Global Strategic Account Manager – West Coast
Global Plastics Company is seeking an experienced Strategic Account Manager based
along the West Coast of the USA to take the lead commercial role in supporting and maintaining
business for elastomeric/plastic/rubber products at strategic International Key Accounts as well as
developing new programs with the overall goal of delivering profitable growth for the company.
This position includes identifying, screening and qualifying new global business opportunities with
emerging international key accounts and associated processor base, maximizing the value
proposition and coordinating the support needed to close new business on a global basis.

Key Job Responsibilities:
• Primarily responsible for coordinating and driving profitable growth of sales at assigned OEM-
International Key Accounts (Primarily West Coast based) on a global basis.
• Develop strong business relationships across all critical decision-makers and influencers at
assigned account customers to further strengthen the company and build upon our position as a
preferred value-added supplier. Negotiate supply contracts and value packages to insure a
return on resources invested, implementing global product/pricing strategies and business
practices as appropriate. Establish alignment between the customer’s business strategy and the
company’s product and global service capabilities.
• Identify and develop new strategic International Key Accounts. Understand the key players,
end-use applications, requirements, trends, and needs.
• Develop strategic account plans and implement tactics to drive success.
• Establish communication and linkage between the OEMs, their processors and other global
partners including close coordination internally with sales, technical and customer support
personnel.
• Coordinate closely with Technical Development personnel to screen and validate new customer
growth opportunities including assessment of the financial/margin impact of individual projects.
Implement product, pricing and market strategies as appropriate.
• Monitor the competition to better understand issues and threats and develop plans to eliminate
or establish barriers.
• Establish individual performance standards, goals and objectives - measure and provide
feedback.
• Develop, execute and manage sales plans and budgets as required. Manage travel and
entertainment expenses and report in a timely fashion.
• Effectively use e-mail and voicemail to communicate regularly and broadly. Ensure smooth
transitions to regional sales, customer service, global partners and manufacturing.

Job Requirements:
• Minimum of 5-10 years of global/OEM account management experience, possessing excellent
interpersonal communication skills along with strong commercial sales, price negotiation and
presentation capabilities.
• Technical degree or equivalent based on prior work experience within the plastics industry.
• Minimum of 10 years of selling into the plastics industry experience, preferably within the
compounds sector, or with a major resin manufacturer.
• Proven track record of generating and closing new business opportunities at global customers.
• Strong inner drive, self-motivation and goal-orientation.
• Proven track record of coordinating multiple projects within Asia from US based location.
• Experience working with various cultures and business approaches.
• Experience with key account management and strategic planning tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with SAP
environment and CRM a plus.
• Ability to travel 40%-50% of time within the US and ability to travel internationally.
• Should currently live in either CA, OR, or WA. May consider candidates in AZ, CO, or UT.

         The company is offering a base salary of $90-110K, $30K bonus potential,
                           car allowance, & excellent benefits.
