Unit 3 focuses on getting students ready for transfer level courses through flipped teaching with math videos students must watch before class. The instructor will check that students watched videos and took notes in each class, no longer providing note templates. Group work will now be graded in class with students earning points for participating, and cannot be made up if absent. Homework from the textbook and online platform will no longer be collected, though similar questions may appear on exams.
2. Flip Teaching and Videos
The videos take the place of reading a math text book. I
ask that you watch the videos BEFORE class so you
have prior knowledge.
I will be checking every class for videos and notes. You
may take notes in any manner you see fit.
I will no longer be providing note templates.
All videos are in one place instead of throughout Power
Points.
3. Group Work
Group Work will now be graded in class. If you are
in class and participating you get 10 points for each
group work.
I will no longer be taking group work from you!
Group work cannot be made up if you are absent
Please refer to the syllabus
4. Textbook HW and My Math Lab
I will no longer be collecting homework from
the text or My Math Lab. Please note that
questions similar to the homework will be on
the free response portion of the exam.
