We are currently seeking a highly motivated child and family health professional to contribute to our organizational
mission: working with our communities to promote and protect health and to prevent disease.
Reporting to the Manager of the Family Health Team, the Health Promoter is an integral member of a multidisciplinary
team. As a Health Promoter, your program focus within the Family Health team will be child, reproductive and oral health.
You will be responsible for the development of logic models and evaluation plans, data analysis, policy development and
campaign work. You will also provide consultation and expert advice to staff and community members regarding health
promotion theories and best practices as well as develop education and health promotion materials to meet program
objectives. The Health Promoter maintains current knowledge of the literature and critically appraises research to assist
with setting priorities, targeting programs and developing public health strategies related to the broader determinants of
health and reducing the inequities in health.
Interested applicants must have a Masters degree in health promotion, behavioural science or a related discipline, and
experience in health promotion, community mobilization, program planning, implementation and evaluation. The
applicant will have a minimum of two years experience in group facilitation techniques and a strong understanding of the
principles of population health, determinants of health, community development, social marketing, communications
strategies and policy development. A satisfactory criminal reference check is required. The successful candidate must
have access to a reliable vehicle and a current Ontario driver's licence.
