2. Team Prayer
Fr. Brian Cavanaugh, TOR
God created this day for...
gain not loss,
success not failure,
positive actions not negative thoughts.
O Lord inspire us with desire for greatness,
to wisely use these gifts and talents
you have so generously given to us.
They are tools to be used,
not treasures to be stored up.
Create in these young athletes:
the Right Attitude to excel in the classroom
and in life. The attitude that says "I can reach
deeper inside myself."
The Firm Belief in God, themselves,
their families, and their teammates,
to have great expectations for their future.
The Enduring Commitment to persevere,
to never quit no matter what the score,
to never give up no matter what the odds.
Amen.

Dear View Park Preparatory High School Family:
On behalf of the View Park Preparatory Accelerated Char-
ter High School family, I welcome you to our 2010-2011 Arabian
Knights, Homecoming Celebration. For the past eight years we
have been extended the privilege of honoring the outstanding
accomplishments of our students, teachers, staff, parents and
community members. As a learning community I am humbled by
our continued ability to develop well rounded scholars.
We are grateful to have a legacy of four brilliant alumni
classes (2007, 08, 09 and 10) who have soared in academic achievement, college ad-
missions, community service, leadership and athleticism. Furthermore, our alumni
have continued to demonstrate persistence across the nation by maintaining a 90%
college attendance rate. It is for these reasons that we celebrate their achievement.
While we acknowledge their successes, we understand the importance of challenging
all succeeding classes to vigorously press forward toward even greater victories.
This evening we honor students, parents, teachers, and community members who
consistently dedicate countless hours toward preserving our vision of preparing all
students to attend and compete at the top 100 colleges and universities in the nation. I
encourage the VPPHS family to survey the crowd as we appreciation our collective op-
portunity to enrich the lives of over 400 students within our community.
To the alumni family we thank you for your ongoing support. To the current VPPHS
students, I ask that you responsibly enjoy this weekend’s festivities.
To the View Park Preparatory High School family as a whole always remember that
every new day yields greater opportunities for success!
Sincerely,
Dr. Darnise R. Williams
DIRECTOR
