2. A Brief Biography Of Thurgood Marshall
In 1908, Thurgood Marshall was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Norma and Willie. Norma, his
mother, was a schoolteacher and his father, Willie, was a railroad porter and a steward at a Maryland
country club. On the southern rim of the Mason Dixon line, the Baltimore of Marshall s boyhood was
rigidly segregated. But there was also a thriving black business district and a well organized black
middle class. Since Marshall grew up where it having a black community was a little more accepting
than other places, it made him understand what the differences were between the blacks and whites.
Marshall attended Lincoln University, which was an all black school. The state university in Baltimore
was segregated, so Marshall commuted by train to all black Howard University Law School in
Washington, D.C. At sunrise, Marshall caught the train to Washington; he often took the last train
home at night. In 1933, Thurgood Marshall graduated at the top of his class from Howard University
Law School. Throughout his time at University Marshall was helping Charles Hamilton Houston with
law cases; Houston went on to become the chief lawyer for the National Association for the
Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), which Houston asked Marshall to join. In 1935, Marshall

3. Religion Is Defined As A Set Of Beliefs, Practices, And...
Introduction
Religion is defined as a set of beliefs, practices and values based on the teachings of a spiritual leader,
the majority of religions in practice today revolve around God, multiple Gods or even God like
figures.[ ] This definition of religion covers the vast majority of religions in practice today, for
instance Christianity where God and Jesus are worshipped and Islam where God and Mohammad are
worshipped. Although religions differ in terms of the way in which they are practiced and is worship,
they all contain moral codes, which in short all points towards being a good person.
Spirituality, commonly believed to be a portion of religion, is defined as the search for meaning in life
or the way in which an individual expresses meaning and purpose and the way one experiences their
connectedness to the moment, to others and nature. [ ] From this definition it becomes evident that one
is not required to follow a religion to be spiritual and the two are separate practices .
Religion is found in many shapes and forms, approximately 85% of the world s population identify
themselves as a follower of a religion, this illustrates that religion is indeed a big part of modern
culture.[ ]
To obtain primary data on the topic, a survey has been created and sent out to the youths attending a
private Christian college, the data gathered from the survey will be utilised to understand the primary
influences on youths concerning religion and spirituality. Research and

overwhelming evidence continued to be stacked against George Jacobs, and with spectral evidence
being the most riveting. Accusations against George Jacobs included nearly ten names. All ten or so
claimed similar things of George Jacobs. If they are not being physically abused or afflicted by his
specter, then they see the specter afflicting the others. Other men, predominantly of the Putnam family
began to testify to witnessing the specter of George Jacobs afflicting the girls. The primary witness
against George Jacobs was Sarah Churchill. Her witness accounts were at best hyperbolized. Margaret
Jacobs and her grandfather George Jacobs were both accused by Sarah Churchill. Margaret Jacobs
was only 17 when she was accused of practicing witchcraft. Margaret just a young girl at the time
confessed after being accused of practicing witchcraft. Margaret accused her grandfather and George
Burroughs because they were already among those that stood accused by other girls in the village.
However, Margaret s conscience would become her undoing. The burden of accusing others weighed
heavily on her. She would later recant her confession. Although her recantation did nothing to save her
grandfather, Margaret continued to proclaim innocence. She awaited being sentenced and eventually
death, but luck would be on her side. When Margaret was supposed to stand trial in her own defense
she suffered from a physical illness. Margaret s physically illness postponed her trial, and shortly after

5. Market Entry Modes
International market entry modes allow firms to enter foreign markets and can choose the most
appropriate entry mode for their industry. After analysing market drivers, demand and consumer
behaviour, Pharmaceutical firms may choose the most strategic mode of entry to enter a market. The
market entry mode is strategic and is regarded as a major factor in the Internationalisation process
(Morschett et al.,2015, p.323). As illustrated below, the International market entry model outlines that
Pharmaceutical firms may enter foreign markets through Exports/Imports, Subsidiaries,
Mergers/Acquisitions, Joint ventures, or Licensing.
Figure 2.4 An international market entry model for pharmaceutical companies. (Adapted from Javalgi
Wright,2003, p.277).
Joint Venture
A joint venture is characterised by the need to achieve a business transaction while remaining separate
from each other. Each firm maintains its resources and independence while engaging in an activity,
with the objective of achieving certain objectives. The need for joint ventures in the Pharmaceutical
industry may be characterised by the need to reduce high R D costs and by so doing, share costs
through common equity (Roijakkers Hagedoon,2005, p.8). Joint venture as a mode of market entry

In process licensing, a firm gives the licensee the right to use production processes. This type of
licensing may be common in the Pharmaceutical industry, regarding patented drugs/products. Product
licensing allows a firm to grant specific rights in the manufacture of products, while distribution
licensing gives the licensee the ability to market and distribute products in an area. Brand licensing
allows a firm to use a firm s brand. Licensing enables the licensor to benefit from the skills,
comparative advantage, and other capacities of the licensee (Morschett et al., 2015,

6. Comparing Greek And Native American Creation Stories
Firstly, I would like to start off with the beginning where Greek creation stories with other creation
stories all started with chaos (nothing). Gaia and Uranus which were created as Mother Earth and the
Sky. Then Erebus was created in the void. In the Chinese creation story, the passage says all was
chaos, and this chaos was shaped like a hen s egg. Inside the egg were Yin and Yang , which were the
two opposing forces of which the universe was made. However the difference is that Gaia and Uranus
went on to give birth to Rhea and Cronus then they went onto giving birth to gods such as Zeus,
Poseidon and so on... There is a little more difference from the Greek creation stories and the Native
American creation stories, in the native American creation stories, the old man Kumish was created
and he would do all the creation himself rather than in the Greek creation stories; other gods creating
separate things. In Serbian creation stories in the beginning there was nothing but God. He slept and
dreamed for ages and he woke up at last at one point. As he woke up, every glance formed a star and
as he travelled the universe was created.
In the Chinese creation story, the world was created when the chaos (which was the shape of a hen s
egg) was rented apart. The elements were created, the heavier ones sank to form earth and the lighter

Adolf Hitler and Francisco Franco were both authoritarian dictators who had extremely similar goals

consolidation of said power have significant and notable differences. While Franco went on to rule
Spain until his death in 1975, both dictators had been in power at the same time, and with their similar
ideas had formed a cordial relationship. Hitler and Franco both wanted the same thing: unity in their
country, and total rule. In order to do this, they established one party rules (Nazi and Falange) and
began their rise to power. What made both of these men so popular, was the fact that they both
encouraged anti communist ideas. These ideas

7 Tips to Buy a Quality Backpack

suitcases, but there are ideal only if you are going to beach resorts or city destinations. Duffels are
ideal for short trips. But there is nothing as flexible as a backpack. Whether you are getting your first
bag, or you want to replace your old one with a new one, the following tips will help you find the best
backpack in the market, so that you get something that is worth your money.

Normally, walking involves carrying lot weight as compared to other types. You should try a couple of
brands to make sure that the straps and frame are comfy on your back.
4. Check the weight of the back
Backpacks that feature handles and wheels are incredible, but the additional features can add more
weight. Consider the weight of the backpack because this can use the baggage allowance, especially
when you are traveling by plane. Also, it is crucial to make sure that the wheel mechanism is stable
and strong because handlers can break easily. You don t need a backpack with damaged wheels
because you will only be carrying additional weight
5. Consider a daypack
Those are used to carrying a large backpack, also bring a small backpack, especially when they are
going on a short term trip. There are two types of daypacks. There are specially made daypacks that
are fitted to the back of the primary backpack or the foldaway bags that are attached inside the
primary backpack. Most trekking bags come with specially designed daypacks that are fitted to the
backpack.
The best thing about daypacks is that they are ideal for all kinds of travel. They are flexible with short
term vacations, without the need to carry a bigger baggage. You can leave the main bag in the
storeroom and your hostel or hotel or the locker at the airport or the bus station.

If you go on YouTube and watch how the races were broadcast in the 1980s and 1990s you ll see there
were no gimmicks, no pre race concerts, no interviews with celebrities pretending to like NASCAR
(unless they were giving the command to start engines which are much better than seeing a CEO or
vice president do it), no specials featuring a feel good or sob story from someone in NASCAR. It was
about one thing and that was the race itself. They interviewed a few drivers, told any news going on in
the sport and that was it, no B.S. NASCAR could really learn a lot from Formula Ones pre race show.
One thing that is incredibly missed in the broad cast presentation is the starting lineup. The 1988
Daytona 500 starting lineup presentation (which you can see here) is exactly how it should be done. It
makes the races seem more dramatic and epic and even shows the cars too which is important because
it will help new fans identify quickly who is driving what car. Today they go through the starting
lineup in 30 seconds and even stop announcing it sometimes once they get to about 25th place.
Another issue is that there is hardly any variety in the camera angles. For almost the entire race
(except replays) you are seeing the same 5 shots of the race. Every single shot around the turns are
shots from right along the wall. The in car cameras are also getting boring because

10. Ohio Valley Film Analysis
The new people of the United States negatively affected the various eastern and southern Native
American tribes. Both regions of tribes were forced to be removed from their homeland and were
deceived with various treaties. In the Ohio Valley, through a series of battles and dubious treaties the
new United States laid claim to Indian lands on the frontier. This overall continuous push of Native
Americans west contributed to the political and war uprising of Tecumseh. Tecumseh voiced to his
people that the white people would never stop, they would keep pushing the Native American people
off of their land. Tecumseh, unwilling to let this happen, rallied up as many alliances with other
surrounding tribes, but the southern tribes would not join. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The tribes which occupied the countries now constituting the Eastern States were annihilated or have
melted away to make room for the whites, which is an example of why Tecumseh and his army joined
with the British and tried to reclaim their land, as described in the film. The film and the textbook
compare in that they both describe the trial of tears and how it impacted the Native American people.
In the textbook, the Native Americans are described as wounded, the sick, newborn babies and the old
men on the point of death with nearly one quarter of them dying from exhaustion and disease. In
comparison, the film gives perspective of what the terrible march was like, explaining that families
were forced out of their homes with nothing to bring but what they could carry. The document and the
textbook compare in that both express how political leader especially Andrew Jackson advocated that
the Native Americans were preventing the United States from growing their empire. For most white
Americans, the Indians were in the way of their growing empire, and Andrew Jackson agreed by
saying, what good man would prefer a country covered with forests and ranged by a few thousand
savages to our extensive Republic, studded with cities, towns, and prosperous

The hard disk is a combination of electronic and mechanical portions, which makes it the one of the
slowest parts of the computer (White 87). A graphic card is usually plugged into one of the expansion
slots, which are metallic contacts on the motherboard (White 119). One of the most common
expansion slots is PCI – peripheral components interconnect. PCI are most commenly white slots
used to attach a graphic or sound card, also modem or network card (White 120). Latest expansion slot
used for graphic cards only is AGP – accelerated graphic port, which is faster than PCI (White 121).
Both PCI and AGP based adapters use SVGA – super video graphics array as a modern standard,
which added new capabilities, such as higher resolution and color depth to the previous VGA
interface. Super VGA allows as many as 16 million colors also called 32 bit color, or true
color(Stephen 1253). There are three major factors defining the speed of a graphic adapter, overall
performance depends on the chipset speed, performance and capacity of graphic random access
memory and the expansion slot architecture (Stephen 1258). One of the other factors defining speed of
a video adapter is the software driver. Even the finest accelerator board hardware can bog down when
run with careless, loosely written code (Stephen 1259). Graphic cards have their own BIOS software
which is firmware, or permanently recorded in a memory device such as ROM – read only memory,
and usually can not be modified.

One way that authors attempt to get their readers to think about the environment is by drawing
attention to the fact that people harm it. For example, in The Dark Side of the Perfectly Manicured

writes, At first, its impact on humans seems mild skin and eye irritation, nausea, vomiting, dizziness,
stiffness in the arms and legs, (Jenkins, 2016). In the event that these symptoms aren t off putting

Gene Stratton Porter uses this technique in her book, Moths of the Limberlost. Instead of talking about
chemicals and pesticides and the dangers of using then, Stratton Porter gets us to think about the
environment by promoting it. Then the Winter Swamp had all the lacy exquisite beauty of such
locations when snow and frost draped, while from May until October it was practically tropical jungle,
she writes (Citation here). Not only does she focus on the land and plants, but she also talks about the
animals that live in this swamp, primarily moths, calling them, fragile night wanderers and
moonflowers of June s darkness (Citation here). The Limberlost Swamp sounds like a beautiful place
that you would want to visit, right? Of course, the hidden implication is that you can t, or at least not
unless humans change the way we treat the environment.
An additional technique used by authors to motivate readers to treat the environment well is using
fictional works to get their message across. A well known example of this is The Lorax by Dr. Seuss.

today, but eventually you realize that it isn t just about truffalump trees being cut down; it s about real

Furthermore, these initiatives are designed to support Black males as they navigate through their

18. Intercultural Communication
With the growing of globalization, opportunities of intercultural communication become more
common to individuals everyday life. Thus, it is of vital importance that people understand linguistic
relativity and language ideologies in order to avoid misunderstandings and achieve effective
intercultural communication.
First of all, understanding linguistic relativity encourages people to pay attention to differences
between various languages. How people perceive and experience the world around them can be
influenced by language differences. (Piller, 2011) For example, people may act differently depending
on what languages they are using. Daniel Oh explained that in Korea, people need to use honorifics in
sentences when they speak to people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another aspect of linguistic relativity is communicative relativity. A simple way to define
communicative relativity is that people do different things with language differently . (Piller, 2011) On
one hand, it is obvious that multilingual people tend to switch languages when talking to people from
different cultures. On the other hand, differentiation in language can also take place in the
monolingual situation. For instance, in the scene of debating, people may use a very different form of
English than usual. Kyle Ritchie said that the words, tone, and even speaking styles used by myself
and fellow debaters was purely for the performance . (reflection, May 1, 2017) This kind of choices of
words and tone is aimed to be more professional and knowledgeable (reflection, May 1, 2017)
Therefore, different ways of expression in various languages or even the same language can have a
different effect on communication. To succeed in intercultural communication, it is necessary for
individuals to understand the distinctive way each language has to perceive the world and express
ideas and make right decisions of using language.
In addition, in the intercultural communication, discrimination associated with language ideologies
often exists. Language ideology refers to the views on each language, especially the idea about what a
good language is and what is linguistically right . (Piller, 2011) Some

Post World War II, the United States and the Soviet Union were the two poles of the bipolar world; the
two most powerful nations at that time. From a neorealist s point of view, bipolarity is the ideal case
scenario since both the superpowers will have fear of each other and hence there would be less
international conflicts. However, the Cold War failed to prove this point. The US (a capitalist state)
and the Soviet Union (a communist state) had conflicting beliefs about government and economics;
hence, the disagreements led to the Cold War. The Cold War is believed to have lasted from 1947
1991, a span of 44 years with the Soviet Union eventually being dissolved. The war had long term

Francis Fukuyama, another political scientist, reflected that human nature strives for supremacy and
recognition, which eventually leads to conflicts between different governances. Francis Fukuyama, the
author of the book, The End of History , considered that humans tend to move their lives towards an
end point; which in post Cold War scenario was to eliminate communism and assert liberal democracy
as the universal model of governance. After the Cold War, communism had been overcome by
democracy and hence, according to him, the history had come to an end. He also believes that China
has an efficient authoritarian centralized system with no constraint or checks and balances. This
system can outperform democracy in the short run because decisions can be made quickly hence better
for investment and growth. However, the US and Western Europe have lots of checks and balances
hence, decisions on impending plans cannot be made immediately. The question now is which system
is more sustainable going forward? He thinks that checks and balances and democracy is superior in
the long run because you need to have good leadership and the right leaders for a liberal system to be
implemented properly. After all, he believed that the only form of government across the globe will
eventually be liberal democracy. I consider Fukuyama s deduction that we have reached the End of
History as premature at this point in history. Former British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, stated:
End of history? Beginning of nonsense. After 1990, since the end of Cold War, there have been several
wars and genocides, 9/11 attacks, the emergence of ISIS; all disproving Fukuyama s

20. Lab Report Lava Flow
Title: How Lava Flows
Background: Viscosity is a liquid s resistance to flow. For example water would have a low viscosity
while syrup has high. The higher temperature the lower viscosity and the lower temperature the higher
viscosity. Cold syrup will move slower than hot syrup because the molecules are more tightly packed
together while hots are very loose and free. Silica will cause the syrups viscosity to increases, so the
more silica it has the more the viscosity will increase. If water is added to syrup the viscosity will
decrease because water has a lower viscosity. Gas can easily escape lava that has a low viscosity while
lava with higher viscosities, gas pressure will build up and might lead to big eruptions.

The lava flow was fast. An error was that the syrup was poured too fast and to much of it came out, so
it may have messed up the time. Viscosity is a liquid s resistance to flow. Velocity is the speed of

are tightly packed together. The viscosity of the is very high since it does not flow very fast. Therefore
it flowed the slowest. The velocity of the team rooms data was 3.7 cm/s. In the room temperature

colds. So it flowed a bit more faster then the colds. It flowed faster but not as fast as the hots. The
velocity for team hots data was 6.8 cm/s. In the hots syrup the molecules moved the most freely and
loose. This means since it was the hottest, it has the lowest viscosity so it was able to flow the fastest
out of all of the syrups.Silica affects viscosity because viscosity increases with more silica content,
more silica, more viscosity. Water can change the viscosity of lava. If water is added the viscosity will
decrease. Lava with low viscosity allows gas to escape easily while lava with a higher viscosity gas
pressure builds up and can lead to a huge

21. How Is Batman Changing
Have you ever had a TV show that you loved so much but it was ruined thanks to new versions of it?
Well Batman Begins by Christopher Nolan is the complete opposite of this. Christopher Nolan toke
the character of Batman and changed it to transform it into a new character by changing the story,
changing his character a bit and changing the characters that are in the story. Changing all of this made
the story fresh and alot more interesting.
In the original batman the story started in November 1939 s Detective #33 a mugger accosted Thomas
Wayne, his wife and son while they were walking home from a movie. He demands Mrs. Wayne s
necklace, Thomas intervenes and is shot; and when Mrs. Wayne calls for help, the mugger shoots her
too.

The way he is different is Batman seems to be more fearless in the comics because he openly went up
to the city officials and said none of you are safe. The only way the story is same is because the way
the past is shown is the same, how Batman calls the Bats and at the end it talks about the joker. There
are so many ways that they are different in because in the movie Batman fights Scarecrow, Ra s Al
Ghul, there is Rachel in the movies Lucius Fox is in the Movies shaping him, with the Scene of Bruce

22. Joyner Lucas I M Sorry Meaning
Rough Draft Essay #4 The song I chose was I m Sorry by the artist Joyner Lucas. This song has a
pretty deep meaning to me. It s about a man who commits suicide. Last year around Christmas time I
met this guy. He was a friend of a close family member of mine. He was always hanging around them
so naturally we started talking. I m the type of person who cares about people a little too much. I
started noticing that he got more quiet and more to himself. I never thought he wanted to hurt himself.
I trusted him and he knew he could trust me too. Things at home weren t good. He was hurting. No
kid should ever go through that (he is my age). A couple weeks later things seemed like they were
getting better. He used music as his escape. Me and him would talk about different songs that we liked
and how they affected how we felt. Cheesy stuff like that. Then one night at around 11 p.m. ish he
sends me a link to the song I m Sorry. I listened to it. All I remember is so many things going through

My story has a meaningful story behind it. The story is deep for me and even for the artist and
probably for many other people. Hearing songs like this can inspire you. It inspired me to be thankful
for the people in my life. One day they can be here the next they could be gone. You never know what
s going on in their lives. The question is why should we read? You get inspired by reading. It also
helps you succeed. Given that reading can help, one story was about a boy who struggled with
English. This story was Inside Out. He painted and read which inspired him to succeed in school.
(brief summary from pages 11 18) Hence the story by Sharon Cho. It was about a girl who was sick.
Reading inspired her to become a better person. It also helped her with her English too. She was very

23. The Message of Hate in Babi Yar Essay
The Message of Hate in Yevgeny Yevtushenko s Babi Yar
There are very few people in the world who are willing to go against the popular trends and do what
they feel in their hearts is correct. But Yevgeny Yevtushenko is one of those people. In his poem Babi
Yar, he tells the story of the modern persecution of the Jews, focusing on atrocities like those of the
massacre at Babi Yar and the pogroms at Beilostok, and also the general anti Semitism that killed men
like Dreyfus and pervades the entire Russian people. The poem uses many literary devices, such as
graphic imagery and contrasts, while painting a very clear picture of the scenes of pure horror.
Babi Yar is written in many different voices, all of which, however, have ... Show more content on

He says that he too must be a Jew for he is afraid of what his people and his society have become.
Many years ago, in the ancient days, it would not be such a shock to see the Jews enslaved in Egypt or
crucified as a means of torture and death, but even in modern times the same things are going on he
still has the marks from where the nails pierced him. The author has used classical examples of Jewish
persecution which every one knows is gone in the physical sense, but show how they still exist in the
theoretical aspect, as the persecution is still occurring.
In the next three stanzas, the poem takes the standpoint of three figures whose stories are pertinent
examples of what Yevtushenko is trying to rely in this poem. First the voice of Dreyfus is used, and
the stanza describes how horribly and unfairly he was treated, and how the country and its leaders
turned their backs on him.
There are two important literary devices used in this section. First the author puts the word pettiness
on a line by itself. This is used as a declaration of what the author feels anti Semitism is based on. It is
because of pettiness that Dreyfus was accused and further because of pettiness that he was not
pardoned when it was proven that he had not committed any crime. The next important device is the
description of ladies with their umbrellas. This is an image to the wealthy

Growing up in a military family, I have seen what it means to serve my country. I spent my formative
years moving every 3 4 years from duty station to duty station. The most influential experience was
living on Naval Base Guam, an active military installation, where I saw first hand the operational
tempo of military life and the indelible effects of World War II. Guam was liberated by U.S. Marines
who landed on beaches a few miles from my home and rid the island of the occupying Japanese
forces. My road to becoming a U.S. Marine began when my father took me to the top of Nimitz Hill
overlooking Asan beach. Surrounded by the names of the fallen marines who liberated Guam, I began
to imagine those brave Marines storming the beach. Years later,

the Harlem Hellfighters: I have two battalions in the trenches of the first line and the third in relief at

that had a huge impact was the assassination of the president. It happened on November 23rd in 1963

lobbying, who uses corporate lobbying and the implication of corporate lobbying based on the
constant changes in the political map (mid term and presidential elections). Political geography and
corporate political strategy also examines the relationship between political geography and corporate
political strategy as measured by lobbying expenditures . M. Antia, I. Kim and C. Pantzalis found that
firms tend to increase lobbying expenditures when a shift in the political map puts them further away
from the president, in other terms, companies tend to increase lobbying intensity when they lose
access to political power. They also found that the primary goal of lobbying is to build political capital
to take advantage of short term opportunities. And finally, they identified that when their ties to the
center of political power diminish, increasing lobbying intensity can increase valuation. This article
discusses why firms engaged in corporate lobbying and how firms engaged in corporate lobbying tend
to out perform non lobbying firms.

Structured Reflection on Marcus Aurelius life Although Marcus Aurelius had many Second Sophistic
teachers during his youth, it can be noted that his relationship with Marcus Fronto was unique. From
an examination of the epistolary Marcus Aurelius in Love, the expression of appreciation, longing, and
concern between the erastes and the eromenos is evident and of great interest. In comparing the letters
exchanged between Marcus Aurelius and Fronto with Chapter One of Meditations, there is an
observable change in the manner that Marcus Aurelius articulates his thoughts and feelings for Fronto,
showing that his sentiments for his mentor have changed from great admiration to remorse. ... Show

fact that there was no proper season for having sexual intercourse in ancient Rome. Even so, Marcus
Aurelius shows that he was able to prevent himself from rushing into having intercourse with his wife.
Thus, in refraining from having a sexual relationship with his slaves and delaying his proof of virility,
Marcus Aurelius makes an indirect statement to Fronto that, unlike him, he is able to control himself

this way managers can be sure the employees understand what is expected of them and can respond

On the other hand, Patents could be expensive and there is no guarantee of a grant but most important
is that the secrecy that comes with patents does not necessarily equate to a better product or a good
business idea for the product. This is a decision the inventor must take into account.
There is also a need to have a design protection system. The fundamental idea being that design
protection encourages novel design and prevents rapid growth of identical designs because producers
are blocked from copying. Visual appeal is a key factor in influencing the decision of buyers. It makes
sense even more when the products serve the same function, the design of a product could potentially
sway consumers, and therefore aesthetics are important (WIPO, 2004).
The main idea being that everyone needs to come up with their own design. There are two kinds of
design rights:
a. Unregistered Design Right: is one where you do not have to apply to protect the product. It covers
only 3D items because it protects the shape and configuration of the item and the right lasts from 10
15 years. An interesting clause with the unregistered design, is that the license can be granted to other
parties in the last five years. It also leaves room for an agreement on costs can be reached with the
other party and the original producer of the item.

Meteorology Essay
Part one: Explain the difference between Climate, Weather and Meteorology.
Despite the fact that weather, climate and meteorology are correlated; all three topics differ from each
other. With this out of the way, meteorology is defined as the study of both the atmosphere s climate
and weather. The main difference in between climate and weather is that they are determined by time;
meaning that weather is known as the conditions of the atmosphere over a short period of time, while
climate is the average conditions recorded of the atmosphere s weather over a long period of time.
For instance, when we talk about climate change we are talking about how the atmosphere s average
behavior has changed over time based on the current weather. Weather is reported daily through
current measured aspects of the atmosphere like temperature, wind speed and direction, dew point,
pressure and precipitation. Over time, these daily weather variables help meteorologists determine the
climate for the given region they are analyzing. By determining the climate of the region,
meteorologists are able to roughly predict the weather for the future.
In summary, with the help of science and technology, meteorologists are able to accurately predict
what the weather of a region will be for the next few days. While, knowing the climate of the given
region, they are able to make rough predictions on what the

38. Historical Discoveries Of Dna And Genetic Material
When most people think of DNA, scientists, laboratories, and twisted ladders come to mind. In reality,
DNA makes up genetic material, which makes up proteins that form much of the body and perform
vital tasks. The study of DNA and genetic material is something more people should be aware of. As a
society, knowing how powerful genetic research and technology are holds the possibility to help, or
possibly hurt, people now and in the future.
The study of deoxyribonucleic acid, better known as DNA, sounds modern, but in reality has been
around for over 150 years. In 1856, Gregor Mendel performed his famous pea plant experiment. This
experiment helped determine dominant and recessive traits. Mendel s work faded for more than 30
years. Based on his research, Reginald Punnett developed Punnett Squares. Punnett Squares predict
which traits offspring will inherit based on their parents. In 1885, scientists found chromosomes in
cells.
Even though there were many contributing factors, one of the most important discoveries about DNA
was made by Francis Crick and James Watson. Francis Crick was born in 1916, in Northampton,
England. Early in his life, he studied physics but later turned to biology. He attended University in
London and earned his Ph.D in molecular biology in 1954. James Watson was born April 26, 1928, in
Chicago, Illinois. He enrolled in the University of Chicago when he was just 15 years old. He earned
his Ph.D. when he was 22 by completing studies on bacteriophages.

best used to describe the transition which took place during this portion of the lab.

The fumes and accumulating waste that is pumped into lagoons are constantly leaking out and are
polluting the local waterways. The pollutions and fumes are also causing people to become sick and
choke from the toxic air. In 1992, family farms would control seventy percent of the hogs that were
raised on their farms for consumption (173). By the year of 2007, ninety five percent of the hog
productions were from factory farms (173). This only left 5 percent to small family farms to raise their
animals in the way they want it to be. Hauter (2012) argues the number of small family famed hog
operations in Missouri dropped from 23,000 in 1985 to 3,000 large ones in 2007, a decline of 87
percent (180). Even though there has been a dropped in family farm business the number of hogs
grown in the state has remained constant. The working conditions that the meatpacking industry is
horrendous for the workers and many of them suffer a lot to keep their job. Hauter (2012) argues

abusive labor practices in several ways (184). The reported claims from the workers are carpal tunnel
syndrome, contusions, blunt traumas from slipping and falling on wet floors, cuts and puncture,
infections causing the fingernail to separate from the figure, fractures, amputations, burns, hernias,
rashes, and swelling (185). Smithfield has also been

42. Short Story To Build A Fire
Have you ever been in a life or death where you got yourself in that situation because of something
you did but then got saved? Did you get accountable for it? If someone made a mistake of them almost
dying or getting hurt, then they should be accountable for the situation they caused because they put
themselves in that problem from miscalculation of weather or distance also from mistakes they
probably had made which had caused them to get help instead of dealing with it themselves. Firemen
or policemen who save other people in danger has to pay some bills and could cost a lot of money.
The people who got saved should be the one to pay that bill. First of all, people who go on a hike or
climb could miscalculate how far the distance would be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Usually people go do something in the mountains and are less prepared than they should be. Then they
realize that it s getting cold but have no resources to help them. Same goes for the man in the story To
Build a Fire where is says, To build the fire he had been forced to remove his mittens, and the fingers
had quickly gone numb. His pace of four miles an hour had kept his heart pumping blood to his
surface of his body and to all the extremities. But the instance he stopped, the action of the pump
eased down. By this it means that since it was very cold and that he had fallen in a wet spot, he needed
to build a fire and dry off, but with his very numb hands, it was more complicated to pick up the twigs
and grab the grass. Also, from the text The Voyage of the James Caird, the men had almost the same
problem as the man did. We were getting soaked on an average every three or four minutes. This went
on day and night... Three times the boat had to be chipped clear. Whether using an axe or a knife, the
task required strength, but also delicacy as the canvas decking had to be protected from damage at all
cost. This quote is saying that the people at the James Caird was mostly prepared for the trip, but it
was still really cold for them. They were getting went and the water started to freeze and get them cold
and the water would also get on the boat and leave ice on the floor. They had to waste time on clearing
the boat on ice so they don t have any problems. Additionally, the text from Survival is your Own
Responsibility, says, My first climb on Denali in 1981 was one of the most traumatic and best learning
experiences in my life because of the severe storms we encountered at 17,000 feet. As a
mountaineering ranger for the past 13 years I have witness many worst case scenarios regarding
accidents along

43. How Did Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi Change The Impact Of...
Making his debut on the political scene primarily around 1919, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi
changed the course of India s movement towards independence permanently for the next century. The
former British lawyer discovered his niche in government and leadership in South Africa, which he
then took back to his homeland of South Asia. By pursuing his moral based political ideology through
the use of predominantly non violent non cooperation practices, Gandhi struck made impacts, both
positive and negative, throughout the hearts of Indian natives across the nation. Supportive or crtical
of Gandhi s beliefs and political methhods for achieving independence from Britain, the statement that
Gandhi forever influenced political activism is irrefutable. While Gandhi s set of beliefs consisted of
many sub branches and complex economic plots, his sole center of political ideology revolves around
morality. He expressed this in an exerpt from Young India in 1920, stating, I reject any religious
doctrine that does not appeal to reason and is in conflict with morality (Modern South Asia 112).
Gandhi s ultimate goal was for the nation to reach such a state of enlightenmnet that no form of
representatives would be necessary. This utopian universe created in Gandhi s mind was referred to as
Ram Rajya. Part of the motive behind this concept was due to Gandhi s anti colonial sentiment, as he
believed India has become impovershed by their Government when referring to the British (Hind

Spodoptera littoralis tomato plants pest control
The cotton leaf warm Spodoptera littoralis is considered the major important pest of plenty of
vegetables, for causing severe injuries to the plants in all phonological crop stages, beside its rising
resistance to several groups of pesticides. The overallobjective of this investigation was to look for
new control strategy through evaluate the effects of the application of hydrophobic nano silica on the
resistance of tomato plants to this pest. The experiments were carried out under semi field conditions;
the experiment was conducted with two treatments, consisting of nano silica application, and a
negative control (distilled water) with five replications. Nano silica

45. Why Video Games Have Made A Shift Into Mainstream Pop Culture
The term pop culture can be defined as The culture of the people a culture that flourishes through
social interaction and mass media that is most actively involved in by the public. Pop culture can
cover a wide range of materials and as such should be looked at as a topic open to discussion,
interpretation as to why it is popular and what makes it popular. Since pop culture includes an
expansive spectrum of subjects I am going to be focusing on one of those and that is Video games. In
this essay I will be exploring the ideas and theories of why I believe video games have made a shift
into mainstream pop culture.
Culture
Before I start discussing video games I would like to explore the ideas of how cultures emerge and
how this eventually relates to my study. Lehman, D. R., Chiu, C. Y., Schaller, M. (2004) in Annual
review of Psychology define culture as represents a coalescence of discrete behavioural norms and
cognitions shared by individuals within some definable population that are distinct from those shared
within other populations These beliefs and behaviour whatever they may be in any culture can give us
a backing for realising individual or group goals that can often be categorised in a variety of formal or
informal ways. For example we could look at the eSports international events of League of legends as
a formal organization of a culture in effect, we have official merchandise, promotions, advertising, a
massive fan base and of course the athletes

46. Essay on Successes and Failures in Biotechnology Innovation
Successes and Failures in Biotechnology Innovation
When I first started this paper I would have to admit that I was pretty green in the field of
Biotechnology, I had a brief understanding but nothing near an in depth understanding of the field. So
when I first started looking for a success story, I tied my views on successful innovation in the areas
that I am familiar with to the biotech field. The major theme that emerged was that successful
innovation equals a product that produces quality profits for a company. After further research on the
success of innovation, you do realize that profits may be the end goal of the company but success
stems from a total company wide effort, that may start many years before a single cent of ... Show

An innovation that can meet the needs of these three categories can be viewed as success in my
opinion. Yes its true that there have been innovations that have been viewed as a success even though
they have meet one or more of these requirements but for the ultimate feeling of success I feel that
threes three categories have been meet in some way shape or form.
My success story starts with a company called Monsanto. They original started as a chemical
company providing primarily chemical herbicides to farm and household consumers for weed control
but as of recent, nearing the expiration of the patent on their biggest cash cow Roundup , they have
changed their scope a company focusing on innovation in biotechnology, genomics and breeding.
(Monsanto, 2005) They saw that their herbicide was still a leading seller in the industry and saw a way
to improve on that product so they genetically engineered a soybean seed that would be resistant to
their herbicide Roundup creating Roundup Ready Soy beans, the first genetically engineered crop to
be commercially available. Farmers now had to no longer apply herbicides before planting and on the
borders of field they could spray the herbicides directly over the crops eliminating any weeds from
intermingling and taking away nutrients from their crops producing bigger yields. They
