 Start to catch yourself if you are passing up a
chance for learning, if you feel labeled after a
failure, feel discouraged if something is
hard.
 Next time something is hard, put yourself in
a growth mindset: Picture your brain
forming new connections as you meet the
challenge and learn
Visualize
 Is there something in your past that labeled you (a grade, a
test score, being rejected)? Focus on that thing, feel the
emotions, and put yourself in a growth mindset: Know it
doesn’t define you and ask: What can I learn from that
experience/ How can I use it as a basis for growth?
 Next time you feel challenged in a class, put yourself in a
growth mindset- think about learning, confronting the
obstacles, your neurons wiring together and don’t give up!
 Is there something you’ve always wanted to do but were
afraid you weren’t good at it and feared you didn’t know how
to do it?
 Be in a Growth mindset and Make a plan to do it?

 Being in a Growth mindset takes practice, let’s read
the article they are talking about in the clip
 As you are reading, write down the key points (use
SQ3R) we’ll do the recite and review.
 How can you grow your intelligence? What is the key
to growing the brain? What is the truth about smart
and dumb? What can you do to get smarter?
 Look at Survey again, has your mindset changed?
 If you know this, you can do anything!!!!!!!!
