• In London two boys started following a fresh muddy footprint. The boys were wondering
who walks in London barefoot in middle of winter! The boys followed for a while and there
was no footprint, suddenly a footprint came out of nowhere and the boys were shocked.
They further followed the newly appearing footprints and was fascinated.
• The boys was actually following a scientist known as Griffin. Griffin was a scientist who
carried out experiment after experiment to make a human body invisible. Finally he took a
certain few rare drugs which made him invisible but the body would be physically present.
• Griffin lived in a rental house where his house owner didn’t like him,so in revege he set fire
to the owners house and ran away.To be invisible he cant wear clothes because it would
show his physical state but invisible.
• That’s when he happened to step on some mud which made him leave footprints which
the kids followed.
FOOT PRINTS WITHOUT FEET
• He escaped easily from the boys but he chose the wrong time to wander in London
invisible and without clothes because it was mid –winter.
• It was so cold outside so he chose to stay inside one of the biggest shops in London. When
the closing time arrived he went in and when the doors where shut he broke a few shops
and stole some clothes that would fit him and he was able to feed himself. Soon with
clothes he found cold meat and coffee in a shop that he had for supper. At last he settled
on some pile of quilts to sleep the rest of night.
• It was the opening time and Griffin was still asleep. After a couple of minutes he found the
store employees opening the doors which were shut for night. Griffin started running
without realizing he had clothes on him that could be seen. The employees started chasing
him and he managed to escape by removing all the clothes.
• After the incident in he decided to snuck into an theatrical company which had every
essentials to make his invisibility visible.
FOOT PRINTS WITHOUT FEET
• In the theatrical company he stole some fake moustaches, false nose, bandages that
would cover his face, glasses and a large hat and tried to steal every penny he could with
him.
• He went upstairs to try on the things he stole. He attacked the shopkeeper to escape out
safely. To get out of London and trouble he took a train to a village called IPING where he
booked two rooms in a local inn.
• The arrival of someone in mid-winter in the village was unusual because no one would
come for a vacation.
• The landlords wife Mrs.Hall was trying to get friendly as possible. When Mrs.Hall asked the
reason he came here in mid-winter Griffin replied "My reason for coming to Iping is a desire
for solitude. I do not wish to be disturbed in my work. Besides, an accident has affected my
face.”
• Mrs.Hall was paid advance by Griffin and she was satisfied that her guest was an scientist.
FOOT PRINTS WITHOUT FEET
• Soon after a clergyman and his wife was disturbed in sleep because they were hearing
opening noises of the draw in their room. They heard a chink of coins taken away. The
clergyman without noise took a poker firmly and yelled “surrender”!
• When he arrived at the room the room was empty. They were still suspicious so they
looked around everywhere and when finally opening the draw they saw the money in it
was stolen. It was the housekeeping money that they were saving.
• After a while the landlord and his wife was up and they noticed that Griffins door was still
open. They were so furious about his room so they snuck in only to see a room without a
man whose bed Is still cold. They knew he was up already and is somewhere now. Also
another strange thing was that the bandages and clothes that Griffin wore where placed In
a chair.
FOOT PRINTS WITHOUT FEET
• Mrs.Hall heard a sniff close to her. After a movement the hat on the bedpost leapt up and
dashed itself into her face. Then the bedroom chair came to life which was Springing into
the air and it charged straight at her, legs foremost. As she and her husband turned away in
terror, the extraordinary chair pushed them both out of the room and then appeared to
slam and lock the door after them.
• Mrs.hall almost fall of from the stairs in the mess. She was later convinced that the room
was haunted by spirits. She claimed that her mother used to sit in the chair that pushed
them outside the room. The incident in the clergyman’s house and in Griffins house made
the neighbours suspect the mad scientist.
• The suspicion even grew when Griffin got ready cash immediately the day when the
clergyman’s money was stolen. The village constable was secretly sent to investigate the
case of Griffin. Mrs.hall demanded Griffin to tell what he had been doing to the chair
upstairs. Griffin was quick tempered and he said”You don’t understand who or what I am.
“Very well — I’ll show you.”
FOOT PRINTS WITHOUT FEET
• After he shouted at everyone Griffin started removing every one of the fakes and
bandages he wore to maintain his presence and identity. Everyone was in shock that he
was headless. Mr.Jaffers, the constable, started the procces of arresting a headless man
who is actually invisible.
• The policeman and others tried to catch him but he easily dodged everything. He didn’t
want to get caught so he threw all of the clothes that he wore. Everyone that tried
catching him had a blow unpredictable from any unexpected direction. At last the
constable was unconscious and everyone was shouting “hold him” nut it was easier to
Griffin to escape out of there.
