematic with transgenders when trying to decide which physical fitness standards they should be judged on, or which dress code they can follow. Like what Bellis said in the interview: While a male is transitioning to a female, will they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 42. Supporting Interactive System Testing With Interaction... Supporting Interactive System Testing with Interaction Sequences Jessica Turner Faculty of Computing and Mathematical Sciences, University of Waikato August 13, 2015 1 Research Topic An interactive system is a piece of software or a device which requires human input. It consists of a user interface which the user interacts with to access the underlying functions, described formally in code. This allows the user to easily manipulate the system in order to complete some task. An important subset of interactive systems is safety critical interactive systems (a system in which errors can lead to injury or even death to the user). Unfortunately, the testing of these systems is currently inadequate, resulting in serious harm or even fatalities (see [1] [2]). A test is de ned in the Oxford Dictionary as: A procedure intended to establish the quality, performance, or reliability of something, especially before it is taken into widespread use ; [3]. The purpose of interactive system testing is not only to ensure that the system does what it is expected to, but also to identify problems within the current version of the system. The resolution of these problems will help to establish the quality, performance and/or reliability [3] of the system and help to avoid future incidents. In this research we propose using interaction sequences as an abstraction of the system under test to support the testing process. An interaction sequence is the series of steps a user can take to perform a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Their Eyes Were Watching God Coming Of Age Examples Various novels can be classified as coming of age texts, this means that these are stories about a protagonist s transition from childhood to adulthood or just growing up even as an adult. These novels show their growth and change in character over the length of the text. Novels such as The Catcher in the Rye by J.D Salinger, The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky, and Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston are all examples of coming of age novels. In Zora Neale Hurston s Their Eyes Were Watching God the story is focused on Janie Crawford and her growth over the course of the book. Praise Song for the Day Praise Song For The Day November 26, 2012 This poem, Praise Song for the Day by Elizabeth Alexander, is one of the most memorable poems that have been recited within the last 20 years. Immediately after President Obama was sworn into office, Elizabeth Alexander recited her poem to the masses that had gathered on that cold winter day in January. The piece is full of symbolism, with the tone being hopeful, inspiring and thankful. The poem begins with a description of daily life which is filled with the daily grind of hard working individuals, often doing the work that drives this great nation of ours...small businesses, blue collar laborers, honorable professions such as teaching. The religious belief systems of different peoples that allow us to get along with other peoples differ in degree. The poem presents an even stronger concept of love that goes beyond Love thy neighbor as thy self , and even beyond marital, filial, national. Some believe the way to unity is to avoid being selfish, not hurting others, and treating others as you would your compatriots, your kin, or yourself. This poem suggests there is a love that extends beyond those whom we are familiar with to include a widening pool of light. Finally, in relation to the present day, there is a sense of the immense possibilities ( anything can be made, any sentence begun ). This is contained in the words that may inspire others to action that may bring such a love closer toward reality. From disunity ( walking past each other ) to blindly walk[ing] into that which we cannot yet see, this poem now suggests the alternative of walking forward in that light guided by a new vision of a love that may unite us. I focused on the symbolic element of the poem, because I liked the presentation and how it flowed. It made me think about how far we ve come in this country. I believe that Elizabeth draws the reader into the poem just I was drawn, by suggesting that we as a nation that was literally built off the labor of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With all the battles and intense scenes, the movie is a thriller marvel in itself. However, the movie also has a lot of hidden political messages which are surreptitiously inscribed in the movie. The movie is about class conflict and economic inequality, using the train as an analogy. It has different cabins and each one represents a social class in the real world. As we move through different carts, we see the working class, for example, there is a school with students and a teacher, a chef who makes food for the upper class people. Then, there is a violinist who serves as an entertainer to different sections of the train. Another section grows plants and vegetation. Everyone has a function and a job on the train and the society. This is a representation of the working class in the real world. They live better lives than the poorest people but they still work for the capitalists. The working class is as essential to the capitalist class as any other class. Then there is the wealthy class which only parties and does not add to anything in the society. They just happen to waste the resources of the train. This wealthy class live lavish lives and don t have to worry about the basic necessities live food, clothes or shelter. The script is driven by solid themes about freedom, justice, and destiny. The tone is mainly dark and it presents with as a very disturbing and violent story. While the concept feels thought provoking, the overall script would benefit from more development. First, there s a solid inciting event when Justin is fired and called a derogatory name. His decision to buy the plantation is the catalyst that moves the story forward. His goal to reverse the power system, which he believes is controlled and run by the White Man drives act two. However, there s a very awkward transition in the structure. Justin buys the plantation and then suddenly he seems to go Rambo and gets violent looking for Cash and Cocaine. This change in his behavior from a rather passive man to a very violent man feels very jarring and inconsistent with the setup previously. In act two, Justin enacts his plan to abduct certain people. However, the plan goes too well. There s no conflict in his plan. Every person they decide to kidnap is easily abducted. Justin and his men are never almost caught. The idea of Rachel, Justin s former girlfriend, being in charge of the investigation is too much of a coincidence. It feels too contrived and this questions the credibility of the plot. The third act feels too passive with the idea of the courtroom trial. The third act should actually contain the strongest tension ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
