GOOD TOUCH
(Safe touch)
vs.
BAD TOUCH
(Unsafe touch)
• What do you mean by the word
Good?
• What do you mean by the word
Bad?
• Touches
and
Feelings
What do they mean?
• Good Touch
– A good touch for me is when someone gives
me a hug and says hi.
– What about you?
• Bad Touch
– Bad touch for me is when
someone hits me.
– Or someone who I don’t
know touches me when I
don’t want to be
touched.
– Or someone touches me,
where I don’t want to be
touched
– What about you?
• Who according to you will give
you a good touch?
• What kind of a touch will they give
you?
• Who according to you will give
you a bad touch?
• What kind of a touch will they give
you?
Activity time:
• Ask a volunteer to come up on to the stage and then do the
following:
• 1. Shake hands with the kid and ask other students to notice his/her
facial expression. Let them judge whether he/she is happy or
unhappy; whether it’s a good touch or a bad one.
• 2. Next, again shake hands with the same kid but this time rub it for
a little longer (making it a little uncomfortable for the kid) and ask the
students to judge the facial expression and whether it’s a good
touch or a bad touch.
• Story Narration:
• In order to help kids understand better,
narrate a story in which a kid of their age
has experienced some kind of bad touch
and how he/she dealt with it.
• This will help them connect more with the
topic.
How many of us like hugs,
kisses, and touches from people
we know, love, and trust?
• How about those same kinds
of touches from people we do not
know, do not like, or do not trust?
• When we get touches, we get feelings
inside.
Good touches give us good feelings.
• Sometimes touches can give us bad
feelings inside .
– Sad
– Frightened
– Unloved
– Unwanted
• Do you like to be tickled?
– How many of us do not like
being tickled?
– For those of us who like
being tickled, is that a
good touch or a bad touch?
– For those of us who do not
like being tickled, is that a
good touch or a bad
touch?
• Tickling!!
– Sometimes even when we think
tickling is a good touch it can
become a bad touch.
– Before we get started, can
everyone give a thumbs up
sign? How about a thumbs down
sign?
– Good! Now if you like to be
tickled then give a thumbs up
and if you do not like to be
tickled then give a thumbs down.
• When tickling becomes bad touch.
– It lasts too long
– It is too hard
– It starts to hurt
– You start to cry
– It gets hard to breathe
– You are being touched in your private areas
– Strangers like bus attendants, drivers or lift
men try to tickle
• You make the call!!!
If you get a touch you do not like what is it
called?
A Bad Touch!!
• You are the one who decides
what makes you uneasy!
• Make sure nobody touches you
on your private parts except for
your parents.
If someone gives you a bad touch then who
can you tell?
– Parents
– Grandparents
– Teacher
– Other trusted
adults
• Will it ever be your fault if someone tried to
break a touching rule with you? No.
• If it’s not your fault,
• Whose fault is it? THE PERSON WHO DID
THE TOUCHING.
