FEAR.pptx
Definition of FEAR
 Fear is an emotion induced by a perceived threat
which causes entities to quickly pull far away from it
and usually hide.We can also feel fear when faced with
less dangerous situations, like exams, public speaking,
a new job, a date, or even a party. It is a natural
response to something that a person feels is a threat.
What is fear?
 Fear is the result of endless desires, when the desires
are not fulfilled people worry & fear.
 Fear is felt by almost everyone from time to time, but
one must know how to deal with it.
 Fear paralyzes us that too when we need to take action.
Explaination
 The feeling that you have when something dangerous ,
painful or frightening might happen.
 Fear is not always adaptive. A small amount of fear
before an important speech serves a purpose- it
encourages you to focus on your topic and avoid
making a fool of yourself. This is one of the types of
fear that can be useful to sharpen our minds.
Acronym
 F.E.A.R is an acronym for False Evidence Appearing
Real. There’s no true threat of immediate physical
danger, no threat of a loss of someone or something
dear to us, actually nothing there at all.
Basic obstacles of fear
 Fear and worry
 Lack of confidence
 Lack of persistence
 Failure to take action
Fear –Its Symptoms
 When you feel frightened or seriously anxious, your
mind and body speed up. Some of the things that
might happen are:
# Heart beat gets very fast-may be it feels irregular.
#Breathing gets very fast
#muscles feel weak/sweat more
#stomach is churning or butterflies in the stomach
#can’t eat.
Common types of fear
 Failure
 Social phobias
 Fear of criticism
 Fear of death
 Fear of ill health
 Fear of poverty
 Fear of loss of love or not finding love
Cause
 Desire
 Attachment
Fear is coward
 It only attacks when you are weak and confused
Strategies to cope
 Better be prepared
 Just keep in mind everyone has this
 Only way to overcome this is by facing it
 Never try to be unnatural
See your fear
 So I want you to know that going from fear to fearless
is only a flick away for you too. It might take a while to
find that switch but once you do you can cut through
that fear light can cut through the darkness. When you
see your fear you will be able to overcome it.
Public speaking
 It is considered to be one of the biggest fears in the
world. It is greater than the fear of death even. It is a
very complex fear. You are afraid of failing and of
vulnerable in front of crowd of people. I still have a
little fear every now and then but the difference is that
it doesn’t take over me.
Fearless
 Krishna says that every time we experience fear we
must remember that at the same time there is
something fearless inside us too. Every time we doubt
there is part of us that is doubtless. Every time we are
sad there is a part of us that is still happy. This is so
important to know. Write it down and fear will never
overtake you.
 Whenever you feel fear read it and you can be fearless.
Greatest knowledge
 Krishna says “now I shall reveal to you the greatest
knowledge knowing which there will be no other
knowledge needed to be known. The earth, the air, the
fire, the space, the water, the mind, the body and the
intellect know that to be eight fold distinctive nature.
That is my lower nature and my higher nature Oh
Arjun know it to be other than that. I am the source of
all beings. Know all beings to be born of a dual nature.’’
Knowledge is power
 The first step is knowledge, knowing this above information. When you know
that a part of you is always fearless you will have the courage to overcome
anything. If you believe that there is a switch in you that can be turned then
you are already victorious. Everything else is trivial.
 Imagine there are channels in your mind and whenever you experience
something fearful your mind will create a channel and return to it whenever
you experience this fear again. It is the gunas that runs through these channels
and push fear to the surface. You need to create a new channel in your mind.
This channel will be like a fresh stream where you can collect good thoughts
and vibrations from. Whenever you experience fear you can go to this channel.
So to start being fearless you can be fearless during normal times. This will help
to train our mind. You do this by repeating this verse to yourself: “Himthe
weapons cannot cut, fire cannot burn, water cannot wet, wind cannot dry. The
self cannot be cut, dried, burnedor wetted...Eternal, all pervasive, stable,
immovable, everlasting the Self Reigns’’ Doing his will help you feel strong and
sure.
Execute your Knowledge
 The next step is to execute in the field of action. This is
where you are actually experiencing fear. Remember
that something in you is fearless. Keep remembering
as those thoughts come. As your fear increases you
increase your fearlessness. Make sure your surface
stays calm. You don’t need to know how just know that
your consciousness is fearless
Sloka in B.Gita related to fear
 “Abhayam satwa samsuddhi, Jnaana yoga
vyavasthithaha, Daanam damascha yajnascha,
Swaadhyaasyas tapa aarjavam.’’
 When only one thing is being occupied by the whole
UNIVERSE( i.e,. By a single person-GOD) , there is no
need to “fear.’’ When God alone is occupying the whole
universe in all forms - there is only one single person
present in this Universe Than whom are you afraid
Ways to conquer Fear
 Understand fear and embrace it.
 Fear exists to keep us safe. It is not inherently bad or
good but a tool we can use to make better decisions.
Fear isn’t designed to keep us inactive, but to help us
act in ways that generate the results we need and want.
Embrace fear as instruction and let it inform your
actions, but not control them.
Name the Fear
 Sometimes merely stating what your fear is gives you
the strength to deal with it. Say your fear out loud,
write it down, or focus your mind on it. When you try
to ignore your fear, it grows. When you face it, it
shrinks.
Think long term
 Thinking about the long term won’t fix your short term
problem, but it can help you think about it more
objectively and come up with the right solution.
Educate yourself
 We are afraid of nothing so much as the unknown. If
your fear is based on a lack of information, then get
the information or knowledge you need to examine the
situation based on facts rather than speculation.
Prepare, practice, role play
 The long standing top fear is the public speaking. In
many surveys, death itself ranks in second place to
standing in front of a group and opening your mouth.
If your fear is related to your performance in a certain
activity then prepare, practice, and role play.
Utilize peer pressure
 Have you ever done something scary, like jumping off a
high bridge into a river below, only because you were
with friends who were egging you on? Peer pressure,
like fear itself, can be positive or negative depending
on how it’s wielded. Surround yourself with people
who will push you to overcome the fears that are
holding you back from what you want.
Visualize success
 Mental mapping ensures that when the body moves,
It’s more likely to follow its pre-ordained path. The
same practice will prepare you to succeed at whatever
you are trying to achieve.
Follow others, find a recipe
 Are you doing something that has never been done, or
can you follow the footsteps of someone else who as
accomplished it before? Is there a formula for success?
Be willing to pivot
 As the adage goes, “If at first you don’t succeed, try , try
again.” But there’s also the saying “Insanity is doing the
same thing over and over again and expecting different
results.” If you are afraid to do something again
because it didn’t work out the last time, figure out why
it didn’t work, and try something different before you
give up trying altogether.
Conclusion
 It’s easy to ignore or deny our fears, even to ourselves,
in a society that stresses the importance of being
strong and brave, or among our peers, competitors.
But courage can’t come into play unless you have a fear
to face down. By owning your feelings you have taken
the first step toward gaining control over the situation.
It call all be manage and dominate by us.
THANK
YOU

Editor's Notes

  1. So we are all born with a dual nature. Our lower nature consists of all of these emotions such as fear but we also have a higher nature which is above all of that. So even when you are experiencing incredible fear your consciousness is always fearless. You just need to tap into it.
