2. Company advertisement at the moment
Currently there only way of getting the
company name about is by using a Facebook
page they have, this is a good start but not
enough as not many kids or teenagers use
Facebook anymore as its outdated which is
why I made an Instagram account for them
which more of the younger audience use
also I created a poster as well as a Youtube
video to really get the message around.
They currently have 133 members so the
plan is to increase that to 500 and hopefully
more.
3. Purpose of the marketing campaign
The purpose of this marketing campaign is to help other
kids/teenagers to know about what's available as Boxing helps with
fitness and mental health and by advertising this I'm not just helping
the boxing club im helping the other people.
4. Target Audience?
There Target audience is all male and females of all ages over 6+
This is a boxing gym for anyone. They raise money for charity which
you can be apart of what they did was organise an event called
white-collar boxing matches, this is amateur boxing for new people
who sign up and get 8 weeks of free training and vs someone else of
the same standard and all the profits go to charity so it benefits
your life and someone else's. They also need new members to keep
them going and training kids to help themselves and keep there
business going.
5. Primary Research
I interviewed a few males and female teenagers aged about 14-16 since
they use social media the most thought it would be best but not a single
one had said they heard of the boxing club also I spoke to a few new
members at the club and ask them how was the change of doing nothing
straight to boxing and they said it changed there lifestyle massively one of
them I quote said “It makes me feel a lot better fitness wise and boxing is
very important to me” I would show the interview but they did not want
to go on camera. In my survey I also added which social media page they
used the most and the majority picked Instagram so That’s why I created
an Instagram page for the boxing club and when I asked which got used
more out of newspapers and Youtube, Youtube done tremendously better
so I made a promotional video on the boxing club. They spend 20+ hours
on YouTube a week so I Think that will be most successful. They have a
Facebook page with 133 members we can improve this.
6. Secondary Research
I was looking for some competition and I could find one other boxing gym but Harton
had better reviews the plan is to get the boxing gym well known and spread also I was
looking for stats about boxing in general and its one of the more popular fighting
activities there is also Boxing keeps you the most fit out of all sports as it’s the most
exhausting according to this article I found on the sport Also with media consumption
recently people are watching fights online It’s the new media where normal stuff
you’ll do like read a book you can read online which is why I done another social
media page and YouTube video to Help counter that and take advantage of the fact
everything is done online. There was articles on Chris about all the money he raised
for charity 120 thousand it says on the shields gazette which is really good publicity I
was looking at other boxing companies and there name in particular and it made me
think the name of the boxing club was too long so I was considering asking to change
it too Harton Boxing club. Also I was thinking on the way people consume media and
how would be the best to spread the message of this boxing club and I found out most
people used Instagram so I created a page for that and lots of people Watch videos on
Youtube rather than anywhere else so I made a promotional video and I was thinking
where I would put the poster and I though what people use most next to bus stops and
trains as well as gyms for people who want to keep in shape. The stats that show me
this is Instagram is the most downloaded app with 1.76 million downloads on just
Iphone alone and they have more users as well as YouTube being free to advertise on
and becoming more popular than TV recently its looking good if I post on there.
7. Ideas on which platforms?
My first platform is Instagram. What I’m going to do is create a page
with all the achievements the club has done and take some of the
Facebook page to make a good social page to spread the name
about also check who follows pro boxers and follow them as they
may be interested in joining. Another social page is Youtube im
going to create a Promotional video showing the gyms trait and put
the contact details and address on the video to make sure people
know where to go if they enjoy what they see. Finally I’m going to
make a poster so its not all digital for the rare few people that
don’t have an electronic device with the details and logo of the
Boxing club.
8. Schedule Ideas
The way I'm going to Release each project is I'm going to start is
with the Instagram page looking if I get feedback then ill advertise
the video through The Instagram account so then the boxing people
who follow will want to see it then at the end I will show the poster
so then it all links and make sure the most people get to know
about the boxing club and with me putting posters up near bus
stops, trains and gyms It should work out getting the most publicity
for the Club
9. Planning
The equipment I’ll need is a mac with Photoshop and premier pro as well
as a camera with an SD card which is not a problem as the college provides
all the equipment for the campaign which means its good on that part also
I plan on going march the 20th as that’s when Chris the person who runs
the place said I could come in and interview people and record for the
video so I can get a good luck at what I'm campaigning for. The message
my campaign will have is if you join this club your not only helping
yourself but others as well as you could be helping charity also with your
boxing. Another thing I'm campaigning as boxing can help with mental
health as getting yourself Fit and knowing how to fight can not only keep
you distracted but confident in yourself as well. It would also be a big help
to the community helping more people getting fit and active as well as of
the streets
10. Prepared material
Here are some raw footage and my manipulation of the logo as you
can see on the top left photo, I stolen that from the Facebook page
and taken the Rep Challenge bit of and used it for my Poster I kept
the logo the same apart from that as I liked the way it was designed
but I added for the poster manipulation Mohamed Ali and a pair of
boxing gloves since it’s Boxing place I'm advertising I also had to add
the address and the number for the place. I'm going to Add this
poster at the end of the video as well so it links up the
advertisement. This raw footage here is what I'm going to edit and
put into my film but it may not be put in as I have lots of spare
material for my film also I made A flat plan for the poster just
incase I needed the guidence and it worked well.
11. Pre-Testing
This is my pre testing of my Instagram page
and some people are already commenting
on of the posts asking about the club so
this makes me aware its working also the
video’s views are going up so the content
testing seems to be working and I showed
the video before putting it online I showed
it to some and they were happy and said it
was good Also I put the Poster in The video
seeing if anyone would take action. I need
to make improvements on Adding more
photos which I did for the account and also
Needed to Add more pictures to the Poster
which I also did as it was just too plain.
12. Learning Aim C
The Materials I used will be linked in a Loop, Its starts of with the Instagram Where I follow
a bunch of people who are interested in boxing by who they follow and if they live locally
near south shields, then that grabs some Attention then I will Add a link to the Promotional
Video I did if people want to see they will click on the Link and watch and at the end they
will see the Poster I created For the campaign and The poster will Have the Name and
address of the boxing club. I will put posters near gyms bus stops and train station as
everyone uses them they will all link as if you see one you always have the opportunity to
se the video or the Instagram page I used a mix of Dark and Bright colors as the target
audience is everyone but I made sure red white and blue were used for it as it suites the
boxing theme. I plan to Release the campaign on the 3rd of june and hopefully It should
start taking the full effect by 20th if I make sure the order goes posters Instagram then
Video with doing this it should grab more attention to the club. The publicity will be
optimized as with the video and Instagram being more popular than Facebook is currently
only got 133 members but were expecting to improve this by a lot more with there being
more social pages to this project. The message to this campaign is to get people involved
with activities and keep people from reality and have fun and get fit as boxing can be good
for Mental health So it shows on the video by the videos of people working hard and on the
Instagram of people achieving big things and on the poster with Muhammad who’s a great
fighter, will give great confidence.
13. Manipulation of my products
For my video product I used a few editing techniques as I couldn't’t just add random footage and upload it I
needed to make sure the video flowed to achieve its purpose. At the beginning I added a Title sequence where I
created an intro with basic font and just the name of what I'm actually promoting. I then decided I should use a
non-diegetic soundtrack in the background I'm doing this to add excitement to my product and for the younger
target audience music is a key element to keeping them interested on the video, Another technique I'm going to
use is the cross dissolve transition this will make sure the video will have a smoother flow to it without it jumping
from clip to clip. Another technique used was adding a screenshot of the poster adding this at the end will make
sure that I use cross platforming and convince people to ring them up and ask about the club.
